Magical Vacation Mode

I installed this to use for Maternity leave, and so far very happy! I had a small bug during install, but customer service was immediately responsive to help solve the issue! I only wish I had more control to preview the settings properly before activating, especially as a first time user. But being able to have both a pop-up window notice for visitors that they can dismiss, plus I can activate in-line notices on product descriptions while turning off checkout was great, so visitors are still able to browse while I'm away. My only other recommendation would be a full width banner that can't be dismissed if a shop owner doesn't even want people browsing during vacation mode. But this perfectly fit my needs, and very happy to have tech support when I needed it.

Such a great app for small business owners who don't have the capability to fulfill orders while out on vacation. I've also used it to notify customers when we have maintenance or production outages on our equipment that prevents us from printing and fulfilling orders. The pop up messages look great...thanks!

AMAZING! This is a must have app for everyone that goes on vacation from time to time. No stressing about unfulfilled orders nothing! Also when you're going to sell at a market you can close the store without actually closing it, so you don't sell your one-of-a-kind product twice! I would 100% highly recommend this app! Also, if you have trouble installing it (like I did), they're more than happy to help you out!

Very easy to use and they do the setup for you!

Solves a lot of problems in a simple and easy to use way. Easy to set up and when I hit a speed bump support was excellent. Price makes it a no brainer.

A useful little app, for a very fair price. Support was quick to answer my questions, and helped integrating the sign-up form into our product template when it didn't work out of the box (probably an issue on our side due to a very old theme).

What an excellent app, this is by far the easiest to close your store while you are away, I had an issue with overlay and contacted support via email, in less then 24 hours Jeff from Magical Apps sorted it out.

Waste of money. App did not stop customers from using cart to checkout.

We need to put our store “Brand Name Lighting” on hold a few times a year. Only for a very short time when we are testing inventory feeds, etc. Shopify gives you two options: 1) Password protect. Not good, as we will loose all the SEO we worked so hard to get and current customers won’t be able to login. 2) Change plan to “Pause and Build”. Problem is that this option did not allow us to put the store on hold right away, only when our current plan expires (almost in a month). Customer support was very good, opening a ticket with the billing department, etc. But we can’t have this hassle every time we need to put our Shopify store on vacation mode. This app was the right solution! Installed in seconds, the owner has video tutorials in the setup section giving you step by step instructions! So easy! Removes the checkout icon from the top of the page and removes the “add to cart” buttons. You can customize everything! Including adding a “vacation mode” custom image, all the text and colors. Very happy with this app! If you need LED lighting and electrical supplies, you go to Brand Name Lighting (https://brandnamelighting.com/). If you need a very good “Vacation” app that works without bugs, you go to Magical Vacation Mode.

While scouring the internet trying to find a good solution for going away for a few days, I learned about Magical Vacation Mode in the Shopify Forums. I certainly am glad that I gave it a try. The app did exactly what I needed it to...let my visitors know that they can look at my items but not purchase until my return. There was also an option for them to request a notification when I reopened. When I installed the app, I quickly received a note from a human asking if I needed help setting it up! While I didn't, it was easy, it was nice that someone was there if I needed them. When I returned, it was painless to go back to selling. I can't recommend this service enough, it solves a problem that enables me to take time off without the worry.

This is exactly what we needed! It allows customers to still browse the store without being able to place an order. I like that the messaging pops up with an email capture, too.

Great APP Support reacts fast.

Everything looked good doing it myself but since we are using a vintage Shopify theme, I was unable to do inline messaging. Jeff the developer stepped in quickly and put in some code to really customize our message. Easy to use and implement, would fully recommend for anyone looking for an app to close their store for a brief period.

I cannot believe Shopify does not have a vacation setting, but for a mere $5 per year (that's right, not per month ... $5 per year) this app made it super easy. Actually the tech support made it super easy. I took them up on the offer to set up the app for me with a simple email, and after just a few quick email exchanges they set it all up for me! Could not have been easier. I'm so grateful.

Great option for Shopify owners for vacation mode. With their help, they (Bhanu, Arnold and John) were able to customize my shop so that I didn’t need to put my shop on pause. Now, my store remains active to browse and my checkout is disabled for the period I choose to not take orders. I absolutely love it!

Could not be easier to set up. They achieved what Shopify with all it’s limitless resources couldn’t. A simple vaction mode app.

Not having a vacation option in Shopify, this application solves the problem. John has been a great help in assisting me with every step and solving all my questions. Highly recommend.

