Edited 10/15/20: There aren't a lot of apps I would come back three times for, but Lay-Buys has been a favorite of ours for a long time now (see below). Our customers love it, it increases our average order size, and it costs us NOTHING, ever. I can't recommend any app more, so I've come back to let readers know that we've been using it since 2016 and find it crucial to our success and growth. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by installing this one for your customers! Edited 1/25/18: We've been using this app for 18 months now, and it has increased both our sales and our cart size very noticeably. We currently have over 24 orders on the Lay Buys program, which shows how much customers appreciate it! Many of these orders are from repeat customers who were very happy using it the first time and have come back for more collectibles, using it again to help budget those larger purchases. I see a couple reviews stating that the app slows down page load, but it does not slow down loading on our site, so perhaps they're mistaken about the cause of their slow load? We've had no issue with the app's operation, and it remains one of our most valuable add-ons to our Shopify site in terms of increased revenue. We've contacted Lay Buys support a few times with questions or to request tweaks to the app and Warrin always responds promptly with the help or feature we've requested. Truly, we couldn't be happier! And all this comes at zero cost to us, and very little cost to the customer? It's a huge win all around! Original review was in 2016: I waited to write this review until we saw a completed transaction using it. Our first use was a $900+ purchase, and it went smoothly for both the customer and for us. We both received notifications every step of the way, and she received a notice a couple days in advance of the monthly payment date so she knew when it would be coming out. That's perfect. When the final payment was made, she got a thank-you, and we got notice that the order was completed and can now be fulfilled. With no charge to the merchant (how refreshing!) and a minimal charge to the customer - less than one percent, this app has jumped up my favorite list quickly! We now have two of Eric's apps so I can tell you without a doubt that he is a superb developer with amazing customer service skills. Based in the US, so language is never an issue, he goes so far above and beyond simply selling apps: He answers questions personally, sends out a great little blog-style email that offers ideas and motivation in a fun, personable way, and keeps a database of articles he's written that easily answer more technical questions. His apps? Love them. Be aware that with JSON-LD, because of the way Google works, you install it and wait... up to 8 weeks... for Google to start adding your rich snippets to their search pages. That's probably the hardest thing ever for a "get it done now" online store owner, but Google does what it wants. You're providing it the tools to make your site look awesome in search; then you just have to wait for them to update your search listings. My recommendation: Install it now so those 4-8 weeks are already on the timer, and you'll be looking great in search very soon. Ours are starting to show up sporadically now (about 4 weeks in) on a few pages, and it really increases our site's legitimacy to search engine viewers.

Updated 2/6/18: We've been using this app for quite a while now, and I want everyone to know that it's become completely indispensable as our business has grown. We have over 20 orders on a payment plan, over 50 pre-orders, and dozens in another program we run... Without this app, we'd spend countless hours scrolling through Shopify's Order screen to make sure we didn't miss shipping anything that needs to ship. With this app, we know at a glance what's going on with each order, and the only ones we have to look at in the morning are those that we haven't yet set a status for! I can't believe I haven't reviewed this until now... Everyone needs to know what an amazing app this is. I run almost twenty apps on our store, but this is one I couldn't run it without! We offer some special programs for our customers, like delayed shipping so they can combine orders, layaway, etc., and filling orders on Shopify meant going through each order to remind ourselves if it needed to be shipped or was supposed to stay unfulfilled for now. With this app, we can view all of our unfulfilled orders with a status tag next to them, so we immediately know which need to ship and which are enrolled into a program here. If they're in a program (like on a payment plan), we can easily skip over them for now... It saves a lot of time for a two-person business! Support was amazing when we set it up, and we haven't needed them since. The app works perfectly and is one of very few that I'm happy to pay the (very reasonable) monthly fee for!

We had a different app doing this (SalesPop) but it was slowing down page loads. I tried this one and it loads quickly and has more customization options. A real person was available for live chat support immediately when we installed it, which was also great, just in case I had issues, but I had it customized and tested in just over 1 minute. Does what we want it to perfectly! Thanks for making a great free app!

