UPDATE: The app developer is not telling the truth in their reply. We never asked for a refund and we never threatened their staff. Please contact me directly and I can send you screenshots of the conversation. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The app used to be subscription only. Now their billing is $15 / month PLUS 1.5% of the revenue of the sale. Why?? What additional value are they bringing to their service? The app has already been built and nothing has changed in the app. What entitles this company to 1.5% of all revenue ran through the app? They are a parasitic company that hopes you do not see that you can just upgrade to Shopify Plus. Shopify Plus offers the same features without ahving to upgrade to Depo's "Enterprise" version to eliminate the 1.5% (B.S.) Revenue Share. Again, what value does this company bring that entitles them to 1.5% of orders? This company hopes you have a "Set it and forget it" mentality and don't come back to check. The best way to effect change is to uninstall the app until they correct their pricing to be FAIR. First of all i would like to make sure the app developers be aware of this business. They will ask for a refund and if you don't give they will threaten to leave a review and then leave one. Secondly we have already reported this business and their owner to Shopify as they do not respect app developers. They were repeatedly threathening our support people and when we stood up they have given this review. Finally hopefully before subscribing to apps they will see and understand what are the charges. We have to run a business and feed our employees and our family. We have 1000s of customers in our plan and does not have any issue with the subscription charges as that's how the charges are.
I didn’t give this a 1-star review because I did successfully use this plugin to process hundreds of pre-order payments. However, the plugin has a lot of serious bugs. First, the loading speed is extremely slow. If users quickly click “Buy” or “Add to cart” before the pre-order script fully loads, they may end up being charged the full price instead of the pre-order price. Second, even after I disabled the plugin, as long as it wasn’t fully uninstalled, it still randomly created pre-order orders using Depo. Third, all pre-orders created through Depo could not properly trigger confirmation emails when users paid the remaining balance. This may be due to a logic conflict where a confirmation email was already sent after the initial deposit payment. As a result, none of my customers received a final confirmation email after completing the full payment. I contacted support about all of these issues, but none of them were resolved. Because of that, I’m giving this a 2-star review. Honestly, I wanted to give it 1 star, but I’m being generous here.
This App is brilliant; I can now offer payment plans and have increased sales since implementing them. Also, their support is amazing if you need it. I would definitely recommend using Depo.

Wow, just noticed someone else mentioned that their description is misleading regarding free plan available. that is very true, there is not free app available, I am removing app. and have asked them to edit their description and state that there is NO FREE PLAN. THIS IS FAKE!!!!!
So far working well, reasonable rate for what you get. support is very responsive and helpful. Worth the subscription I am paying for the tool.

This app is a lifesaver for COD orders. Our major challenge in the Indian market has been returns on COD orders. By using Depo, we started charging a small upfront amount on COD orders. Considering the high order value for AOV above 15,000, charging 1,000 INR per COD order has increased our revenue and reduced our COD returns to zero. We have been using the app for more than five months, and the support team is very helpful. They are available on chat within minutes, and if we face any queries or issues, they help us resolve them efficiently. It is a must have app for all platforms looking to minimize COD returns.
The app is great and takes deposits for new orders. However be warned that the app also takes a fee from any manual orders taken through the website. For example if you use the website to track orders and someone pays you via bank transfer they'll also take a fee from this as well. I don't believe this to be fair. Just a word of warning to anyone looking into using this app. If you setup a manual order for 10,000 for example and accidently clicked "Payment Made" you'll be charged their fee

It doesn't work well on my website. It's always garbled and it doesn't work every time I refresh it, affecting the normal operation of the website. I waited for them to provide a solution and there was no response for a long time. If it is an unreasonable APP, please don't waste customers' time.
Their customer service team was very helpful. They helped us solved our logo issue to be placed in the invoice every time we send invoice reminder to customers.
This was way easier than I anticipated plus someone contacts you right away to meet and help you with any questions you have in the app.

This app is very easy to set up. The team was very helpful when I had a few questions on my initial set up call. I would highly recommend this app for taking deposits for new product launches or any else you would need to have a deposit made to start and complete any work or service you provide.

This App does a good job of allowing customers to leave a deposit on pre-orders for stuff that may need some time be manufactured. Just keep a close eye on edited orders. Customer service has been great though. I never leave reviews but their support has been able to get me online within 24 hrs for whatever issues i have.

We sell products online in Shopify while also having a robust custom and whole sale business. We have been managing billing and payments for these different revenue streams in 3 different systems with no team cross-training. This of course has been rife with redundancy, miscommunication and misbilling. We needed a solution to make all of the ways we bill possible through a single system (Shopify). Once found, Depo implementation literally took minutes. I am a cave person so I ran into a very dumb user error but Depo's chat team coached me easily, quickly and patiently. If Depo works as simply and effectively as it seems to so far it will be the most effective streamline in our workflow to date.
Great product, allows for customers to place a deposit on a product to reserve it. Customer support is very fast when needed.

