After getting inexplicably disconnected from our chat, I appreciated that Sher reached out via email to help me sort my issue. Thanks so much!
I have been using mailchimp for a few years. It offers affordable plans for small business like me for a start. There are a lot of functions in the app, the more functions and more subscribers you have, the higher the subscription fees. What I like about the app is their customer service. They provide real person to support me in the chatbox. I had trouble with my setting and customer service Nadz was very helpful and guided me through the whole process. I also had trouble with my billing, there were extra charge once my contact exist 1500. The system does not send any email notification by default, so i learned that I have to check the billing cycle in the app very often to ensure that I don't get charged extra. Again, I got customer service to attend to my query.
good, Mary helped me even when my computer had to be restarted twice, she was there when I logged back in.
Jean reached out to me to help with the integration when I was having trouble with webshop subscribers. They were helpful and eager to figure things out, but as it was already almost midnight my end, I asked them to email me to follow up the problem with fresh eyes. During initial troubleshooting, however, I tried to reinstall the plugin on Shopify, and that's where everything went wrong overnight - the plugin assigned all my past customers as new customers, and they all got pushed through an automation receiving incorrect emails from me. It's thankfully all fixed now, but the extra work wasn't great. Perhaps the plugin should have a warning about this, or at-least check order dates and only process new customers added from the moment the plugin installs? That's why 4/5 stars. This was unnecessary.
Great app, used for over 10 years and good customer service and quick replies - only once you reach out to them a few times (that's my experience). There is always room for iprovement the in app customer service was a little slow to respond, so I think fix that and you'll get more 5 star ratings.
I found Customer Support Representative, Nadz, extremely helpful and Patient in rectify my issue. Thanks Nadz
Works fine out of the box. The only thing i had troubles with is with the combination of the shopify standard newsletter signup form and editing or adding tags, to create the mailchimp automation flow i want. The Support of Nadz was very helpful to explore different ways to find a solution.
We have been using Mailchimp since starting the business and it has helped us greatly with marketing and newsletters. The Shopify integration was super easy to set up and when we did need help Cyrus on the support team got us sorted straight away. Highly recommend.
Customer support by Cyrus was very professional and helpful.
Paul from customer support was extremely helpful with getting my issue escalated to a developer.
Easy installation although a bug of some sort prevented embedding app into Shopify theme initially. Lance with support was super helpful in working through this and issue was resolved same-day. Too early to evaluate the plugin as we just installed it but appreciate the help getting over the hurdle.
Jean helped me with logging in, was a very simple task but she took her time to help me and was very kind and patience! So great customer service!
Nadz was very helpful and patient with us. The app itself is proving to be quite challenging so I would strongly encourage getting support.
The app is pretty simplistic but has the features we need. Joanne was helpful and timely in addressing my issue and looking into it.
I've been using this app and it's very easy to navigate but I had issues with the integration of the app and my online store but i had a very good experience with customer support (Sher). I'm hoping for smooth workflow from here on in.
Support was quick to respond and assist with the request. Thanks SEPH
Works well. A few minor sync bugs, but otherwise excellent. J And Jay Ann provides great support!
Customer support with Mailchimp is comprehensive and easy using their chat feature. I had an issue connecting my Shopify store and my assistant Marz was supremely helpful, walking me through every step of the process. Even when we got disconnected, by simply typing their name into the chat I was immediately reconnected and didn't have to explain my issue again to another agent. While it took some time, Marz stuck with me the whole time, and made the process less confusing. Won't hesitate to reach out for support in the future.
David is helpful, we weren't able to fix my issue but he said he would escalate it further.
