SEO HERO AI Alt Text Generator

I just installed this app and I’m already impressed! I have a medium Shopify catalog with hundreds of products, so going through every product image individually to add alt text would be incredibly time-consuming. The AI-generated descriptions are detailed, and I especially appreciate being able to provide custom guidance so the alt text focuses on the actual product rather than the background of my mockup images. This is going to save me a ton of time while helping make my store more accessible!

MUCH more accurate than other AI text generators and AMAZING customer service! We sell fine seafood and gourmet foods, so our images tend to be a bit more complex than say, a bottle of shampoo or something. AATG blew other apps away in understanding images and generating AI text for them. I saved so much time generating alt text for 2000+ images in my store. More importantly, after a redundant app in my store overwrote many of my generated texts a few months later, the AATG team helped me reinstate the alt texts for zero charge and no effort needed by me. It was a huge help and so relieving that I didn't lose weeks of work. The only constructive feedback I can offer is that organizing and sorting of images could be a bit more robust, particularly if you are adding alt text to thousands of images in one project like I was. Install this app!

I've only just started using the app after trying to manually update my alt text for photos and the process is so much quicker and easier, showing you exactly what you're missing and filling it out for you in a matter of seconds! The free tier is super generous (as well as offers they may have running) so this was definitely the app for me

Loving this app

Super effective! And really useful and quick customer service!

Much better than other apps I’ve tried! The AI-generated alt text is accurate and does a great job of understanding the actual content of my product images. It saves me a lot of time and makes optimizing images for SEO much easier. Highly recommended!

Works very well and quickly! Easy to use. Highly recommended.

another great tool to help with SEO overall. I have been using for 3 days along with the audit tools and I already see an improvement. More time will tell...stay tuned!

Easy to use and does a great job at applying the text without sounding like AI

This app has already been sooo helpful! I am excited to keep using it and see how much it affects my shop and blog. It's been very easy, clear, and feels like a load off my back to get these images fixed up.

I installed the free version of this app to try out on my store for bikepacking gear as I had a bunch of new images to upload. Support has been super helpful setting up the app and I am now getting some good results.

This app is amazing! It generates alt text automatically, saving us a lot of time. The results are accurate, and the bulk generation feature makes SEO optimization much easier.

We're fixing our site, and we have a large catalogue of products. This app made it super easy to generate Alt text for our images and took a lot of stress and work off our plate

User friendly app for beginners to generate alt text descriptions in bulk.

Just finished my first pass, love the results. having tried a few other apps, this one is generating the most context-aware and usable alt text by miles. The support team were also prompt, and helpful.!

it works wondervoll

This is the best tool I’ve ever used. The complimentary 50 credits allowed me to test the alt text generation, and it works extremely fast. 10 out of 10 — I will renew my subscription!

Very user-friendly app with straightforward guidance for SEO-newbies like me.

Very useful app. I was struggling to find the time to generate good quality alt texts on all my images. I found this app and thought I would give it a try. I am very impressed. Super simple to use. Very effective and much better quality alt texts than I imagined. I would definitely recommend this product.

As a one-woman independent fashion label, I simply don't have the time to write alt texts for hundreds of product images manually. SEO Hero has been a real time-saver — the AI actually describes the products well, picking up fabric texture, details and construction rather than just writing something generic. The before/after preview lets you check quality before applying, which I appreciated. Finally a tool that helps a small business move forward without needing a whole team behind it.

Works as described. The generated alt text is descriptive and quickly generated. The fine-tunability and exposed knobs are very helpful.

An absolute game-changer for international storefronts with massive media libraries! As an SEO professional, manually writing descriptive, keyword-rich ALT texts for thousands of product images, descriptive icons, and mobile/desktop banners is an absolute nightmare. SEO HERO AI completely automates this workflow while keeping the output contextually accurate and perfectly aligned with my Semrush/GSC keyword strategy. It has dramatically improved our Google Images indexing and saved me hours of manual labor. Highly recommended for any serious Shopify Plus merchant looking to build a sustainable organic traffic moat! Five stars all the way.

It really works. It saves a lot of time, improves SEO and creates relevant, accurate descriptions for product images. Helpful to any store looking to optimize accessibility and search visibility

Absolutely love this app! The setup was super easy and the AI-generated alt texts are spot on. The support team is incredibly helpful and responsive — truly top-notch service. They went above and beyond to help me get started. Highly recommend this app to any Shopify store owner looking to improve their SEO and accessibility!

