Magical Surcharge + Extra Fees

This app is a game changer. I am able to collect Credit Card fees right at checkout. Customer service is top notch. Jeff has been my go to anytime I have a question or want to tweak something on my Shopify page. He is by far the BEST! He responds right away, and goes above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied. I would highly recommend this app and a huge shout out to Jeff. He is amazing!

I'm using Magical Fees to automatically calculate and add the new US tariff fee on to US only orders at checkout. I had an issue with set up (completely user error!) and Jeff from support helped me fix it and came up with an even better solution within my current plan. Really happy with the app and support, and already starting receiving US orders again using it! I was previously contacting each customer individually and charging the tariff which was super time consuming. The tariff fee now shows up as a separate line item with its own fulfilment button which means it can be removed on my integrated Royal Mail account easily too.

Great product, easy to use.

Jeff has been a treasure when it comes to customer support. I installed the app, I ran into a bump or two because my site is customized rather than the generic templates, Jeff logged in and fixed it. Afterwards, as I was cleaning up my catalog, I deleted something accidentally and the fees stopped working. Jeff again to the rescue, corrected my error and I've not touched anything concerning the app since then and have had 0 problems. We use the app on draft orders, online orders, and our POS. They all work fluidly. Did I mention Jeff had the problem corrected in less than a hour. I actually don't like writing reviews, but for all they did for me I wanted to honor their request for feedback and applaud them.

We use it to charge a 3% credit card fee, for which Shopify has no built-in feature. It works perfectly! Easy installation! What more could you ask for?!

Using for Bottle Deposits

We use Magical Fees in our wine store to handle Hungary’s mandatory bottle deposit (DRS) fee, and after testing several alternatives, this is the app I would recommend to anyone who needs to manage deposits or mandatory product fees in Shopify. It gives much more control than the other solutions we tried, especially when it comes to applying fees only to selected products and excluding those fees from discounts. Our setup was quite complex, and we ran into a few edge cases around cart drawer updates, checkout and fulfillment. Jeff was incredibly responsive, understood the problem quickly, and personally worked through every issue until everything was functioning properly. Excellent app, excellent support, and in my view the best choice for Shopify stores that need reliable deposit fee handling.

Customer service is absolutely unbeatable. Super responsive and to the point. Stephen helped me figure out how to set up the app perfectly in my legacy theme, which involved a small amount of coding on my part. Now the app works the way I want it to (charging US customers for tariffs on Canada on certain goods).

Support is superb with getting you set up.

We use this app to set up a weight buffer. If an order contains a product sold by weight, we include a buffer so we are able to adjust the final price. When the order is placed, the customer pre-authorizes an amount. The buffer allows room for our weight adjustments before the final charge is processed.

We are using this app to add US section 338 tariffs on to products affected by the new tariffs. Customer service was excellent and they help set up the app properly within minutes. High recommended! Especially for Canadian businesses that need to constantly change tariff fees based on the back and forth policy changes. Thank you magical app!

I added this for help with the tariff situation and it has been extremely helpful. Navigating these tariffs have been brutal but this is great to add the fees without adding it to your product. Amazing.

I'm using this app to apply percentage-based tariffs on shipments (mostly to the USA from Canada in our case). It works effortlessly for this. Just select the products or collections that are subject to a specific tariff, and select the Market the tariff applies to, and you're all set. Customer sees the tariff / fee as a separate line item and it has no impact on customers in other Markets. I think this is a real life-saver for anyone shipping DDP who might need to adjust fees based on a percentage tariff and / or the €3 per product EU duty.

I needed a solution for adding the credit card processing fee to the customer's subtotal and found Magical Fees. As soon as I activated the app, I received an email from their support offering assistance with setup. Within minutes they had it up and running. Too easy.

We needed to apply this app, due to the high cost of credit card fees we were absorbing. Kyle walked us through every aspect of setting it up. As a small business owner, I doin't always have time to deal with reading instruction or dealing with Chat bots, so it was great to speak with a person, especially someone who is friendly and professional.

This is a must have if you need to charge various types of surcharges (taxes, consigne, etc) The support is 10/10 and ultimately the reason why we chose this solution. Highly recommend!

I have purchased a lot of apps on Shopify, but this was by far the best experience I’ve had! First, the setup was super easy. I did need some assistance, and Stephen and the Magical Apps team were incredibly helpful. They were also fast and responsive. Fairly simple app to set up and use. We are currently using it to display eco fee messaging for our France market and to apply the correct eco fees to individual products for compliance. Stephen from the Magical Apps team also helped us get the messaging displaying correctly on our storefront with our custom theme. He was super helpful and responsive when we needed support. Great app and great customer service.

