It works well, is fast, and has responsive support. I changed the domain for my Mx market, and the URL redirection took place like magic without any intervention. Recommended.
ON THE PROBLEMS > No option to import/migrate current push subscribers. > No option to import subscribers from Shopify. > Font changes don't show up correctly on buttons. Tech support said they would follow up with the development team and get back to me, but that hasn't happened. > Push won't work on iOS, according to tech support. > Nuisance banner to leave app review barely 5 minutes into launching the app - banner appears every time you edit the widget. > Incorrect message is the first thing displayed in the app dashboard saying that the widget is not installed even though it is installed. > Tech support contacted 2 days ago for importing existing push and SMS subscribers and followed up two more times for outstanding issues - no response. ON THE PLUS SIDE > It is nice that they have both the push and SMS options (if they worked as advertised) instead of taking the approach of including email marketing. > Well thought-out options for automation - drip campaigns, abandoned cart follow-up with 3 time intervals to send messages, on-demand campaigns, abandoned browser notification, back-in-stock alerts, price-drop alerts, win back > middle-of-the-line pricing Overall, not recommended due to poor implementation and tech support.
Not sure why another review says that "I can see in real time what my customers are doing on the store..." This information not visible in real-time in the USA where you can only view recorded sessions. Also, the replay interface is buried and not intuitive, you have to search for it and I found it after searching in their chatbot. For the basic $4.95 plan, they cheesily disabled the session count reset button so as to force you to upgrade to the $8.95 plan. Why even have the $4.95 plan with a 1,000 sessions? It is understandable that premium features and priority support would be under higher paid plans but, something as basic as reset the session counter not being available for the basic plan when one is trying out the features is nickel and diming. Bottom of the app dashboard has a link to see the new ver of the app from July 30, 2023 and when you click on it, nada! Just a page announcing the new version but, no new version. If you go to their website, no documentation, just a landing page with two apps listed and when you click on this app, it takes you back to the Shopify app store. Seems like the app is not being further developed. On the dashboard, a column titled "Typing" appears. What does that mean? No pop-up bubble help on what it means. Says the survey feature is appearing soon since July 30, 2023. Overall speed of the store dropped by 6 points since installing the app.
Shopify support can be amusing. Every once in a while, you will come across a gem of a support person. This time was not the case. First, Rona passed the buck by asking me to go through a verification process. Understand that to open a ticket, you have to verify yourself. Only then can you open a ticket. But that wasn't enough. So, Rona emailed me to request a chat and verify myself. Asked me to give the support person a ticket number. So, I went through the process and gave Alex the ticket number. Without reading the case notes, Alex wants to know if I followed the steps in the email sent by Rona! What?! So, I copied and pasted Rona's email and pointed out that the instructions were to open a chat request and (re)verify myself, which is what I was doing. The next 30 minutes were amusing and painful as Alex couldn't follow simple requests to visit the URL of the website I provided to see the errors for himself. Instead, he repeatedly asked me to send him screenshots by uploading them via the File/Content. Instead of seeing the errors for himself live, he repeatedly asked me to upload screenshots. Then, when it seemed that it couldn't get any more bizarre, it did. Alex sent me a screenshot of what he saw on my website. At the bottom of the screenshot was a button I asked him to click on, and he could not find it! So, I asked him what he saw on the bottom of the screen, if he saw a coral-colored button, and if he could please click it. He finally found the button (resembling the screenshot HE had sent) and clicked it. Then, it walked him through step by step to point out the error. Wow. Finally, I suggested to him that it was beyond him or Rona to be able to help and if he could PLEASE escalate the issue as the development team probably needed to look into it. The app doesn't translate the titles of products consistently. It skips translating some titles but does translate the description. Of course, it is a free app, so I guess we shouldn't expect much... The above interaction was on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. Still no update.

Sorry you had a bad support experience here, I read the notes. This is the product team: on the issue of not translating / inconsistently translating product titles, looking in your store/app for the products that are English where you want to be Spanish: not sure of your workflow but it's because you have English text saved in the Spanish title box. For example I deleted the English and auto-translated Reflx Lab 400 Daylight (400d) Color C41 35mm 36 Exp Film and you'll see it's now in Spanish. Is it possible that you duplicated products, and then edited from there? As that copies the translations over and considers them manually edited, so locks them off to auto-translation unless you delete content, save, and then re-translate. But yes it appears that the reason they're showing in English is because English is saved where Spanish should be; though I'm not clear how that's happened. We're available on localization-product-team@shopify.com if you want to talk through.
Before, UPS Insureshield had to get insurance for each package when generating the shipping label; now, it is done automatically and gives the Customer the option of adding the insurance to their cart. It has been about six months since I started using it, and after the initial setup, it has been 'setup and forget.' Works seamlessly in the background. Had one claim which took 3 weeks to resolve with minimal fuss.

Thank you for the kind review! We love to hear that InsureShield has been a seamless experience for you and that you had a good claims process. Happy shipping!
Excellent app that has made code inject easy. No messing around with theme files and I love the ability to turn the specific code on/off.
4.5 stars I have been using the app for over a year, and it is pretty much 'set and forget' as it does its thing. New features appear in the app. The app covers various optimizations and is well worth the fee. The recurring or persistent banner asking to leave a review is the most irritating aspect of the app. Folks do need a reminder but not a pesky one. The user interface is a rainbow of colors and overly simplistic, which takes away a bit from the app. The app's image optimization is quite remarkable, as is the speed at which it goes through the website with a couple of hundred products and several hundred images. When you add a product, the app does its thing and optimizes the product without you lifting a finger. Small, thoughtful features such as listing the keywords used alphabetically and being able to view them by frequency and help snippets throughout the app make it a breeze for anyone to use. You don't need to be an SEO scientist to use the app.
JAN 4, 2023 - yesterday, they asked for the WP feed, and I provided it. Been over 24 hours, and still no resolution or response. Also, no response on issue number THREE mentioned below about whether synced content is deleted when you discontinue the subscription service, just like they warn that the content would be deleted when your trial runs out. JAN 2, 2023 - Got a response back saying they were short-staffed during Christmas break. They provided a link to Squarespace, which said their RSS feed limited how many articles you could sync, which is not on PugSync. JAN 1, 2023 - Still waiting for an acknowledgment of the emails. DEC 27, 2022 - I sent two emails to support about issues I am experiencing - but am still waiting to hear back - maybe because of the Christmas holidays. Please respond ASAP. One - The Squarespace sync only imports ten blog articles out of 60. I upgraded the subscription, thinking there was a limit on the trial version. That did not resolve the issue. Two - The WordPress sync is not working. Three - You need to clarify whether articles already synced would be deleted if the app is deleted. Do you state that articles will be removed when the trial ends, but what about when the app is deleted after a subscription? I emailed both issues to helpdesk@blackpugstudio.com.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We apologize for the inconvenience and for the delay in response. We were indeed short-staffed during this holiday period. The App is currently limited to importing ten posts from Squarespace. That limit comes from Squarespace’s RSS feed, not from your PugSync plan. We have added this to the FAQ. Following your inquiry, we deployed a fix related to the synchronizing issue of WordPress articles. It should now be fully resolved. We appreciate the time you’ve taken to report the issue, as it helps us to improve the App. On cancel or uninstall: imported posts stay in your Shopify blog. They are only removed if you delete them in PugSync or in your store admin. The FAQ is updated here: https://pugsync.blackpugstudio.com/faq.html We take all feedback very seriously and strive to make the App a great and simple tool to import articles to your Shopify store. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