I'm early into using this, but it seems like a GREAT starter place for writing strong SEO alt text for images. (I have a few hundred images on my site and haven't consistently written alt text for them... it's been on my to do list for a while but it keeps overwhelming me). My business mentor suggested I check this out. You need to share some inputs (brand voice, key products, search terms, etc.)-- candidly, I used AI to help me with this. But once it was input-- the results were very strong. I'm excited to be able to have this run in the background and make my site more accessible without constant manual editing on my end. Gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the free version limits you to 50 images and some of the UI is less intuitive-- I had to use their chat to figure out how to do a couple things. But on the plus side, their contact center was SUPER responsive and helpful. Overall, I'd recommend.

I like that it helps you make sure you are compliant with accessibility and helps save you hours of work when you didn't know to do SEO in alt text and now you have hundreds of products that need to be updated and you just want to save time as a single mom lol. But overall I recommend this app.

Does the job, great for accessability compliance and SEO

Very easy app to use and very helpful for bulk generating Alt Text to ensure compliancy and SEO visibility.

Man I am beyond impressed with how easy the setup wizard was — it walked me through everything step by step: brand keywords, SEO terms, and tone in no time didn't take long at all. The AI-generated alt text quality is genuinely good and relevant to my niche (sensory toys for autism/ADHD). Used my 50 free credits on my main product images and the descriptions were descriptive and keyword-rich right out of the box. Great app for GMC compliance and SEO Highly Recommended!

This is such a great help when setting up your Shopify store.

I have used other SEO tools that have alt-text generation as part of their package. And have compared alttext.ai to this tool, SEO HERO. After using this app to generate natural sounding alttext I have come to the conclusion this is one of the best out there, if not the best one yet. Basic Plan(available to all plans): 1. This tool generates alt text like natural sounding language, not keyword-stuff and generic sounding using templates. 2. Accurately describes image and gives a good context clues even a blind person can understand it with near accuracy 3. Customize the brand voice using 2 preset settings at a time, but worry not there are at least a dozen to choose from. On the premium plan: 4. Customize how the alt text is written based on your prompt, this is crucial if you want your alt text to sound like a magazine catalog or a technical spec document 5. If the context you want can't be found in your customer-facing data like Title, description and tags, you can use custom metafields as context, which i have read that alt text ai can handle but on a higher cost per image Overall, this is a good app for it's price, but there are some minor quirks but they aren't deal breakers, they are just UI/UX issues 6. For SEO Context: adding seo keywords means clicking outside of the field instead of pressing enter which isn't intuitive, this can be quite a hassle if you are typing the SEO keywords because you need to move the mouse pointer and click away which stops your typing momentum 7. For Product Metafield: The metafield search input field disappears after entering a search term without results, so you need to click to another section and return to refresh and make the input field appear again. A standard red text that says "not found" or similar will suffice and speed up configuration while still keeping the input field visible VERDICT: Would recommend this tool to anyone serious about optimizing their alt text game.

Great app and super easy to use. Generated thoughtful Alt text for my images quickly and save me a ton of time.

We just installed this app to help enhance our accessibility and ADA compliance. We add alt tags as part of our SEO strategy, but knew we likely had many images we needed to address. Installation was easy and quick, as was the web chat when I was inquiring about purchasing additional credits.

The bulk editor is amazing! Does all the Alt text for your images automatically! Thanks for this APP i't saving me hours!

Just downloaded the app it was a breeze. Very easy to set up. I followed the set up guide to calibrate my settings & ran a few tests - all the alt text generated was great. Reached out to customer service with a couple questions via the chat and they got back to me quickly. Very helpful. I appreciate that they have an option to pay for just a one time bulk job instead of being tied into a plan. I may end up signing up for a plan to put alt text on auto-pilot from here moving forward, but since I had over 10,000 images that needed alt text added this app was a lifesaver.

Currently using it for ALT texts, it has been working good so far, they are accurate

Great app for writing extremely detailed alt image descriptions and saving time!

We’ve tested a few AI alt text apps for Shopify, and this one has been the best balance of quality, speed, and ease of use so far. The generated alt text actually makes sense contextually and doesn’t sound overly robotic like many other AI tools. Bulk generation saved us a huge amount of manual work, especially for stores with large product catalogs. What we liked most: • Fast bulk processing • SEO-friendly alt text generation • Easy setup and clean UI • Ability to customize keywords and prompts • Helpful and responsive support team It’s a practical app for improving both accessibility and image SEO without spending hours editing images manually. Definitely recommended for Shopify stores that care about SEO and maintaining a well-optimized catalog.

Fast and easy to use customer service respond fast!

