The app does what it says it will do. Doesn’t seem to slow down the site and support has been reactive and helpful. Edit on Aug 17th: Again some customers have been able to checkout without ticking the accept the terms and conditions box. Unfortunately we need this to work 100% of time and not 98%

Overpriced, slow, and not designed for real retail use We have been using Shopify for over 8 years, and switched to Shopify POS Pro 6 months ago for our gallery in Sitges after more than 2.5 years using Square, which worked flawlessly: fast, intuitive, and perfectly adapted to retail operations. The decision to move to Shopify POS was driven by the need to centralize inventory and connect in-store and online sales. On paper, it made sense. In reality, the experience has been consistently frustrating. ⸻ 1. Pricing is completely disconnected from value Shopify offers its core e-commerce platform starting at around €29/month, yet charges €79/month per location for POS Pro just to unlock basic retail features. The standard POS version is simply not usable in a professional context: no proper sales reporting no breakdown by payment method (cash vs card) no staff attribution These are not advanced features. They are the minimum expected in any POS system. ⸻ 2. Slow and inefficient user experience The app feels sluggish in daily use: slow navigation between screens delays when switching between products, cart, and checkout lack of fluidity during busy store moments In retail, speed is critical. This directly impacts customer experience. ⸻ 3. Sales data is not usable in real time sales statistics take a long time to update no reliable real-time view of performance difficult to reconcile daily revenue With Square, everything was instant and clear. Here, it feels delayed and unreliable. ⸻ 4. Reporting limitations (especially without POS Pro) impossible to properly track total revenue in the free version no clear breakdown by payment method confusing tax-inclusive vs tax-exclusive reporting For a physical store, this is a major issue. ⸻ 5. Inventory management from POS is unnecessarily complex Adjusting stock directly from the POS is: not intuitive too many steps not designed for quick retail operations This should be simple and fast. It is neither. ⸻ 6. Missing basic usability features Despite being available on mobile devices: no biometric login (fingerprint / Face ID) for staff no fast user switching for sellers This makes daily use slower and less secure than it should be. ⸻ 7. Not a true retail product Shopify POS feels like an add-on to an e-commerce platform, not a tool built for real-world retail. After years with Square, the difference is clear: Square is fast, retail-first, and reliable Shopify POS is slower, restricted, and overpriced ⸻ When opening our second gallery, we naturally considered rolling out POS Pro there as well. At €79 per month per location for this level of functionality, the answer was a clear no. After 8 years using Shopify, this is particularly disappointing. We adopted Shopify POS to simplify operations, but it is adding friction instead. If this does not improve significantly, it will push us to reconsider our entire reliance on Shopify, including for e-commerce. We value well-designed, fairly priced tools and do not appreciate feeling locked into an ecosystem where essential functionality is either missing or unreasonably priced.

Thank you for this detailed feedback. We appreciate that you have used Shopify for so many years. Your direct comparison to Square and specific points about POS Pro pricing, app performance, real-time data, reporting limitations, and missing features like biometric login provide valuable perspective on professional retail needs. We appreciate you sharing this comprehensive review and are always trying to improve the Shopify POS App.

Very difficult to use. Conditions are not easy to understand. AI could certainly help if it could create full flow following our requests / description. Also not being able to edit an existing flow by adding condition in teh middle of a flow is really not handy (you may add a new condition, but you can't link it to the rest of the flow / you must recreate all the flow from scratch)

REPEATED BUGS, POOR IMPLEMENTATION, AND CRITICAL TRACKING FAILURE — DISAPPOINTING Update (June 2025): This review replaces our original 5-star rating from December. We are now downgrading our rating due to a series of unresolved issues, misleading support communication, and the discovery of serious flaws that impacted both performance and analytics integrity. We’ve used Hulk Wishlist for over 6 months on a Shopify store and encountered a disturbing mix of bugs, bloated scripts, and tracking interference — all of which remained undiagnosed or ignored by support for months. ⸻ New and critical discovery: Hidden script injections caused tracking breakdowns Contrary to what Hulk’s support claimed, the app does inject both the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics tags if you enter them in the app’s settings. After weeks of unexplained duplicates in our analytics and debugging every part of our Tag Manager setup, we finally traced the issue back to Hulk’s hidden tracking injection — which was overriding our TagFly/GTM setup and breaking proper consent management. Once we removed the IDs from the Hulk settings, all duplicate events disappeared instantly, and: • Our mobile and desktop Lighthouse scores jumped by over 10 points • Our page load times improved • Our event tracking returned to normal • We realized we had uninstalled multiple unrelated apps in the process — wrongly suspected due to Hulk’s silent interference This is not only unacceptable from a technical standpoint — it’s a massive waste of time, and it undermines trust in the app. Either support was not informed, or they deliberately avoided acknowledging the root cause. In both cases, it’s not serious. ⸻ Summary of persistent problems: • Wishlist hearts appear above full-screen menus — bad z-index management, still not fixed. • No wishlist counter displayed on product thumbnails anymore, although it used to be there. • No admin control over when and where the script loads. • Core functionality like wishlist buttons randomly fail to load. • The script loads on every page, even irrelevant ones like cart/policy pages, increasing bloat. • add_to_wishlist tracking is unreliable or blocked entirely when JS errors occur. • Layout shifts (CLS) caused by the app still penalize SEO and UX. ⸻ Support: Quick to reply, unhelpful in substance Hulk’s team replies quickly, but the answers are often off-topic or non-technical. It took days to escalate the malformed document.write() bug, and the latest tracking issue (which should have been documented and warned about) went completely undetected for months. ⸻ Timeline of failures (Nov 2024 – Jun 2025): • Nov 2024 – Wishlist script bloats all pages unnecessarily.  → Custom metafield workaround added by us. Still not fixed • Dec–Jan – Wishlist button fails to load on some product pages.  → Unstable and unresolved • Jan – GTM tracking starts failing.  → Root cause (Hulk script) undiagnosed until June • Mar – Wishlist counters on product images disappear.  → Still missing • Apr – Inconsistent triggering of add_to_wishlist events.  → Still unreliable • June – Critical JS error discovered (document.write() with invalid HTML)  → Breaks all downstream scripts (GTM, Meta, Pinterest, analytics).  → Still not fixed 7+ days after report • Ongoing – Wishlist icons appear above navigation menus.  → Still broken ⸻ Final word: We expected far more reliability, transparency, and control from an app claiming Shopify Plus compatibility. This situation has damaged our ad attribution, slowed down our site, and wasted dozens of hours chasing bugs the app introduced. Unless we see immediate fixes and proper communication from Hulk, we will be uninstalling the app. Do not use this app if you rely on accurate analytics, clean code, or performance. Thank you for your fantastic review! We're so glad to hear that the app is working well for you and that our team was able to assist with customization. We’re always happy to help fine-tune things to make sure it’s just right for you. If you ever need further assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help! 😊 Kind Regards, The HulkApps Team

