es wäre super, wenn man ein individuelles nächstes Bestelldatum eingeben könnte.
This is my first time here, so I don't have a rating now.
Feature request — allow merchants to set which purchase option is pre-selected (EU/French consumer law issue) Hello, I run a Shopify store in France and I use Shopify Subscriptions. On the product page, the subscription option is pre-selected by default, and the one-time purchase option requires an active click to be chosen. As far as I can tell from the app block settings, there is no way for a merchant to change this — the settings only expose widget style, colours, borders and the policy URL. This is a problem under EU law. Article 22 of Directive 2011/83/EU requires the trader to obtain the consumer's *express consent* to any payment, and states that consent cannot be inferred from default options the consumer must reject. A recurring payment commitment that is selected by default, and which the customer must actively deselect, falls squarely within that concern. In France, the DGCCRF enforces this strictly, and pre-ticked options are a recognised dark pattern. The consequence is that French and EU merchants currently cannot use the default behaviour of the app without taking on legal risk — and disabling the subscription widget entirely is the only workaround. My request is simple: add a merchant-level setting to choose which option is pre-selected, with "one-time purchase" available as the default. Ideally, also allow "no option pre-selected", which is the safest configuration under EU law. This would be a small setting on your side and would remove a real compliance obstacle for every merchant selling into the European Union. Thank you, Julien Salut —
it's been painful...trying on desktop rather than mobile to see if i can setup one subscription.
If there could be a way to add additional information when looking at subscriptions from within the orders section, such as adding the product code/ sku. This would be very helpful, as it would make it much easier for the customer service team when speaking to the customer to tell me directly what the product code is for an item and the customer can just simply input this code and up pops the item on their page.
It's free so I guess you get what you pay for.
Needs more options, we are unable to edit the recurring date of the future orders for our customers or even have an option to "run now" the order when customers ask. Please provide more optionality.
confusing to use, payment is not working and testers cant see
having a real problem trying to get the subscription to work with my app. Everything works on the app just fine. goes into the cart showing the subscription choice. But passing it to the checkout page on the site, which is where they are sent for secure checkout, it doesn't show up. Gets lost somewhere from the cart to checkout. I already found the numbers that are assigned to the options, but still comes up undefined. It shouldn't be an act of Congress to get it to jive. It works on the site just fine, just don't try and integrate it into your app. If I ever found out how to make it work I will share that with anybody else building their own app.
***2026 Update*** This app hasn't been updated in 2 years since coming out. Super frustrating. There is no ability to move an order up if a customer wants their subscription early. Also shopify ai is useless to help edit anything with sub orders. So sad Shopify seems to have abandon such a promising app. So far this looks promising, but still very entry level. Not a whole lot of flexibility or customization. I have not gone live yet, as I am trying to figure out how to import my current Recharge subscribers over.

Thank you for your valuable feedback on our Shopify Subscription app. While our app focuses on simplicity and basic use cases, we understand your desire for additional flexibility. You can look at our help documentation https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/products/purchase-options/shopify-subscriptions/import-export for importing contracts. has very basic features, wish I could change the original price of the subscription
This is ultra basic and does not integrate into my theme very well.
This app is easy to install and set up but the more I use it, the more issues I see. It is fantastic for digital products that don't need shipping but for physical subscriptions, there are glitches. I have Free Shipping on subscriptions and use the native discounts to allow this. For people who sign up and don't add anything else to the cart, this works perfectly. However, if a person signs up to a subscriptions and adds other items to the cart, it adds shipping to the renewals even though it shouldn't. I am having to refund shipping which is ultimately costing me money due to payment fees. I wish there was a better sorting function and more information on the screen. I would like to be able to see on the main screen when a customers subscription is going to renew. I'd also like to be able to sort by the type of subscription so I can bring up all like ones to see what is coming up. I have yearly and monthly and want be able to see what is coming up so I can prepare.
Jeg mangler noget mere data omkring churn og levetid på mine medlemmer. Derudover ville det være fedt hvis man kunne lave rabatter på enkelte leveringer i et medlemskab.