Very helpful app. Complete timesaver. Very easy to setup and use. Generates at an acceptable speed with accuracy.

"I just set up this app for my store and the process was straightforward. The AI-generated alt text looks great and is way better than the generic 'Product mockup' text I had on all my images. Looking forward to seeing the SEO results as it processes my full catalog. Great support team too! I would definitely recommend this app to anyone just starting out and needing genuine help."

This app does a great job generating descriptive Alt text using the product name and description already provided. Alt text is far more descriptive and conversational compared to the default AI alt text provided in Shopify that needs to be manually applied. I was able to set up the application and apply new Alt Text to images within minutes of download. The dashboard provides more details and highlights actions that are needed on my store compared to other Alt text applications that I've tried.

Quite easy I was pretty surprised how well the AI worked. It did take some prompting to get it correct but the workflow was relatively easy. Support is great too!

Set up was straightforward and well-guided. The onboarding flow asks the right questions — business type, SEO goals, brand keywords — and the Live Preview feature is genuinely useful for checking output quality before committing credits. The generated alt text for our jewellery products was accurate, descriptive and included material details (14K gold plated, product name, styling context) which is exactly what we needed. The only limitation on the free plan is that custom prompt instructions require an upgrade, but the keyword injection via brand/SEO context fields works well as a workaround. Good app for any store with a backlog of missing alt text.

App showed one of my images with alt text it added, was bang on. I think this will be a good option for me.

Super helpful app. We were able to generate alt text for thousands of images quickly, and the quality is solid. Easy to use and does exactly what it promises and the price is great. Definitely worth it.

Writes beautiful alt-text descriptions for us. Customising to brand voice worked first time. Very easy to use. Interface is easy to use and intuitive.

"I had over 1,800 product images with UUID codes as alt text, which was terrible for SEO. SEO HERO processed almost all of them automatically with descriptive, keyword-rich alt text. The onboarding wizard was easy to follow and helped me set up my brand keywords and SEO goals. Great app for anyone who needs to fix image alt text in bulk. The support team was also very responsive. Highly recommend!"

I have been really impressed with this app so far in how it has quickly helped us get our imagery updated with relevant alt text so we can ensure our site stays accessible and our SEO is further supported. Live chat is very responsive too.

I used to spend hours manually writing alt texts for my product images, but SEO HERO AI does it in seconds. The descriptions are accurate and perfectly optimized for search engines. Highly recommend this app

Yep, they make great apps, I am using 3 of them. Because of these apps I am suddenly able to clean up a lot in our store: now all our images have proper alt text assigned to them. Alt Image text for over 7000 images, I could have never done that manually. The AI is very capable to detect what the image is about, so it is not just a description, it is a proper description

"Muy buena app para generar alt text en español de forma automática. La configuré fácilmente, generé 50 imágenes en pocos minutos y el resultado fue excelente: textos descriptivos, en español, con el nombre del producto y detalles específicos de cada foto. Justo lo que necesitaba para mejorar el SEO de mi tienda. Recomendada."

Just what I was looking for, thank you!

Excellent !!!! Get it.. and pay the money !!

Just set this up for our bespoke jewellery store and the configuration was straightforward. The metafield integration is particularly useful — it pulls in carat, shape, colour and clarity to generate specific, accurate alt text for each diamond rather than generic descriptions. Early days but the output quality looks good. Saves a significant amount of manual work across a large product catalogue.

Buena app, muy completa, y ahorra muchisimo tiempo

I've only been using this app for a short time, but it has already saved me time and headaches. I have 1000+ image alt texts to get caught up on and the bulk ai generator works really well for that. I'm very happy with the results!

Good app for quickly generating automated alt texts for your images. We would like to see the auto alt generation for all images uploaded automatically (not manually)

Gute App. Hilft zuverlässig.

Skincare SEO is all about ingredients and benefits – 'retinol serum', 'niacinamide toner', 'hyaluronic acid moisturizer'. Writing alt text for hundreds of products with similar packaging was impossible. SEO Hero handles it perfectly. The AI correctly identified dropper bottles, airless pumps, jar textures, and even differentiated between cream, gel, and serum consistencies. It weaves in key ingredients naturally without sounding robotic. I processed my entire catalog of 1500+ skincare products in minutes. Absolute game-changer for beauty brands.

Really helpful app for improving SEO and accessibility without the manual work. It’s easy to use and saves a lot of time by generating alt text in bulk for product images. It's a solid and practical tool for any Shopify store.