Good app, simple to use, and great support. We had problems with our embedded form not updating customers' tags, Sher from their support team was very resourceful and helped us resolved the issue
Dean, was very helpful in solving our problem in bot traffic.
I'm still learning about the app as a new user, but so far pretty intuitive and easy to use app. Would love to have more flexibility and options with the email creation, but once I learn more maybe i will discover more features. Also, I have received very good support and help from Cyrus whilst having an issue with Shopify connection.
Excellent customer service, we are too small to use mailchimp but they have always been super helpful.
Having an issue currently, but the Seph from the support team was very responsive over live chat. It was easy to set up. Hopefully we'll get the outstanding part resolved quickly.
overall I think mailchimp is a good email platform. There are things that are missing that I assume they are working on such as phone number collecting in pop-up forms, and even ensuring real phone numbers and emails are submitted in a form before showing the discount code. Not a fan of the forms as of right now, but I do like how easy it is to build emails and set everything up. I am going to keep it for the free trial and see how it goes. I did work a lot with David who was SUPER helpful with getting things set up and answering my questions on the form stuff. Vey much appreciated his help!
JEAN in customer service helped me with integrations to Shopify :)
David from the customer support team helped me a lot with troubleshooting. Thank you David!
It has been a bit fiddly to get it going properly, but it is working really well
Great support from Jay and Rafael when I had issues with my Shopify integration. They guided me through to resolve the issue.
I'm sure that Aaron was doing exactly as he'd been trained, but I need more hand-holding than was offered. He was particularly nice and in the end, my needs were met. The help links are so circlular that it feels impossible to actually do the task one might go to find help for. Being directed to those links after exploring them extensively is frustrating, but Aaron was a darling and patient with me.
Great, quick and knowledgable customer service. Have used MC for years without too many issues. Thanks!
Pretty good. Functions well but a little pricey. Support is pretty good.
The in-app chat was very helpful. RAFAEL's service was excellent. Thank you.
I have had an awful experience with Mailchimp until I spoke with Troy. I had a 14 day trial and wanted to try out some specific features of the subscription. I had a tech call but the person wasn't able to help me and said it was passed on. I did try to explore more but was left with no resolve. I had account call, great guy but he couldn't help me with my concern, Days went by, I emailed and sent messages to no avail. I then finished my trial and was billed!!! Very disappointed I reached out AGAIN!!! This time I got Troy, he was very helpful and patient. The issue was a complicated one and took 2 sessions to resolve it. he made himself available to me and provided me with as much information as possible to ensure the matter was sorted. If I got a new trial I would really reconsider using them long term. It could have been teething problems BUT it almost cost you a customer.
For the most part working with Troy on the chat was the easiest experience I've had with a chat app.
I have only just started using the app. I needed some help with initial setup and Troy was really helpful.
All good, but I think she needs to know and ask a little bit more before giving any recommendation.
CLARISSE was very helpful and patient to solve our problem.
Clarisse was Helpful, and has forwarded my issue onto a department to help me.
Overall the app has pretty much everything you need, but I do find that there are times where I'm not able to accomplish what I need to. In terms of customer service, it's great! David was very nice and responsive and was able to give me answers very quick.
DAVID was able to help me edit an automatic email and provided help with the amount of time before the pop-up appears on the website.
I love the integration, it makes emailing easier and less time consuming. I love the product recommendations, however I did have issues with it pulling archived and drafted products once or twice. When I reached out to MailChimp they were helpful and seemed to very much want to fix these issues. Although a few things need to be fixed here and there, this emailer is the best one I have used so far. I love the analytics and overall ability to improve every email.
Even though we did not get anything solved, Paul was very helpful.
Lori has been really helpful solving my problems with the Shopify integration
So far so good

