**1/5 — U.S. Dropshippers Need to Check the Shipping Rates BEFORE Paying** I strongly recommend that U.S.-based Shopify sellers review Luxury Distribution's shipping rates before paying for a subscription or building a catalog around this service. The product selection initially looked promising, especially for designer and luxury fashion. Unfortunately, the shipping economics make the service extremely difficult to use competitively for U.S. customers. As of their September 1, 2026 DHL Express rate schedule, shipping to the United States is charged **PER PIECE**, not simply per order: • Accessories: €43 per item • Clothing / RTW: €52 per item • Shoes: €59 per item • Bags: €67 per item Even more concerning, multi-item orders do not appear to receive meaningful combined-shipping savings. Their own example states that shipping one bag plus two clothing items to the United States costs: **€67 + €52 + €52 = €171 in shipping alone.** Customs duties and taxes may also be charged separately where applicable. For a U.S.-focused dropshipping business, I cannot make those numbers work on ordinary fashion products. For example, €52 to ship a single shirt is roughly $58 USD at the exchange rate when I checked. A seller would have to either absorb that enormous shipping expense or pass it on to the customer. Either option makes competing with normal U.S. fashion retailers extremely difficult. The service might make economic sense for very expensive luxury merchandise where a $50–$75 shipping charge represents a small percentage of the selling price. But for regular clothing, shoes, accessories, and lower-priced fashion, the shipping cost can destroy the margin. Another concern is that the company states these DHL rates are reviewed monthly and can increase or decrease based on fuel surcharges. That makes predictable long-term pricing even more important. My issue isn't that international DHL Express shipping costs money. My issue is whether this model is economically practical for a U.S.-based Shopify dropshipping business. Before subscribing, do the math yourself: **Product cost + per-piece shipping + duties/taxes + Shopify/payment fees + your required profit = actual selling price.** Don't look only at the attractive wholesale product price. For my U.S.-focused store, the shipping economics simply don't work, so I'm uninstalling the app. **Check the shipping table before you pay.**

**USE EXTREME CAUTION BEFORE SUBSCRIBING** I was considering using Brandsdistribution for dropshipping, but I found a serious issue that anyone planning to sell their products should investigate before paying for a subscription. Their shipping information page, linked from the website footer, currently returns an error: https://www.brandsdistribution.com/en/cms/shipping-fee More concerning, when I attempted to place a test order to determine the actual shipping cost, I was not given a shipping price before submitting the reservation request. Instead, the website displayed this message: “By clicking the button above, you will submit your reservation request. Our staff will immediately forward the request to the supplier, who will verify the actual stock availability of the selected products. Within 24 hours, you will be contacted directly by the supplier to receive the final order with: Confirmed quantities Shipping cost quote Available payment methods” For a dropshipping business, this creates a serious problem. You need to know your product cost, shipping cost, and actual stock availability BEFORE your customer places an order. Otherwise, you cannot reliably calculate your selling price or profit margin. If a customer purchases an item from your Shopify store and you only learn afterward what the supplier will charge for shipping, you could potentially discover that the order is unprofitable after you've already collected the customer's payment. I strongly recommend getting clear written answers regarding shipping costs, inventory confirmation, and fulfillment procedures before purchasing an annual subscription or building your store around this service. The product catalog may look attractive, but predictable fulfillment costs are essential for running a dropshipping business profitably.
