When we discovered Bluecheck, it seemed like a promising solution that could streamline our checkout process. The main appeal was its ability to verify customers’ ages in the background—without requiring them to manually enter birthdate details. The verification worked quietly based on the billing address provided, allowing most customers to breeze through checkout without even realizing their age was being confirmed. This seamless experience was exactly what we were looking for, and it’s what ultimately convinced us to switch from agechecker.net. Initially, the customer service was responsive, and we felt confident that we had made the right choice. However, we quickly ran into a major issue: the app was charging multiple verifications for a single transaction. This was caused by our excise tax app, which recalculates taxes every time any customer information is updated—triggering repeated verifications. To Bluecheck’s credit, they caught the issue quickly, acknowledged the error, and issued refunds for the first few months. But that goodwill didn’t last. Several months later, the refunds stopped without explanation, and they began ignoring our emails. We even reached out to let them know we were migrating to a new excise tax app—an ideal time to fix the integration problem. We offered to connect them with the new app’s team to collaborate on a solution, but never received a response. At this point, the lack of communication and support became unacceptable. We’ve now switched back to agechecker.net, which consistently provided reliable service and quick support. If you're considering Bluecheck just for the smoother checkout flow—don’t. It might seem appealing to have age verification work invisibly in the background, but that actually creates a compliance risk. When auditors or regulators review your site, they’ll want to see visible age verification measures. An invisible system offers no reassurance that proper checks are in place. Bottom line: steer clear of Bluecheck. The idea is good, but the execution and support are deeply flawed. Bon - this is hugely disappointing! I (Tabby, head of CS @ BlueCheck) emailed you directly three (3) separate times immediately after you inquired about help with your new excise tax app. In my last email, I indicated that due to no response from you I would cease pinging to not be annoying! On the expertise in Age Verification front: BlueCheck is widely recognized as a leader in this space. We speak with regulators monthly and have clients ranging from Big Tech to mom/pop startups. Our CEO is a board member of the Age Verification Providers Association, IEEE Parental Consent, and IEEE Age Verification standards bodies. We were a referenced partner in the recent Supreme Court case regarding age verification. We only do age verification and we do it extremely well. In June, BlueCheck provided 96% of all orders as fully automated age verification. No clicks, no breaks, just conversions. 98.3% order approval rate with net 218 underage orders blocked. Lastly, if your payment processor was the one who brought up the "invisible" age verification being a tough sell with regulators and they happen to own the company you switched to... well we can connect those dots. We would be happy to work with your team on the excise tax app -- just email me back! We've been in business for over 10 years and are a profitable employee-owned software business that only does age verification tools. List of emails below: June 2nd, June 3rd, June 5th, June 11th. From Huff Puffers: We're in the process of switching our excise tax app that's been causing the double billing issue. Can I loop someone in on your end with the other team to make sure there's no conflicts with the two apps? From BlueCheck (aka Tabby, aka me!), less than 24hrs later: Hi Bon - absolutely, please loop them in and we'll get it solved. Feel free to use this email and I'll be happy to help however we can. June 5th, BlueCheck: Hi Bon - following up on this, please let me know if we can help here. June 11th, BlueCheck: Hi Bon - just checking in to see if there's anything further we can assist with regarding the app integration. Let us know how we can help! I'll stop pinging after this but want to make sure we are being responsive to helping however we can.
Customer service went above and beyond to make our customization work. The app is just what we needed to have more control over shipping and payment options with complex rules based on our business needs. Shout to Sam who was patient and beyond helpful setting up our custom checkout rules.

At first this app seemed so promising. All the right reports, features and data points. After the initial excitement of finding a reliable inventory management reporting app, we found that it was way too slow to use. Reports took way too long to generate and navigating the app took eons to load after every click or would straight out give an error message that the data or report couldn't be loaded.

Awesome, speedy support. Simple app that does exactly what you need it to do and support immediately helped fix some issues when we ran into trouble.
Overall not a bad product, but not great. It'll have to do until we can afford to pay 10K to have a nice website built for us. The main issue with this app is that it doesn't track inventory for common variants like size, or color. So the type of options you can realistically use with this app is limited. Their customer service is responsive though and they offered a work around. The work around was to create a duplicate hidden product, but the problem is it shows the same item twice in the cart, and at the very end at check out, its removed since its a hidden product. Very confusing for buyers to click add to cart for 1 item, and see it appear twice in their cart, so that didn't work. This app is awesome to use for adding options like "accessories" though. With the premium version, it shows "total extras" for any additional add-ons your customer chooses, which is pretty cool.
