Update: Smile.io contacted me with great customer service and has made some suggestions that are helpful! I am adding a star. -->Loyalty Landing Page -->Points on Product Page -->Points on Account Page I am hopeful that the first and third ones will make the program more clear for customers to use so we have to send instructions less! And I am hopeful that the second will increase interest in the program. Previous review: 1) We need to set a maximum points accrual for a single order. This seems really basic and is very important for our business. We offer volume discounts on very large dollar value orders and cant always exclude them prior to ordering, so we have customers with 30,000 points in their accounts which leads to a lot of customer service issues and confusion. We would also like to create a maximum number of redemptions a customer can use in a given week to prevent these customers with 30,000 points from placing an order for a free candle over and over 125 times. 2) The customer emails need to be much more customizable, include more instructions on redemption, and we need to be able to add a terms and conditions section to the pop-up. The fonts in the emails are not customizable, so they don't fit in with our brand. 3) When a customer is referred, they see a very cheesy emoji pop-up that is not customizable. This is not a good first impression. 4) There is no way to see which customers are being emailed by Smile and what emails they have received. Theoretically, we might know based upon the criteria we have set up, but it is not 100 percent clear and there is no record of this anywhere. Each customer page in Smile should show the email name and the date received. 5) It just isn't generating nearly enough sales to be worth the customer service hassle and high app cost.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share with us your concerns. I have sent you a follow up email directly to understand exactly what you want to do and explore other possible solutions. - Karen and the Smile team
This is the most robust and valuable app we've ever installed. We're using it to pull "Fulfillment Notes" from the product metafield over to the order page to remind fulfillment staff about important product details that are easily forgotten. We're also using to pull Customer Notes over to the notes that they place with important notes. And we've found a wide variety of other useful automations in their library we did not even know we needed. Customer support was super helpful.
I am torn between giving this app 3 and 4 stars. The customer service gets 5 stars. Hyper responsive helpful chat support and great onboarding. This app itself has several limitations that would be deal breakers except I can't find any viable alternative. There are many positives. It looks like the low inventory reports, expiration date tracking, bundling features will work well for us. They want you to create all products in Shopventory, but there doesn't appear to be any consequence for creating them in Shopify and then importing them, which is great. 1) You cannot edit any cost information once inventory is received. This means that we either give up on trying to use Shopventory to track our inventory costs, or we have to wait to receive (and start selling) inventory until these costs can be determined. We typically don't know freight costs at the time the PO is created or the inventory is received. My inventory staff are not my accounting staff, so they don't have access to these numbers. 2) The purchase order list page shows invoice subtotals, which means we can't easily scan this list to match POs to payments on our bank statement and credit card statements, which of course reflect the order total after discounts and freight. I cannot imagine a use case where any customer would prefer to see subtotals. 3) The purchase orders are so unpolished as to be borderline illegible and do not reflect well on our business. I don't need fancy, but these are too rough. Our address is long so it runs right into the adjacent field, as no padding is built in. One of the fields defaults to %null% rather than just 0 or blank. You can't email a PO unless you've created it (which runs into having final cost information I mentioned on #1). Even if we did email it, the email is very unpolished and you cannot set any default email text. I'd love to have a quick default message asking the vendor to confirm receipt and provide us with an estimated delivery date, and provide our contact information on this email. You can provide a custom note, but this note shows up at the bottom of the email as a "user note:" I am not my vendor's "user"! 4) Vendor info from Shopify isn't pulled over, so this makes setup VERY time consuming for us as we have about 100 vendors and well over 1000 products. We're sticking with it because despite these frustrations, our current lack of inventory control is causing even more problems. I know that building an app this robust is daunting, but these aspects feel as though no one has really thought them through.

Hi there and thank you for the detailed review! Lots of great feedback in here we're happy to address: 1. Shopventory does allow you to edit cost information after the product has been received. If you go to your main inventory page in Shopventory, you'll see a column for "Costs". If you see that your costs are blue, you can click on them to edit specific batches of received product! 2. Yes, you are correct that the Purchase Order list screen only shows the subtotals for the invoice. We are working on adding a column for the full Total! 3. We appreciate the feedback on the Purchase Order interface! We're sharing with our engineering team for review 4. You are correct that vendor information is not pulled over from Shopify at this time but we are actively working on that feature! Stay tuned.
We have an incredibly complicated and varied inventory with hundreds of products and Advanced Shipping Manager is our savior! I have been using it for years now without issues. We use it to: Charge different prices for different local delivery zip codes Charge an adult signature fee if a cart contains wine Prohibit wine gifts from shipping to specific states Prohibit gifts with flowers and wine from shipping via certain methods Offer flat rate shipping on only some product categories, with a weight max and an order subtotal minimum We are now setting up a complicated flat rate shipping price for our gift baskets only and they are really going above and beyond to make it work for us. While it's not the absolute most user friendly for large product catalogs like ours (we've renamed our SKUs to help group products that we want to have similar settings), it's improving and it's robustness and unparalleled customer service makes it SO worthwhile. Someone else suggested I take a look at a newer shipping app with a fancier UI and they could not accomplish even one of our core needs. As a small business, I worried about the monthly subscription cost, but I absolutely think we recoup our costs each month and save ourselves so many painful customer service calls when a customer has selected a shipping method we can't honor. We likely would have had to leave Shopify without this app.