"Great app for bulk alt text generation. The AI understands the product images well and generates keyword-rich descriptions. Works perfectly for my automotive accessories store with thousands of products. Saves a lot of time compared to manual work."

This app makes it easy to bulk-generate clear, SEO-friendly alt text for all my product images and fix missing tags in minutes. The interface is straightforward, the results are consistent, and it has helped streamline our on-page SEO and accessibility work

Works really well. I have been looking for an app that can generate in bulk for a while, and that does not sound AI. It is great for SEO. Recommend this 100%

We’re using this app to generate alt text for product images, and so far we’re very happy with it. What we really appreciate is the ability to customize SEO keywords and tone, so the outputs actually match our niche (barefoot footwear). The bulk generation feature is a huge time-saver, especially with a larger catalog. Setup was quick and easy, and the option to use metafields makes the outputs more accurate (e.g. color, product type). Overall, a great tool for scaling SEO without a lot of manual work

Insanely fast setup. Works expediently. Just make sure you don't have random images you don't need descriptions for when doing bulk processing. 5/5

The best SEO alt text I've seen from an app yet. Great functionality and customizable options to work with.

Fantastic time-saving tool!

Nice app, very helpful! Produces high quality alt text for product images at bulk, just what I was looking for and fairly easy to get the hang of.

Can't believe the time this app has saved me. Very impressed with the alt text descriptions!

Great App. Customer support is very responsive. They replied to my request within minutes. If you want to improve your SEO this is the app to try.

This app saved us a bunch of time! Easy to understand and use. Would've taken hours upon hours to write the Alt text and rename our image file names. The ai generated summaries are great. Thanks!

Great company & really easy to use UI. Very happy & has greatly helped our SEO & site growth since using. Their automation feature is great & really hands-off! 12/10, thank you!

Great app! Support answers back right away. Want to improve your ALT seo, try this app! It works for my store and I completed generations for my entire store in minutes! Wonderful app on shopify!

we have over 2000 images of which most don't have any alt text - to manually update every product image would have been a laborious task! I then found this app - have tried it and within 5 mins I'm all set up. Used up the trial 50 credits - which gives you a great insight to how easy it is! Would highly recommend.

works great!

I love this app! it does everything for you, and it saves so much time! They also have a meta tag app as well which is awesome

Very easy to use app, AI generated Alt text is great, with ability to manually edit or add if required. Saves a huge amount of time 5*

Easy, Powerful, and Effective "Excellent app! It’s extremely user-friendly and the results are surprisingly accurate. Unlike other AI tools that sound robotic, this one creates natural-sounding descriptions that actually help with SEO. I love the ability to customize templates and the 'Hyper SEO' mode. It saved me weeks of manual work. Great support team and a must-have tool for Shopify stores!

So far I have used this app on my product images and I'm really pleased to see it pulls in my product titles to influence the alt text, which means the text is fully relevant to the image and my products. Works really quickly and is easy to use.

Great app but lacking some functions ! Like I'd like to be able to only process images that are visible on the website.

The speed of generating alt text is fast and the quality is good, just updated to premium plan

So far so good! App seems to be asking all the right questions in order to bulk edit alt text. I pulled data from GSC and our keyword planning tool to populate most of the fields, and it had features for automatically pulling other necessary data. I will update this review once we have had a chance to test it out more thoroughly.

works good!

Lifesaver. This is the ultimate work smarter, not harder tool. Alt Text can be one of the most tedious but necessary tasks and this app made it easy and possible in a short amount of time. Make sure to spend some time setting up the tool with your data fields so it is a specific as possible.

This app has gotten the closest to the alt text tone and descriptions that I am looking for compared to any of the other apps that I have tested. Most Text is good with no edits, but some do need a minor tweak - but great time saver overall.

easy to use, generated text seems to be quite good so far! This has saved a lot of time

Great for getting the job done well and fast!

Just installed the app to update the missing alt tags across the site. I added a few keywords and sentences and it generated 50 missing alt tags in a few minutes. I would highly recommend.

It works exceptionally well with more general images, but with our very specific-looking products, the AI requires some manual work to correct and fine-tune the descriptions. It's a great time-saver overall, but be prepared to do some auditing if your inventory is highly niche.

I really liked that you can use the free tier and initial free credits to test out the app and make sure it works as expected. We did generations for our entire store (~7K images) and had good results. We ran into an issue with auto-generations for non-product images using all our remaining credits but the support team was quick to reply and we came to a reasonable solution for partial reimbursement of the credits used. Will continue to use it moving forward for new products but have turned off the auto-generation feature to prevent any unwanted credit usage.

Works great