We installed Easify to manage product options without creating variants and used it for several months. The interface was user-friendly, but the app caused major problems on both the technical and operational side. 1. Checkout bug: option pricing not applied with discount codes When customers applied discount codes, the extra charge for selected options was removed from the final total, even though the option appeared as selected in the order. This led to orders going through with €0 extra — a critical bug that caused real financial loss. 2. Confirmed performance drop (before/after tests) We ran multiple Lighthouse audits before and after uninstalling the app: • Product page (desktop): went from 46 → 95 • Product page (mobile): 22 → 46 • Home page (desktop): 63 → 74 • Home page (mobile): 85 → 95 These results were consistent across several runs. No other change was made between the tests besides removing Easify — which confirms the app had a measurable impact on page speed. 3. Limited dev availability despite “24/7 support” While replies were polite and courteous, basic questions like “Where is tracking configured?” or “How to fully uninstall?” could not be answered in real time. We were told the dev team would respond in 6–10 hours, due to their time zone. This does not meet the expectations of true 24/7 technical support — especially for stores based in Europe. Final response from Easify They confirmed the app uses Shopify’s extension system, does not inject tracking scripts, and that no manual cleanup is needed after uninstall. That’s appreciated — but came too late, after real losses and slowdowns. ⸻ Summary: The app has potential, but for us, it caused lost revenue, degraded performance, and long delays in support. It may be suitable for simple setups, but if your store is sensitive to speed and operational stability, use with caution.

Great app to customize the Dawn theme with plenty of options and functionalities. Hannah and technical support are reactive and helpful whenever needed. We absolutely love how you've transformed your Dawn theme into a delightful retro poster gallery! From the homepage to the collection pages, product pages, and other store pages, you've done an amazing job using our app. Your organization of the extensive poster catalog really makes it easy for your customers to navigate. Great work.

LAST EDIT: After receiving a new message from the support, I realized that the mistake was mine. I had ticked the retina image switches for the zoom and the gallery which had caused my images to display too small. All fixed now and the app is back on our Website. Many thanks to Paula for her help! I decide"d to keep the entire review as it is as it may help other people who may face the same issue ;) This app is great! EDIT: I’m disabling the app today while concerns #2 and #3 are being addressed. However, the way my images are displayed on click is the real deal breaker. When the gallery opens, the images appear even smaller than in the initial view. Unfortunately, this is completely counterproductive and pushes visitors to close the gallery. I still don’t understand why the app can’t display images the way Shopify does natively. While Shopify’s approach sometimes enlarges images too much (depending on the original size), at least visitors get a proper zoom when they click. It’s a shame because otherwise, this app is very well done and probably ideal for businesses that can share full-resolution images without concerns about counterfeiting. INITIAL REVIEW: I have been using this app for a couple of years now and I'm globally very satisfied! It does what it says and doesn't slow down our Website. To top it off, it's super fairly priced with a one-time payment! Only missing features to make it perfect are: - the ability to zoom expand beyond the actual size of the image (like a digital zoom effect). Because if your images are not big enough, the expanded view makes no difference with the initial size. - a feature to force all images to display at the same size in the gallery view - a feature to display the image captions in the gallery (not when zoomed or expanded)

Hi My Retro Poster! We're pleased to say that thanks to your feedback, we've added these new features to the Magic Zoom Plus app: 1. When small product images are used, they will always show as 800px width in the enlarged view. 2. If a gallery contains different sized images, you can enable the new 'Square images' option and a 1:1 aspect-ratio will be applied. This will prevent jumping when you switch between items. Thanks again!

I'm quite impressed with this app for its direct approach and efficiency; it indeed fulfills its promises without unnecessary complexity. The simplicity it offers is notably appealing. However, it's worth mentioning a slight limitation for those managing multilingual sites: the app isn't inherently designed to support multiple languages. Despite this, a practical workaround exists by segmenting texts for individual translation. While date formats will stay in English, they remain straightforward to comprehend. Given that this app is free, this minor inconvenience is easily overshadowed by its overall value and functionality.
