Bold Discounts ‑ Flash Sales Delisted

Shopify doesn't have a modern system for marking products down and setting timed sales. It's an oversight that's quite strange, but thankfully for a reasonable price Bold offers this app that allows you to create discounts on a schedule with a number of features that make things like flash sales possible. The installation was straightforward and the user interface is as well. I haven't needed support until today for a minor issue. This is after over a year and a half using the app. My customer service rep Naman asked if I could write a review while in the chat, so I'm doing so now as a professional courtesy. (Thanks, Naman!) Converting sales is your job as a shop manager. For many of you, it's just one job out of an almost countless array of responsibilities. It's daunting. Shopify's lack of markdown tools makes something like this actually pretty necessary if you have an inventory of thousands of items and variants like I do. In my experience markdowns are better for customers. They see the discount, can calculate savings, and need one less step to punctuate a sale. I recommend trying the app. It's a set it and forget it solution that your customers will appreciate as much as you. You can even tag sort sale items so that they populate a special "Sale" collection in your store automatically. It's pretty great and well worth the $15 a month. Is it dumb that Shopify doesn't have this feature already? Yes. But Bold made a nice app in the meantime. Support is great too. Just now Chintak helped me clear a stuck sale. It happens sometimes with some of our larger sales. But they fix it quickly. Quick, helpful, friendly, professional. Hey, I've had Bold Discounts rolling for about 10 years now. Use it everyday. Our store is massive. If it works this good for us, it'll be no problem for yours. I didn't get paid or get any credit for this review. I'm just doing Bold and Chintak who helped today a solid for making my life easier for years.

At Bold's request, I am updating my review, and i am glad they asked me to. They do take feedback and implement changes. I previously had a bad experience with an upgraded version of this app, but recent fixes have made it my go-to for running sales on our site. This app will do in a few seconds what would take much much longer to do by hand on the Shopify back-end. It is way easier to install, and you have complete control over where the sales icons and timers appear, or when they appear. It does take some getting used to the interface. The one thing that is important to keep in mind is: make sure you turn off all sales before you change pricing in your inventory. This system will handle the calculations for % or $ discounts. IF you change something while a sale is running, you risk not getting your MSRP pricing back. Aside from that, it is pretty easy to setup your groups, and easier still to get your sales going with time limits. Give it a chance!! its worth it.

Bold has been extremely useful in creating sales for our business, making it super easy to put your entire store on sale. I wanted to exclude one product and hopped on their AI chat to find out how and when the AI chat couldn't quite help me a real human, Irfan, stepped in and gave me a workaround to complete exactly what I needed. Thank you BOLD and thank you Irfan!!

Decided in the 11th hour approaching Black Friday that we should have sale prices reflected on our website rather than relying solely on coupon codes like we had in the past. Found this app and installed it and was able to run a bunch of discounts in just a few minutes without any issues. The basic functionality works great right out of the box, if you want to tweak the 'on sale' tag or use the countdown timer that takes more work but all the promo discounting stuff worked great without any effort. A few days later we finally used their install services for the countdown timer and 'on sale' tag to be a little fancier than the standard, and it was prompt and worked well with no issues. Since then I have had excellent support, prompt chat support from an actual developer who was able to immediately help with any issues with how the sale icon or countdown timer were displaying in our theme, etc.

We launched our website recently and used Bold to run our launch sale/discount. [Update: we've made another sale since]. Our business offers to wholesale and retail customers, and Bold helped us stack the sale/discounts. The Bold team were highly responsive, reliable and available to help us sort it out. We feel confident using Bold to run our discounts in the future. Irfan, Kurpa - you guys are awesome!

Easy to use, does what it promises. And I like the one time fee as opposed to paying every month. This is such basic functionality that i think it should be standard shopify functionality actually. Great service as well.

Shoutout to Chandan, who was such a pro and extremely helpful with all of my questions!! We are looking for a solution that includes the ability to discount products specifically at the variant level.

Bold makes it painless to schedule discounts. We've used this app for 18 months and have seen a huge reduction in time spent organizing and rolling out incremental key sale periods. We've never had an issue, so I can't speak to the customer service, but that's a good thing! Definitely recommend this app if you're looking for a way to automate your discount scheduling.

Honestly this is one of the most useful app that we use. Once the items are selected they go back to regular price after the sale is up. It used to take us hours to discount and reprice the items that were put on sale. It is also a wonderful app when it comes to run the BFCM sales as they can be pre selected and scheduled and they end on a specific time. We run deals every Wed using this tool. A must have.

We utilize Bold Discounts on a regular basis to help plan and implement promotions and discounts. The app is simple to use and it works well every time. Depending on the number of products, there is a lag in implementing the discount so that it's live on your site. But they have that factored in with a a time estimate to clearly illustrate how far in advance you should turn on your discount. The ability to set the start and end time to the discounts is especially useful.

Have been using Bold Discounts for about 4 years now, and it is very easy and straight forward to use. I have had excellent customer service when I crashed my site accidentally, and the team told me how to rectify the problem right away as far as their app was concerned. I have not had any issues since that fateful day. Here's what happened, and it was completely my fault: I had products listed at sale prices on my site, and then I tried to overlay another sale through the app without setting the prices to the full retail price first. This created a loop that spiraled out of control. So, make SURE that any products marked as discounted are not included in your Bold Discount sales. It's pretty fool proof, because the app SHOWS YOU which products are on sale. Since then, I NEVER overlay sales on discounted products (again, the app shows you if it is already discounted), and I pay for a back up service for my site (I use Rewind Backups). I bought the app for a flat fee so I don't pay monthly. I hope that Bold Discounts will do this again because monthly fees can be bothersome to me (I like the pay now and forget about it model).

Excellent App which allows us to switch discounts (offers) on and off large numbers of selected products in groups without having to use spreadsheets or import and export. As others have commented could be improved with a sort and search function for the list of discounts created, to make it easier to find and organise the list. Functionality is great though.

I had a glitch with discount not working properly (due to my not allowing it time to synch). The customer service on the chat was fabulous. A very appreciative shout out to Krupa and Irfan for staying with me for over an hour and taking me through the fix step by step. The app is really handy. I find it slightly clunky but it works as intended and perfect for my store's needs.

I'm just learning my way around, and am planning to have Bold manage my BFCM sale. The Bold team has been very prompt and helpful with my questions and requests. This app is the JAM for Black Friday Weekend! We ran into a little snag due to my lack of coding knowledge, but Kelsey (the customer support rep) was a true gem, and got us headed in the right direction for a resolution FAST! Which was pretty impressive, especially during Black Friday!

Installed this app to try it out before our annual Black Friday Sale. The app didn't work quite right with our store layout on the product page as we'd like, so uninstalled the app. I had an issue uninstalling (my mistake) and Laurel helped through a quick chat get it resolved in no time. Very easy to set up. I think this will save us a lot of time in the future. Set up my first discount in seconds and the install was easy too.

The app is great. If your theme is a bit complex, the bot installation might mess up things a bit so I recommend using the expert install. Priyanka from costumer support did a fantastic job and together with Jade from the developers team, fixed my issues in matter of seconds.

The app works really well for doing any kind of sale at anytime. It's definitely a big time saver for changing all the prices with a lot of variants. It's in Staging mode for now as we're testing it out still but so far so good. Really helpful support and Developers are quick to optimize the app to our needs. Feel free to outreach them if you need some specific customization. We're missing some functionality like picking add-on item from Shopify catalog instead of upload images from the zero but Developers mentioned they're working on increasing features in a future and collect all feature requests from their customers, so hopefully our request will be heard.