I will give 5 stars for the awesome on the fly service they just provided. I asked if they could change the text 'part payment' to 'Deposit' on product page and they did it in 3 minutes! Thought it was a long shot. Have yet to try full features... but that's a good start. Thanks Priyanshu.
Excellent support through and through. Responsive, and super helpful - had a minor glitch with something not working on our website, engineering team hopped straight on it and we are now able to process our "Try Before you Buy" orders.

We are super happy with the products and support of our split payment requirements using this app for our business.
Customers like the option of being able to split payments. The Depo app does this easily making it a positive customer experience. The backend reporting is easy for the shop owner. Wonderful customer service on setup.
This has been very useful for taking deposits on products and then easily requesting the remaining amount. The tech support has been very responsive, kind and helpful.

We have replied several times and asked for the order numbers as well but no response from your end. If you can send us the order numbers we can help otherwise it's not possible for our team to help. Stating we have fake 5 star review is insulting and this can lead to banning from the app. Please don't insult our hard work
Amazing app! It really adds some functionality that should have been built into Shopify by default. Creating full or partial payments on out-of-stock items, without the need to change the product settings and make the products available for everyone. This way, you can send draft orders for build to order products to specific costumers. It's also available on the Shopify POS. So while Shopify has no solution for “special orders”, Deposits & Split Payments-Depo makes this possible. Having the possibility to charge costumers a percentage of the product as a down payment makes it even better! Support is blazing fast and 24/6 available. Very happy with the app.
The app duplicate orders every payment taken, to the point where your accounting is a nightmare and you don't understand what is paid and what is not. WHAT IS MORE SERIOUS, it affects your shopping cart. My customers were unable to checkout!!! The problem remained after removing the app. I was forced to install a backup of the theme which I had ( I always do a backup) . Do not recommend

Our app doesn't duplicate orders neither does it add anything to the theme. Everything is done automatically and removed as soon as the app is uninstalled. You must have faced the issue with another app and blaming it on our app. If you want we can help you fix the issue. Thanks
From the beginning, the Deposits and Split Payments-Depo app and the customer service provided to us by SidePanda has been fantastic. We started with a free plan - for which we were given assistance to set-up , which was excellent. As we progressed in developing our online store SidePanda have worked with us to develop a custom app that helps us collect our specific data sets from online orders and handle the unique needs of our doing business. SidePanda have been a wonderful surprise along the way in building our online store - I can't tell you how much pressure they have taken away from specific parts of the process that were causing great difficulty. They listened and understood what we needed, then provided us a perfect solution tailored to our needs, within a short space of time. Their communication and support is excellent as is their product - I can't fault these guys and have no hesitation in recommending them as absolute professionals.
The Depo app works brilliantly and integrates with systems without slowing it down or causing issues. I highly recommend it.
The only deposit app i was able to find in Shopify. Works great and does the job. Would definitely recommend
Install this and your "Add to Cart" button will stop working everywhere except an individual product page. If you're using it on individual products instead of the whole cart, you will be redirected to the checkout page upon adding a product... go back to continue shopping and your cart will be empty. In both cases whether adding partial payments to an individual product or to the whole cart, you can forget about any kind of discount code. Good luck. Talked with support for this app and only certain discount types will work--fine, I'll workaround and use the types that are supported. Those do show up but ARE NOT APPLIED at checkout. Seems like maybe an okay-at-best app if you only want to use the base functionality and always expect to use this on the entire cart. Otherwise, unusable. One star from me until the developers are able to solve these problems. Uninstalling.
This app does not work well. Once you install it, it will change your order's name sequence and mark previous draft orders as completed.

Hello, We checked our backlog and we can see that you used our app for 6 minutes. You did not even went past the onboarding screen and mentioned our app changes order name and marks previous order as completed. Our app doesn't even touch those parts of the Shopify store and since you did not even do a test booking our app was not even used. Thanks
I make semi customized items. This app helps create a perfect solution for taking deposits before starting my work. I had one hiccup after installing the app where the customers were only able to add one item at a time to the cart. After reaching out to the developers they responded in under 5 minutes and had it fixed shortly thereafter. Excellent product and excellent support
I use this app to take a upfront payment for a service in the future. This app works perfectly. At first the formatting was a little off, but the support team at Depo is extremely helpful and responsive. I use their Appointo app as well, and the two apps work together perfectly. I highly suggest this app, and working with the SidePanda team.
This is such a great app to help our store, the support group, and the tech end are both such great help. Pretty straight forward app to use especially if you're transitioning from manual orders to online orders. Personally, I saw a decline in my sales once I transitioned but this app helped my business tremendously. Now, my clients are able to make partial payments or deposits so its not one lump sum. Customer service was incredible. All my questions and issues were addressed and fixed. I am really impressed, I've been searching for an app like this. Definitely recommending!
After trialling and testing every other partial payment and preorder app, this app was the only one which was able to meet my needs. The team of support were readily able to assist me and even custom edit some of their features to suite my particular needs. I definitely recommend!
