We only tried the app for switching photos for products, but it seemed great. A slightly confusing structure but otherwise very useful.
It has some plus points that you can add wholesale account registration but is very klonky, feels outdated, is pointlessly confusing to navigate and there are no filters or protection from spam signups with fake accounts unless you manually have to reject/approve every registration.

Thank you for your honest feedback — we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry for any confusion you faced while using the app. It seems there may have been a small misunderstanding regarding spam protection. Our app does include functionality to prevent fake or spam registrations, and you can easily enable Google reCAPTCHA within your form settings for added security. We’d love the opportunity to walk you through the features and help you set everything up smoothly. Please let us know a convenient time for you, and we can arrange a Google Meet to assist you step by step. Looking forward to your response.
I only had a limited time to test some of the features and then forgot about it. When I returned to check on it, after the trial period was ended, I was met with an incredibly aggressive and rude notification in the menu: "This account is suspended, and Mechanic is no longer processing activity for this store." It makes it sound like some massive policy violations took place and you're banned for life for testing their app!

Heyo! :) No fear; "suspended" just means "we're holding our understanding of your intent in suspension until your intent explicitly clarifies". If you want to keep using Mechanic, great! The path choice is: subscribe to the service, or get in touch via team@usemechanic.com for more context-specific pathing exploration. That latter direction is always available - see https://lightward.inc/pricing. I understand that the language choice came across as aggressive/rude/insulting to you. I'm sorry for that. This result was fully unintended; the language was intended to be technical. :) Sincerely, an autistic person who is here to discover productive alignments or to dodge counter-productive misalignments, =Isaac
It's a buggy mess. It never completes the catalogue and has been hanging for one hour to create it. The tables gets mixed up with content disappearing and appearing; there is no option what order you want the products to display (product name or vendor? you can't chose), and it doesn't allow you to edit the shopify address that shows up instead of the domain name on the bottom of the page. ** The response is pointless and ignores the fact that it can't output anything when you try to create the catalogue, demonstrating once more what a buggy mess the app is.

UPDATE 30/10/2025: We updated the app and made it better so If possible, let’s schedule a quick Zoom call to address the issues as soon as possible. I’m available whenever you are. Please check my email, which I just sent you. I know that app is not perfect but we are working hard to listen to customers and make it better, so every feedback is valuable. Here is the button you should click: https://monosnap.com/file/r6XFXZmFsl2zvttoWSofkbFp0Ka0TZ Sorry for the misunderstanding between the Save button and the Generate PDF catalog. Best. Thank you for your review. I just checked our system and it seems that you didn't generate the catalog; you only saved it, as I can see in the database. Please click 'Generate PDF catalog' instead of Save, and the catalog will be ready in a few minutes. Kind regards
It could be great but it's very buggy and it takes massive resources from your shop, immediately downgrading the LCP and INP shop performance (speed) once you install it and activate it, which will ruin the Google ranking considerably. When you try to integrate it you're met with a white blank screen and have to jump around to try and figure out what's going on. If your email for the store differs from the Shopify email, it appears to be unable to do a recognised integration and installation even if you've installed it, which becomes messy. Support never seem available, and they appear to use their own bots for support which is not helpful. Who has time to wait days one end to get a response when you're working on integrating it? By the time they get back to you (if they ever; I never got a response) you've moved on to something else that works.
It appears to create a separate menu that redirects from your Shopify menu to the mega menu, meaning you can see the menu jump around before it loads. It first loads the shopify menu and then the mega menu. It's unsightly and looks unprofessional, and it also generates error pages.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry you had some problems with the loading time of your mega menu. Our team is reaching out to assist you with this problem. That said, your menu looks really good, and you're using it to showcase a large body of products 💪🏼 Again, thank you for this review and your feedback.
So far, so good. I am still testing the app but so far it's the nicest review app I have found. Very nicely done, not buggy like the other apps. The only problem I had so far was a double line of stars.