Thank you for the review! Let us know if there's feedback we can pass along.
Mailchimp has been a good service integrating with Shopify. As with any saas integration across two platforms there are always going to have a few issues. But both sides are always quick to rectify. I particularly would like to point out the customer success managers from mailchimp. We've had two stellar ones so far who are high on communication and helping us use all the tools available.

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear about your experience with our Customer Success team.
Between the instructions on Shopify and MailChimp, setting up was fairly easy to do. MailChimp seems a little confusing to use because there are so many options available. Hopefully in time and with enough "playing" with it, I'll figure it all out and it the complexity will be a non-issue.

Hey there! If you need help learning more about the application, email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com and our team can help further.
So far, it's pretty good. However I had to manually type my contacts from Shopify to export it to Mailchimp. So that could have been easier.

Hey Beatta! We'd like to get more details on this to see where we can improve. Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com with additional information and they'll follow up.
Creating templates can be difficult. This one template I created doesn’t allow me to put the name of the product underneath the picture and the picture placement is off

Our team can help you find the right template layout! Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com and our support team will review then follow up.
My experience with Mail Chimp is great so far! Integrating it with my Shopify store is really easy and the interface is easy to navigate too
Hi, I created a new Shopify account and when Installing Mailchimp I tried to connect it to a new audience but it Synced to the old existing one. I want to separate customers from the old site and the new site.... Why did this happen? Thank you, Alain

Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and it sounds like your issue may be related to a browser caching issue. We'd suggest clearing your cookies/cache, using an Incognito window or trying another browser entirely. If the problem persists, don't hesitate to contact us for further troubleshooting at https://mailchimp.com/help/
It was unfortunate that our issue was not resolved, the CS team was very responsive and supportive.
The synchronisation was very good. You can also directly create a pop up. Now it's waiting what I can do in the futur with this app. But a good beginning is a quick win
So far so good. I just did it to sync to Mailchimp and my store does not have a lot of data to mess up so lets hope it stays that way. It took less than 10 minutes to get the sync. Thanks, DSQ
After my initial comment, Shopsync support contacted me and provided instructions on how to resolve the issue. Short answer, use Force Sync after attempting to just clear the browser cache. So my problem is resolved. Original comment below: I'm new to ecommerce and I'm just setting up my store and integrations. One App I've installed is ShopSync to keep customer info synchronized with my Mailchimp account. It appears that after the initial sync of customers that expressed interest on the store password page, further customers have not been sync'd. There are 59 new customers since the initial sync that are in the Shopify customers that are not migrated to Mailchimp. I have gone through the troubleshooting, including changing to using Chrome with all browser data cleared. Isn't this supposed to be a background process that links my Shopify store and my Mailchimp account? What does my browser have to do with it? I haven't done a forced sync as that is discouraged. Any advice on how to get this working?
Easy to use but double opt-in doesn't seems to work. Even if activated, the users are automatically subscribed without confirmation.
I have mostly enjoyed using this app and it is very helpful to be able to keep using Mailchimp. However this app has one huge flaw. I have learned after a year of using it, that it unsubscribes your most engaged followers and purchasers when they purchase from your store. That is unless they re-tick your receive emails button. Why would a customer who knows they receive your emails sign up again? I wouldn't do that...we all want smaller inboxes these days and so you would not do it. We use Mailchimp so our customers will have used a double opt in at sign up and they also have an unsubscribe button with each marketing email they receive. I think we cover the issue correctly, so it seems that this is over zealous interpretation of the situation. So as it stands I may lose the ability to contact customers who have previously signed up for our emails because of this system. I have seen other comments on this topic in the reviews. Please help Shopsync, thank you as your app is moslty great but this is really affecting our ability to communicate with regular purchasers and it takes way less money and time and effort to covert someone who has previously purchased from us. We are advised to concentrate on selling to existing customers as well as new ones. Thank you so much!

Hi there, thank you for the feedback. The problem here is more complicated than it seems with repeat customers. When Shopify sends the order to us via their API, we can only see their marketing status at the time of the most recent checkout. We have to take that as "the truth" at that moment and apply logic to the submission into Mailchimp. We would hope that repeat customers would always want to remain opted in, but obviously, that's not realistic. For example, maybe a customer signs up for a promo and decides on their next checkout, they no longer want to be on your list. Unfortunately, there's no great way for us to know what the customer's intentions are other than taking what Shopify gives us at that time. The happy medium in this situation is to mark them as Transactional in Mailchimp if they do not opt-in at checkout the next time around. That way, you can still trigger abandoned carts, order updates, etc. We made this update in December of last year. You can see version v1.1.4 rolled out on the 20th that now works in the manner described on our changelog: https://shopsync.io/changelog. If it's permitted in your country, you could consider pre-selecting the opt-in box. You would need to check with your local regulatory agencies to see if that's something that is allowed.
I thought my installation was done with Mailchimp since Mailchimp dissapeared from Shopify, but I just click on the ShopSync app and shows it is not connected. A message with "Temporary Installation Cookie Must Be Set Your browser is preventing the installation of ShopSync. A temporary cookie must be set by clicking here." comes up, but after clicking and refreshing nothing happens and the app still does not work. Please help UPDATE: The problem was solved and it was indeed related to the browser. Thank you!

