Shopify Bundles has a serious design flaw. A bundle containing two products counts as only ONE item for quantity-based free shipping. Yet Shopify calculates shipping, inventory, and fulfillment based on the individual components. Even worse, bundles cannot have their own shipping profiles, and native free-shipping discounts cannot be restricted to specific bundles. Support confirmed this is “working as designed” and suggested using third-party apps instead. How can Shopify recognize individual components for shipping and fulfillment but completely ignore them when calculating item quantities? This is inconsistent, frustrating, and creates unnecessary costs for merchants. A basic feature like this should work without requiring additional paid apps.
