BE CAREFUL — Unexpected Charge After Uninstalling I am extremely disappointed with this app and its billing. I installed Essential Upsell on 13 August 2026 and uninstalled it on 30 August 2026 at 20:07. Shopify's App History clearly confirms the exact installation and uninstallation dates and times. Despite uninstalling the app, I was subsequently charged £14.92, which was included in my Shopify bill and paid. I was no longer using the app and it was no longer installed on my store when this charge was issued. I am now requesting a full refund of £14.92 and an explanation of exactly what this charge was for and what billing period it relates to. What concerns me most is that this type of charge can easily go unnoticed by Shopify merchants, especially when the amount is relatively small. In my case, however, I noticed it and have documented the entire installation and uninstallation history. This billing practice feels highly misleading and, if the charge relates to a period after the app was uninstalled, potentially fraudulent. I would strongly advise other Shopify merchants to check their Shopify bills carefully after uninstalling this app and make sure they are not being charged unexpectedly. I hope the developer resolves this immediately and refunds the £14.92.
WARNING — Unexpected charges and refund issue I strongly recommend being extremely careful with this app. I was charged £22.10 in August even though I was not using the app. I contacted the developer and requested a refund. I was told that I had to pay the charge first in order to receive the refund, so I followed their instructions and paid it. The refund was never received. Even more concerning, Shopify's records clearly show that I uninstalled the app on 30 August 2026. Despite this, another charge of £36.49 was issued on 19 September 2026 — almost three weeks after the app had already been uninstalled. I was then required to pay this charge as well. I have now paid £58.59 in total for an app that I am not using and that had already been uninstalled. How can a company charge £36.49 after the app was already uninstalled, especially when a refund for the previous charge was already being disputed? To me, this is not normal or acceptable billing. It feels like a deceptive and potentially fraudulent billing practice, particularly when small charges can easily go unnoticed by merchants. I have screenshots and Shopify billing records documenting the installation/uninstallation history, both charges, and the payments. I am demanding a full refund of £58.59 and will escalate this matter to Shopify, my payment provider, and the appropriate consumer protection/fraud-reporting authorities if it is not resolved. Potential users: please check your Shopify bills carefully and make sure you are not being charged after uninstalling this app.