Hi Stona, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and it sounds like your issue may be related to a browser caching issue or just a temporary problem with Shopify's app store. We'd suggest clearing your cookies/cache or trying another browser entirely. If the problem persists, don't hesitate to contact us for further troubleshooting at support@shopsync.io.
I used it to connect my mail chimp account and worked good. I been using it for three weeks, so there might be some features that I havent try at this time
So far so good. I had some problems setting it up, but the ShopSync team was much more helpful than Mailchimp's team. The app seems to do what it says it will do and I haven't had any problems once I've been up and running
I used this app to help with Shopify and MailChimp no longer being directly compatible. I saw a few issues people had had with implementing this app so I did my homework. After comparing apps, reading all the FAQs, and verifying some things with the VERY helpful support staff, I synced up and am now all good. I was confused initially thinking I could only have one list. Not so, only one list can be synced, which has always been the case with MailChimp. Great step by step install instructions. The only confusions were with just how easy the switch-over to this app was.
Smooth and easy transition. No issues. Glad I'm still able to use Mailchimp after all. Thank you ShopSync. Haven't been able to test all features yet except for Mailchimp integration and Discount Code sync which is why I only rated 4 stars but pretty sure I'll be giving it 5 stars once I have had a chance :-)

Most welcome! Anything we can do on our end to update the rating to be 5 stars? Let us know at support@shopsync.io, happy to help anytime.
This app worked for me as the new Mailchimp integration however, my audience count doubled on the day I installed it. There are no duplicate contacts but the counts are doubled and the analytics for install day show a doubling. What's going on? I hope my audience isn't being hit with double emails. Can someone from support respond? Additionally, can't find a way to communicate with ShopSync support. I appreciate the explanation of what went wrong. It would be very helpful if you could tell me how to correct the issue.

Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to get in touch. Up until late yesterday (4/3/19), our app was engineered to include past customers who "Accept email marketing", orders, and products in Shopify. If they showed unsubscribed in Shopify, we ignored the email. In other words, we looked at Shopify as the "truth" and nothing else. Although our intentions for this were done for all the right reasons, it, unfortunately, didn't work for everyone as you saw with your subscriber counts going up. With how we used to perform the initial sync, it would have been possible to re-subscribe users if they had opted out from a Mailchimp list previously. Or, it's also possible the old integration missed real subscribers. Now, we've changed up how we handle the data from Shopify to Mailchimp on the initial sync. Here's more information on how it works: Before any data is processed by ShopSync, we perform integrity checks with Mailchimp to ensure these customers can be sent to the list that is connected. For example, if someone opted out of a list in the past, we won't add the email again. We'll also update Shopify with the correct status that Mailchimp shows. That way, the most current subscriber status in Mailchimp is synced with the store. After the initial sync is complete, we'll continue adding customers, orders, and products from your store to Mailchimp as transactions occur. We'll add customers that visit your store who are deemed transactional as well. That way, you can use Mailchimp's automations to trigger abandoned carts and order notifications. If someone unsubscribes from a Mailchimp campaign or automation in the future, we'll sync the opt-out status back to Shopify and vice versa. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, let us know if you have any follow up questions. We can be reached anytime at support@shopsync.io.
The install was easy enough. However, I had over 200 new emails show up in my list which in incredibly disconcerting from data management and privacy perspective. Who are these people? Did they opt-in? Why weren't they on my list before? Now I have to cull through the data to figure out the details, which is time consuming and not the best use of my time. Glad for the third-party connection, but only time will tell if all the syncing happens seamlessly or not.
