Simple and very straight forward. The experience goes beyond the app! They've got a very supportive team. Roxanne has been very helpful and easy to work with. I highly recommend this app, the team and GOVX overall.
Had major issues getting the cart drawer to work properly for the GOVX ID button to first appear and second to open the portal for verification. It took a lot of troubleshooting and adding/changing lines of code to get it to work properly. The simple auto embeds features didn't work for the cart drawer but did work for the page view of the cart. Some fixes need to be made for the cart drawer to work properly if the box is checked for the button to appear and operate in that view. If you don't want a cart drawer used when adding an item to the cart from a product page, it works fine. If you want the drawer feature as well (which some customers like to know the indeed added an item to their cart before checking out or continuing to shop) it requires some "blood, sweat, and tears" to get it to work correctly. Key points worth mentioning: * GovXIdApi is the correct global object (not GovXId or GovX). * refresh() does not re-scan dynamically injected buttons. * The native button only injects on the cart page — no mention of this limitation in their deploy docs. *data-time is required for popup() to work but is only set by their internal scanner on page load. NOTE: rating of 3 stars given because the extensive amount of time required to troubleshoot and repair functionality to make it work. Granted, it may depend on the version of Shopify being used and the plan whether it's Professional or Plus.

This may be the best app and the fastest way to start offering a military, government, and first responder discount on your e-commerce store. Incredibly great team and app to work with, the checkout blocks are easy to add and our customers are using it easily. The team at GOVX is great to work with, no issues with them! I would love to give this 5 stars. There's a major issue for a lot of merchants. There's no way in the app for a merchant to easily hide items or edit the brand listing on their store, which can be a huge issue when trying to create limited edition drops, website-only exclusives, or limiting compatible products. We had service parts and items that shouldn't be on the GOVX storefront. Ideally, this would be a sales channel or metafield on the products in Shopify so merchants can easily choose what items get placed in the GOVX store.
We're very happy with our GovX partnership. As a brand with military heritage, we were looking for a solution to provide discounts for our military customers. GovX was quick and easy to install, very simple to get up and running, and the customer service is great. Highly recommend!

The GOVX app allows us to integrate this support in our website efficiently and, most importantly, gives back to the folks that give so much for us.
I do like the ease of installation and how it allows me to control discounts on my Shopify store. That said, that's where the honeymoon ends. Issues: 1. When selling through GovX, their minimum discount and % cut of all sales basically kills my profitability. The nutritional supplement industry that I am in has tight margins to start, and if I give GovX users their minimum discount of 20% plus their 15% fee I'm actually LOSING money selling through them. Not to mention, I already eat a portion of the shipping costs for customers, so it's a big NO from me there. 2. Verification for my Shopify store. While I appreciate GovX handling the verification so that I do not have to persnally deal with sensitive identification information, what I have found is that almost anyone can secure a GovX account even if they DID NOT serve! I have several of my customers that I know personally, who have used the discount. I know that they did not serve, nor did their spouse. I asked one of the customers about it and it's a well known workaround evidently on the internet on how to secure it. I am getting the shaft because people who did not EARN the discount are using it. I'm having to discontinue Military and Veteran discounds because of this. Do better GovX

We love the GOVX app! We have a lot of gov, military, first responders and veterans, and they love the app too. We'd been just taking people's word for it that they were military or veterans etc, but having a mechanism to verify gives us a lot of confidence we're not being taken advantage of. The GOVX marketplace has also been very helpful for us driving additional sales. Edit; we've now been using GovX for several months and we love it. Their support has been fantastic and we can't say enough goo things about them. We generate a lot of sales with this app and our only wish is that they could also cover Canada as there is nothing comparable in Canada.