It is pretty limited to the use case of sending physical, subscription boxes to people. It doesn't have basic quality of life features like searching for subscribers. It's a good first step, but I'm looking to replace it after using it for a few months.
IT WOULD BE VERY NICE TO BE ABLE TO SEE WHEN THEIR NEXT ORDER IS DUE WITOUT GOING ALL THE WAY INTO THEIR CONTRACT.
need to be able to onboard a subscriber via link or via UI. When I asked about I got no answer jsut a case closed email. I need to port in our subscriber base from woo commerce.
It's fine, nothing great. Hard to customize. I wish I could search for my subscription contracts to be able to find them without scrolling!
The app is ok so far. It mostly does the job but the lack of the ability to pin all the sales to a decided subscription date keeps me looking elsewhere. Please add that option.
It works fine for managing subscriptions, but it’s very basic. There’s no forecasting or forward-looking reporting, which makes it hard to plan inventory, cash flow, or production as a growing business. Feels like a missed opportunity.
Wish I could do more customization with the UI and selections. Ex) Bill every 3 months but ships out every month. Currently the copy says ships out every 3 months and there's no way to change that without changing the billing structure, so I need to specify that in the description of the product.
i want to clean it up. delete and organize and I can't figure out how to do that. Also, i sometimes get multiple subscriptions going through.
customers never understand how to manage subs themselves. Also would be great to enforce a minimum amount of orders before canceling. Subscriptions should just be baked into Shopify not needing a separate app.
Dommage que la livraison a domicile ne fonctionne pas en récurent
I am getting a lot of customer complaints in managing the app from the customer side
I'm grateful Shopify has created a subscription app for their stores but it would be great if customers could choose a 1 time option or then your frequency. They also need intervals. I don't want to ship something every 1 or 2 months. I want to ask if my customers want to get something every month for 1, 3, 6, 9 or 12 months or more even. And it would be great if somehow we could create digital subscriptions. I have a digital magazine people would like to subscribe to and have it automatically sent to them when the file is available. It would be better if that "months" digital subscription was in some ways manual with me adding the digital file and then being able to trigger it being sent.
Great to have this integrated as a free native app, however it does have a few bugs and isn't the easiest to manage
Could do with just a few more bits on it to make it more functional, nothing super technical
UI is terrible. Should work with bundles, but it doesn't, which creates huge issues in tracking my inventory, because i have to use workarounds like creating an item that is a multipack, but then the inventory tracking is way off. boooooo. otherwise, barebones just fine.
for some reason no one can ever edit their own subscription
It would be nice if Shopify Subscriptions app worked with the Shopify Bundles app
Love this for our start-up. Easy, free and gets the job done. Unfortunately, you can't change billing dates or the types of subscriptions through the admin console. You also can only offer one type of subscription. I wish there was a way to have more customization.
Not bad just needs a bit more customization and work ESPECIALLY on the design of the widget!! PLEASE!!
I was waiting so long for Shopify to implement subscriptions. But It is still missing crucial features.
A few things would massively elevate it. 1) Integration with Shopify's native Bundles app so you can bundle a subscription with a physical product at will. 2) The ability to offer the first year "free" followed by a recurring charge.
There could be more customization, or even simple features like the ability to swap out productions in the same collection without completely cancelling the subscription. But overall a very helpful app.
Very hard to get raw data to see what subscriptions are coming up. Not very user friendly on our end, not fantastic on the users end either
First, I have customers who requested a change of address, and I updated it manually. However, the following month, the subscription reverted to the old address, which makes it really hard to manage, especially with many subscribers. I’ve lost a few customers because of this issue. Second, sometimes an order isn’t created, and I only notice it when I check the customer’s subscription page manually. There’s no alert or clear indication of what went wrong. The subscription still shows as active, even when the payment didn’t go through. Third, it would be helpful to have a filter that allows me to sort customers by the day of the month their subscription renews, not just the original subscription date. Fourth, it would also be great to see the full customer list on one page, instead of being limited to 25 per page. Lastly, it would be amazing to offer customers the option to subscribe annually as well.