Before trying Shippo, I used usps.com, then stamps.com, then another shipping app made for Shopify. None of them saved me money on shipping, despite their claims. Shippo is the only app I've used that actually saves me a noticeable amount! It's easy to use, keeps track of everything in case you forget to record it for your bookkeeping records, and automatically updates your Shopify orders with tracking info, so that Shopify can send your customer shipping notification with tracking. I've looked at Shopify's new shipping app and as it stands today, Shippo is still better! Edited on 11/7/2017: Just want to say that we're still using and LOVING Shippo. I can't believe it's been two years already, but what a huge difference they've made for our business. Shipping is streamlined and has saved us an incredible amount of money these last two years. We still highly recommend them!!!

I'd give this app ten stars if I could! We've been begging Shopify to fix an issue with their item scheduling feature for almost two years, and they haven't been able to do it, yet SAIO has. Here's my problem: We have a collectibles store, with new inventory going live every Friday night, and currently almost a thousand items online. Because of the quantities we deal with, I write listings in batches and schedule them well ahead of time. Unfortunately, Shopify orders "new" items by the date their listing is written, not when they're published, so items I wrote two months ago show up way back in the "new" section, and often get missed. This app fixes that problem, and was so quick and easy to use that I had to check our site to see if it had really worked! I literally only answered a couple of questions to set it up, and then added the newly created collection to our front page. I can't speak highly enough about this app! Our customers are going to be thrilled that we've fixed this problem and they can see just items that were published recently. I expect this to increase our sales incrementally. I was a little worried, considering the first review left for this app, but I can assure everyone that whatever issue that person had has been corrected. I added this app to our store and in less than a minute I was able to put a whole category on sale. To fully test it, I then deleted the sale and made sure items went back to regular price. They did - It works perfectly and super efficiently. I love that we can post more than one sale at once, setting priorities to insure that everything is priced correctly - and even this is easy to do with this app. With all the sales listed on one screen, it's easy to see what's happening on our store and start, schedule or end sales. We have almost a thousand items on our store, so this is going to take the hassle out of running sales, which is great news for our customers! This is the app I've been searching for since we opened our Shopify store! Subcategories were always impossible to create, yet so important to making shopping easier for customers. Uncomplicated Menus allows you to create subcategories (several levels of them, if you wish!) that will help your customers find what they're looking for with a single click. We have almost 900 items in our store, and people were missing a lot of what we carry because there was no easy way to find it. Within 24 hours of installing this app, we had our first order for two items we'd carried for six months! That's the best testimonial possible, in my opinion. The developer has done an outstanding job both in coding this app and in creating a great instructional video. His app itself is very easy to use, but of course, it relies on you creating menus on the Shopify Navigation page, which can be tricky if you're not familiar with that. His video will guide you through it in plain English, and you'll have superb menus for your customers in no time. Now that I've seen it work, and generate orders, I can't imagine running our store without it.

Wow, I struggled with Shopify's default option set-up for a week and couldn't get it to work for the custom-made dream catchers we want to list. There were more feather colors than Shopify allowed. When I contacted Shopify Support, one of their awesome folks recommended that I try this app. The app installed with a single push of the button, and I had all my feather colors and central adornments up on our dream catcher page in less than five minutes! It couldn't have been easier. Thanks so much, Shop Pad, for making this great app, and making it free for us small businesses! Everyone who collects something knows the challenge of the holidays: All you really want are new items for your collection, but friends and family are afraid to buy anything because they're not sure what you want or already have. Since we sell to collectors, this app is perfect for us. Customers easily add items to a wish list, then they can email (or send by Facebook, etc) their wish list to friends and family. They get what they want, buyers are thrilled to know they're buying something that will be cherished, and we get the sales! Everyone's happy! Additionally, since each of our products is listed as a quantity of 1 online (because condition makes each one unique), if an item sells, it is removed from wish lists automatically, avoiding confusion. Kundan installed the app for me, since I'm not tech saavy, and made it match our site's look and color scheme. It works perfectly and is the only app we're currently willing to pay a monthly fee for.
