Locales.ai: AI Translate ‑GPT5

After several months of using Locales.ai, we're very satisfied with the results. The translations are accurate, the interface is easy to navigate, and managing multiple languages has become much simpler for our team. Like any AI translation tool, we still review some product descriptions and industry-specific terms, but the amount of manual work required is minimal compared to translating everything ourselves. Overall, it has saved us a significant amount of time and helped us launch new language versions of our store much faster than expected.

Abusive billing and poor quality of CS. I don't recommend to use. Better not use. Just do not use it. Have suspicion why bad reviews are only from 2026.

- 2.800. 000 credits Customer service non existent. no-one even bothered to answer to us after multiple tickets and emails. This is not a professional app unfortunately.

DANGEROUS APP Out of nowhere, my account was hit with -207,844 credits no warning, no confirmation, no hard limit, nothing. The app continued consuming credits after my balance was already exhausted, due to their own system not having a proper credit cap (which they later admitted). Support took ages to respond, repeatedly claimed “the team is unavailable,” and dragged the process out while my store functionality was effectively blocked. After granting backend access and waiting through multiple back-and-forths, they finally admitted the issue was caused by their system failure. And their solution? They want ME to pay for HALF of THEIR mistake. Let that sink in: I never approved going over my credit limit I never intended to translate more than my balance Their system allowed it due to missing safeguards They acknowledge this Yet they still demand payment to unlock my account If I don’t pay, I can’t use the app anymore even though the negative balance exists solely because of their broken system.

Stay away from Locales.ai. Absolutely unacceptable experience. I strongly advise anyone considering Locales.ai to stay as far away as possible. We have spent over $15K USD on translations using this app, and the result has been nothing short of disastrous. There are huge, obvious bugs that cause product pages to appear half translated in one language and half in another. This is not a minor issue — it completely breaks the user experience and makes a professional e-commerce site look amateurish... What’s even worse is the total inefficiency in handling problems. These issues have been reported weeks ago, multiple times, and to this day they are still unresolved. No clear answers, no timelines, no ownership. Customer support is practically nonexistent. Responses are slow, vague, or simply stop altogether. For a paid tool at this price point, this level of support is frankly unacceptable. To be clear: Massive translation bugs Broken multilingual product pages Weeks of waiting with no resolution No real customer support Money spent with zero accountability This is one of the worst experiences we’ve had. The app is unreliable, the support is missing, and the overall product quality is extremely poor. Avoid Locales.ai. A complete waste of time and money.

However, for more complex issues, they tend to go silent and rarely provide proactive updates, such as notifying users when certain features are temporarily down. Overall, the app itself is excellent, but the support experience could be much better. As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

I've been using Locales.ai for a year, and it has been fantastic. They always get back to me with the solution almost immediately.

Very easy to use. Clean interface and fast customer service. Translated my entire shop to Swedish and German in a very short time. Note: If you have special items that might not get translated 100% correctly, do a small test first and then add custom instructions if needed. Otherwise you have to comb though the translations and sort them out, or spend a lot of credits to fix your mistake.

All good, translations are well done, gpt4 is really doing a good job, in terms of customization of unique target market content the app could be much better, there are almost no ways to customize target content for subdomains... so basically it is just good for text, serps, and other things, but not good for multi market target content

Update: We need to add a few points while keeping our original review below. After our 1-star review, Lewis listened to our concerns and engaged with us. He acknowledged the issues and said he would work on improving the app. We also hope he will make the pricing fairer. In addition, he refunded multiple plan fees we had paid. We have now translated our site using another app, but due to Lewis’s goodwill and courtesy, we are raising our rating from 1 star to 3 stars. ----------------------- It’s a complete trap! Every step is designed to make you spend more money. After signing up, we upgraded the plan and paid extra, yet we couldn’t even translate two languages. All it does is send requests through the ChatGPT API to translate. Also, when we reported bugs, they said it was a priority and even promised a refund for the credits and fees we used — but there’s still no action. They've been ignoring the ticket for 4 days as if it doesn’t exist.

The app works perfectly, and when there is any problem the support is extremely fast (props for giving direct real support, instead making you deal with an AI first). And thanks to Nico for that quick fix!