We use Magical Fees in Ireland for the Re-turn plastic bottles or can deposit fees. Depending on the size of the product fees can start at 0.15. Magical Fees does an excellent job of adding the fees to the order as a separate line so there is no confusion with the client and their product orders. Its also a great was for us to audit and send these fees into Re-turn. Totally recommend - easy set up, clear labeling, options to add own text and imagery.

App works very well and I needed some help setting up some discounts after the fee calculations and Jeff from the support team was awesome and helped me beyond just the Magical Fees app! It was one of the best Shopify App support experiences :)

Does not do what it says, messed up my store, half my store stopped working. deleted and instantly store worked correctly again I Stand Corrected !!! the team here contacted me, worked with me, and fixed all the issues and made everything work. there are some styles about it i wish were different, but over it works well now. This app works perfectly and has been of enormous help, I needed some assistance and Stephen helped out right away. While I was setting things up, Magical Fees introduced a new feature to apply fees based on Shopify markets, which helped solving the case I was trying to handle. Really happy with both the product and the service.

Amazing app for automatic fees. We could not find a good app for POS fees. This one does it all! Easy to use, great interface for us and customers. I needed one change and couldn't figure it out - customer service was fast and amazing - made it all work for me in a matter of minutes. Highly suggest for anyone looking for a fee app! We need unique fees per province in Canada and it even handles that :)

It does what is described, there are some limitations but thats a shopify thing and not theirs. They are fairly quick to respond and explain what they can and cannot do which is greatly appreciated when Shopify support has fell so far.

Stephen and his team did a wonderful job assisting us with automatic fees for Shopify POS. The app works exactly as expected and is very reliable. So if you need an app for adding either manual or automatic fees on POS, this is the best one.

Magical Fees is the only fee app that allows you to apply a fee based on a specific or individual state/province situation. All the other apps we tested only allow "Location" (the entire country) which is a major limitation. The solution Magical Fees applies during the Cart to Checkout process is very smart and not a hassle. Very easy app to setup and the support was great.

I needed to add a mandatory deposit, and this app was easy and did what I needed to do. It broke out the main price, and added the refundable deposit. It was not a free addon that I needed throw into the checkout, and all of the apps that I tried just provided this function.

I use this app to add tariff costs for my US customers. It's easy to use, set up and maintain through all the constant US tariff changes. Anytime I have a question or need help I get an actual person for support (no chatbot!) and they're always very quick to answer and to fix any issues, or help make modification to better fit my shop. This app DOES NOT WORK!!! Have spent countless hours and lost sooooo much revenue due to glitches and waiting for the support team overseas to actually get back to me, they acknowledged the ongoing issues and supposedly gave me 2 months credit for the subscription but I have continued to be charged at regular intervals for an app that doesn't even work!!! DON'T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME AND MONEY

The level of customer support is incredible. Shortly after downloading the app, I received a personal email sharing appreciation and offering assistance. After setting up my fees, I kept having trouble and could not figure out what I had done incorrectly. I submitted an email for help and got a response almost immediately. We went back and forth, and he was incredibly patient with my gazillion questions. Now I'm up and running with zero hiccups. Highly recommend this app!

You have to get the growth plan in order for it to work. When you are adding transaction fees the customer gets to delete them. When the customer adds more items the transaction fees do not get updated accordingly.

Just want to say how happy I am with this app. Jeff has been wonderful in helping me get it set up. It took only one e-mail to support to fix what I messed up. Love the short and to the point support videos as well. There are other apps like this, however Magical apps is staying up to date with the constant changes and requirements in order to keep my store in compliance with the ever changing legalities of charging processing fees. I can't recommend this app enough!

This app was just what we needed, a way to bulk add a percentage fee to specific collections. Set up was provided in both video and text formats and were super easy to follow. I used the chat option to work around some customization we had in place and was taken care of by a human very quickly. I installed the app at 1:49 and was completely done by 3:15 and I stepped away from my desk a few times

A great app for extra charges (in my case extra fees for cooled shipping). If the settings are not clear after installation, the support team will help you out in no time. Very responsive team and support. Unfortunately, the app was not a fit for our needs, however, the support was very transparent and worked with us to understand our needs.

It works great, and if it acts weird, they've fixed it for me immediately. Please note the fee products will show up in the main category so you should redirect your "continue shopping" button, but again, they will help you do that. We are very successfully using this Online and POS.

Needed to add a state excise tax for specific products sold online and in store via POS. Magic Fees allows me to do this at a nominal monthly fee in comparison to upgrading Shopify plan, paying a developer, or using a tax app that gives more than I need at a higher monthly rate. Struggled a bit with a detail in setup but John and Stephen with their support team had me fixed up and running almost immediately after reaching out. Very happy with service and support to date!