FINALLY is all I can say - what a great and useful app for taking a break with your store and not having to follow the ridiculous suggestions by shopify to put the "coming soon" / password protected page back up - I don't care what kind of message you put on that page - it makes you look like you have gone out of business - and no one can browse your store! With Magical Vacation mode - you can close for as long as you want, and still keep your shop open with a message (configurable) on the home page and product page so that customers don't get frustrated or confused. Simple and lightweight - doesn't bog down the store. I personally have needed this app for years and am thrilled with the ease of set up AND the responsiveness of the developer who helped me tweak it to my needs. Take a break, close for inventory - go on vacation - at the push of a button. 5 stars all the way!

A fabulous app for a small business, we all need a break from time to time but shopify unfortunately does not have a holiday (or vacation) mode like Etsy or Ebay yet. This app fills that gap, offering a simple way to keep your shop running while you are away. No impact on your SEO or traffic with a simple install to remove the add to cart button, which is replaced with a simple message your away. You can easily mod the message and say what you like, so an opportunity to keep on brand or tweak to local language (e.g. vacation vs. holiday). You can also set it up to automatically turn on again while you are away, so close your shop a week before you go and reopen again while you are away so you have some work to come back to, brilliant. It's well thought out, not bloated with irrelevant or overcomplicated functions and John in support as other have said already, is a really super nice guy and who will help set things up if needed. This app allowed us to take some family time away from shopify, emails, social media and other apps just for a week. It was a real blessing after years being stuck on a treadmill (like many family businesses). Highly recommended.

Not so great: The app was free. I got on vacation with magical vacation mode. In the middle of my vacation in August the App was deactivated because now it’s $5 per month.

What a blessing this milestone app is. For years I confused my customers by doing the only thing that Shopify allows you to do: Password protect your site. Most of my not so tech savy customers hence believed that I went out of business.... Thank you, Magical Apps!!! Dr G

As a one-woman show, this app is a life-saver!! I wanted a way for people to still be able to browse through my website when I take an occasional break, but not be able to actually place orders. It's a WAY better solution than putting a site into password protection mode. It was the easiest thing to implement on my entire website, and it works like a charm. 100% thumbs up from me!

This is a very, very useful app for Shopify, and it's completely free, at least for now. Finally a tool with which you can temporarily (or longer) block the sale of products without having to "hide" your entire shop. This can be helpful for many small companies if, for example, the entire work cannot be done due to illness. The app works immediately and flawlessly. You can add an additional popup where customers can register during the "closure". The good thing is that this email registration is linked to "Shopify email", so that the "double opt-in" (DOI) works, which is mandatory in the EU. The display of this popup was previously in english. Thanks to a mega top hammer SUPPORT, this has been changed, at least for German-speaking shops, so that the ad is now available in German. The app does this automatically if the shop has the language "German". So: A useful little app with fast, good support. We recommend !

Das ist eine sehr, sehr nützliche App für Shopify und zumindest im Moment noch komplett kostenfrei. Endlich ein Tool, womit man den Verkauf von Produkten vorrübergehend (oder länger) sperren kann, ohne dass man seinen gesamten Shop "ausblenden" muss. Das kann für viele kleine Firmen hilfreich sein, wenn z.B. Krankheit die gesamte Arbeit flach legt. Die App funktioniert sofort und einwandfrei. Man kann ein zusätzliches Popup dazu schalten, wo die Kunden sich während der "Schließung" eintragen können. Das gute daran ist, dass diese E-Mail-Eintragung an "Shopify-E-Mail" gekoppelt ist, sodass das "Double-Opt-In" (DOI) funktioniert, was in der EU ja Pflicht ist. Die Anzeige dieses Pupups war bisher in englischer Sprache. Dank einem Mege-Spitzen-Hammer-SUPPORT wurde dies zumindes für deutschsprachige Shops so geändert, dass nun die Anzeige in deutscher Sprache vorliegt. Das macht die App automatisch, wenn der Shop die Sprache deutsch hat. Also: Eine nützliche kleine App mit einem schnellen, guten Support. SEHR zu EMPFEHLEN !

FANTASTISCH! Endlich ein Ferienmodus für Shopify, bei dem alle Produkte sichtbar bleiben :-) Wenn die Option "inline message" ausgewählt wird, werden keine google fonts aus US-Servern geladen (bei der Pop-Up-Funktin allerings schon). Der Kundneservice ist megaschnell und freundlich, und hat bei einem glitch bedingt durch mein altes theme schnell geholfen, so dass jetzt alles klappt. Daumen hoch!
