This app is a lifesaver for quickly replacing images in store with white backgrounds. It does a really clean job on detailed edges. The only place where I had less than perfect results was on images that had black components against dark shadows. When I first used the app, I was having an issue with the variant images not being replaced by the new image. Axel was extremely responsive and investigated the problem thoroughly and then released an update to the app which addressed the issue. Everything is working great now in my shop (Dawn theme). I haven’t tried many of the other photo background remover apps, but I can certainly say this app saved me a ton of time and frustration. I really appreciate you detailing your experience with the app. It was great to publish an update that fixed the issue you were having! Thanks a lot!

Usually this app works very well indeed, just a few instances where it cant figure out the background properly so i have had to undo the change. Only gripes are that you dont get your credit back if it doesn't work and it is a bit on the expensive side. Might add it to my other store if these issues are sorted out I would deservedly give this a once sorted Perfect customer service would give more than 5 stars if i could !! As promised, I have updated the app today to add the new link / button if you are not satisfied with the result and to receive a refund for your credits. Hope you can now increase your rating, it would be amazing! And I hope you like this new feature ;-)
I really like this app. Alex is great to work with and helped me clear up a small issue. He even gave me some credits for my time. The price is a bit steep since we have over 1500 products to clean. But we pulled the trigger anyway. Thank you for your patience while I worked on resolving the pagination issue—it’s now fixed as you saw! Regarding the cost, it depends on the API I’m using, and I understand it can become expensive when processing a large number of photos. However, I’m confident it will significantly enhance your customers’ experience on your store 😉

I take product photos of musical instruments against a white background for my Shopify site. But sometimes the background in my photos will come out a little off white, color tinted, or with shadows. The Pxl app does the best job, and is easiest to use, of any background removal tool I've looked at so far. The global settings let you set the background color you prefer (I use transparent), then you just click on your product and you can choose "remove all" backgrounds of that product, or select individual ones. I prefer this option because sometimes my closeup shots are perfect but just my wide shot needs to have a uniform background. Then within a few seconds, you have a perfectly clean copy of your image to post, for a truly professional look. This app is so helpful and time saving, it has really helped my business maintain a uniform look across all my product images. Wow, what a wonderful review! doesn't work well. I removed my images background and the result was super ugly. it is really a shame because this app looked great. but anyway's, it does not preserve image quality except if you pay more credits. I believe this review is unfair, as you only used the app for two minutes, which isn’t enough time to fully explore its features. For example, there’s an HD option to enhance image quality, though it's not enabled by default because it costs 2 credits instead of 1 due to the higher cost on my end. You can also revert photos to their original state with a single click, but it seems you might have missed that given the brief time you used the app. I’ve also sent you an email and would appreciate your reply.

I love the way the app is integrated into Shopify. It's easy to navigate and affordable. Switching to Pxl has saved me time, and it has helped improve the quality of my photos. Best background remover in the web! For me not even adobe is doing it better. Alex is fast in support and he is open for new ideas! One of the beste apps for background removing. Please 1. remove the renaming of images for better SEO 2. give png images a visible BG to see a difference between png and jpg 3. give the option to change format to webp After that you should raise your prices ;) Just kidding of course, your algorithm is awesome! Background Remover by Mr. Axel Hardy works as advertised. Here's a screenshot of my first conversion: https://share.cleanshot.com/qCMMgE Caveat emptor: The app will remove image alt text which, depending on the complexity of your theme, contains code used for image swapping and the like. In this case, the ALT must be added back to the image(s). UPDATE: This app still wipes out ALT text as of 10/17/2022. Update 10/24/2022 : The ALT texts are now correctly kept when a background is removed :-) Thank you so much for your review and for your feedback. Great point about the ALT issue, I'll fix that in the next few days with the new app update, thanks for pointing this out :-)

What a find this app!! We tried all highly recommended tools out there. Online Ai tools, Adobe and so on. Tested them all thoroughly. Somehow we did not look for a solution for this in the Shopify App store. Thinking if those tools cannot do it, then it's probably not possible. Sure to do some basic images, but not more difficult ones. Just to be sure we checked the Shopify App store, and found this App. What a big surprise... All we tested was not even close to what this app can do. And it's connected to our Shopify store. Even the option to set background color, see quick preview, see how it is in the store, download the result if you want and use it anywhere you like. And change back to original when you want other settings. Long story short. Great app!!! Thank you so much for this incredible review. Really great app for removing backgrounds and very responsive and friendly developer! It works just like I hoped it would, even a little better. It's just missing a feature to be able to download the high-res transparent PNG. The developer promised it to be coming soon, can't wait :) Thank you very much for your awesome review. And you will be happy to know that the feature to download the PNG has been implemented in the last version of the app. There is a small download icon on the photos in the app now that will let you download the high-res version of them :)

Every business should have this app!! I think this has to be the most prominent and efficient app for photo editing/ background removal. I would normally spend hours on photoshop to crop out my products for a clean look on the website. With this app, I have the perfect image in a matter of seconds and a click of a button! Not only is the algorithm practically PERFECT, it even allows me to choose my background color! This is so important for those of us that have color backgrounds on our websites. This app is an essential and I highly recommend! The developer is also super friendly and prompt to respond regarding any concerns. I had a question that was answered within 10 minutes along with a resolution. Again, please don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself and thank me later. The BEST thus far! The app does its job efficiently. I needed to do more than 500 photos and Axel gave me a good deal. The app saved me lot of time as the background is removed with a simple click of a button. Had I used a person to do it, it would have taken me ages. Moreover, Axel is quick to response and an amazing guy. He is generous and always ready to help. OBSESSED with this app!!!! Cannot say enough good things about it! I originally had the first version of the app installed, which the output photo quality wasn't the best.....I emailed Axel (the app creator) and he notified me they were working on an HD version! With that being said, he even gave me more credits after the HD version came out, so I could "re-apply" the background removal to the photos I had previously done. Definitely love this, makes uploading bulk product photos so easy where you would need a CLEAN background. SAVES SO MUCH TIME. Worth the cost if you have a ton of photos to upload. Wow, I couldn't expect a better review! Thank you so much and not only for the review but for the suggestions you made that definitely improved the app a lot! This app is a life/time saver! I just had a meeting with my team on Friday about cleaning up our site and removing background images. We had a mix of lifestyle photos and white background photos which was not a clean look. Normally we have to wait a few days for someone else to edit this for us. With this app, I cleaned up around 70 of our photos in less than 3 mins. TIME SAVER!!! I actually bought two sets of 100 credits because I ran out due to some pain points. There is room for improvement like testing a photo for satisifaction with a watermark before losing a credit and a couple of minor things I noticed. You definitely have to keep your eye on your credits because once you use it you lose it. I was just flipping between "remove" and "restore" getting comfy with the app and not realizing that I was losing. I would say out of 70 pics only 3 couldnt remove completely and what was left is fixable with a white marker. I reached out for help and Axel the developer was super responsive and delivered excellent customer service in the weehours of the morning no less. He even resolved my issue in a very favorable way. I shared my user suggestions and it was well received. Glad to know some new things are in the works and I am looking forward to seeing this app grow. Wow. That WAS easy. Our two previous background removal apps were okay. And this one works brilliantly so far! One took time and while they were great at communicating, it took time. We still use them for recolor. The next was fast and not bad, until *poof* they were gone. Merci for making that easy!! Especially in a pandemic, with so many things happening, please know that you made what could have been an "oh f*ck, really!?!?!" moment into an "ahhhhhh, no problem"" moment for one small biz owner.
