ShoppingGives ‑ Donation App

I am okay with paying the 29/month sub fee but then to choose my own organizations to donate to its an additional $49/month. So almost $70 is a lot for me. I may stay for a couple months to see how this plays into my finances but im not sure if it's for me long term.

The Shopping Gives app is incredibly intuitive and allows a seamless process of having your customers give to the charity of your choice. I am also very impressed with their leadership. Ronny Sage, the Founder was incredibly helpful to me and my wife as we embarked on a new business. He answered questions at all hours and really helped us get launched. Can’t say enough good things about Ronny and Shopping Gives; many thanks!

I decided to give this app a try regardless of some of the negative reviews, considering how bleak the world is right now. Here’s what I think so far. The app gives you the option to select your own orgs to automatically donate to, or let your customers choose from a selected list. If you want your customers to be able to choose, the app only lets you select 6, but they have a default org “Farmland Project” that you are not allowed to remove from this list unless you upgrade to the $595/month plan… So you can only really select 5 of your choice OR not give your customers the freedom to choose which org they want to donate to. Forcing you to have this particular org on the list really does not sit well with me. I also think the .5% transaction fee for every order total is ridiculous. You also have to upgrade to the $595/month plan choose from the majority of the non-profit options. This app charging so much to allow brands to donate makes no sense to me. Since when did donating become an exclusive club only brands with a lot of money are capable of doing? This app is not “supporting impact", it's pay-to-play philanthropy. Beyond disappointed. We'll be looking for something else.

Updated. Their customer service can take up to 24 hours to respond and they have since reached out several times to help resolve our issues.

This app is powerful and easy to set up. We had special requirements for our store and after a quick call, they quickly updated the app to accommodate our needs. The CEO is a great human and jumped right in to help us get the Donations widget functional on our store in record time. Highly recommend giving this app a try.

We've been utilizing ShoppingGives for a few years now, and have been happy with how easily it allows us to run giving campaigns. The integration is seamless, the backend is straightforward to use, and support has been lightning fast and helpful when we've had questions (The CEO even called me personally to help troubleshoot a time-sensitive sync issue on our end).

Loved this app. It worked so well for us until they started charging a monthly fee that is quite expensive for our small business. We loved that this app allowed us to donate a percentage of sales to local charities and would continue to stay but the fee is too expensive for us!

The team is super responsive and supportive! We needed some customizations and they were more than willing to help make it work for us on our site! Kudos to the ShoppingGives team and this app!

We have been using this app for the the past two months in our retail store and launched our online campaign this month. The Shopping Gives team is very responsive to any questions we have regarding installation and configuring the app as well working with to help set up the non-profits we want to support to ensure they are receiving their donations. Very supportive team and great to work with overall!

I had this app for a little bit before they started charging and don't get me wrong I think it's a great app but the reason I'm giving it 2 stars is that I HATE that they started charging out of nowhere. I'm still figuring out how to get sales in my store and I'm not gonna pay 29$ a month when I'm getting 1 sale a month. It makes no sense. What would make more sense is if they required me to pay after a bigger amount of sales or after making a certain amount of profit. Once I have a lot of sales I wouldn't mind paying at all. It's a great app but only worth it once you get sales and if I still had the donation part of it, I might get more sales. But I can't afford it until I get sales. See how difficult it is for us small business owners? So I'm gonna have to go with a different app, which stinks.

Shopping Gives is a great app. It makes it so easy to donate to the causes I want. It makes it easy for my customers to see where their donation is going and it's automated so I don't have to do extra work. I am so happy that I found this app and it's been so smooth to navigate. I love how I can use different products to donate to certain causes. If you want to use your brand to donate, I highly suggest using this app.

I love the ability to give back both financially and with my time, as now a mother of 4 I am unable to pay it forward with in person contributions. As the founder of bemybreastfriend, both social media and e-commerce, I am able to donate back to my favorite non profits. ShoppingGives has made this possible and the process is so easy. Having this platform implemented into my storefront has been one of my favorite additions to my store. Thank you ShoppingGives for allowing me to continue to giveback and making the process seamless.

I had just launched my small business, I have had Shopping Gives installed for many months. It was easy to install and looked and functioned great, after figuring out some glitches. I created social media, print & email campaigns around this app and the causes I was highlighting, and then out of nowhere the company take it from FREE to over $300 per year, plus a small percent of my sales. I get that to keep this app running smoothly a monthly fee might be incurred down the line but for very small businesses that want to launch with Giving at the center of their business and with very little volume this is incredibly expensive. I've had to delete all my campaigns along with the app because I just could not afford this being so new. I'm currently looking for something different that I can grow with. The app is great but do not recommend for small businesses.

Imagine charging subscriptions AND taking a fee to let businesses do good in the world. What a joke. Worked great before they started double dipping to buy themselves some shiny new toys. Since they replied saying they aren't double dipping.. here is a quote from THEIR site: $29 per month Start trial This includes: .5% (half percent) of order total Donation Transaction Fee per donation So they aren't taking from the donations, which is nice. But they are charging monthly, and taking a .5% of EVERY ORDER TOTAL. Greedy are we?

Great idea but it doesn't work. After installing and getting everything to work, a month later nothing is working. Dashboard, web app, POS app, all not working. No support response either. I wasn't crazy about the functionality either. I expected the app to round up to the nearest whole dollar automatically. With this app, it defaults to $1. To change the amount you have to edit it in 1 cent increments. Not ideal when you are at a farmer's maerket with a line of peopl.

This app integration has made it super easy for our business to donate to charities that align with our mission. Customer service has also been outstanding.

I use this app to manage my donations and anytime I've had an issue (mainly user error) the customer support has been **outstanding**. I highly recommend this app to use for the charities that are important to you.

We've used this app to help the CJ Smuin Memorial Foundation spread its message. In addition to raising awareness, it allows our customers to also support the Foundation we support with donations if they choose to.

The customer service of this app is superior to most. When the CEO calls you of a venture capital company to learn how to better serve and take care of an issue it brings real confidence and credibility to the mission of this service. We had a couple issues come up that needed dealt with, but I can say with confidence that our company is excited about moving forward with Shoppinggives as our partner in contributing towards non-profits.

The Change Commerce APP by ShoppingGives is fantastic and geniously solves a fundamental challenge for any cause based brand like our brand > www.tumbledownbrand.com. Which is management of the our giving while offering the buyer an opportunity to contribute to your cause as well. It also provides transparency for the buyer on exactly how much our company is giving and to whom - we are giving too. Support has been responsive and terrific - highly recommend it....even if you are not a cause based brand but just want to give back as part of what you do...Change Commerce is a great option! The Shopping Gives team is top notch. The founder, Robby Sage, and his team are true experts in cause marketing and how to best enable in a Shopify environment. We're live in one store with their POS integration - it was very seamless and took all of 30 minutes. Did you know OTHER apps dip into donations to pay themselves? This one does NOT--their honesty and transparency is perfection and their customer service is some of the best out there. I even spoke to the CEO! Highly recommend, so easy to use and you know you're in good hands.

When launching Sclarandis.com an e-commerce site selling handcrafted Luxury shoes for women, we always believed in giving back to our community and charities close to our heart. Over the last few years we donated thousands of Dollars to various charities, as a small start up, the challenge was to keep our accounting as seamless and 'painless as possible' ! We wished there was a magic button to help set this up...meet Change Commerce. It was fairly easy to set up and although at times a little more fussy than we would have liked, because we have multiple skus/ sizes and bulk editing is not an option. Their support team was super helpful and always available. We are now functioning and able to make the donations to our favorite charities at the touch of a button, and its very easy to manage on the back end. I would definitely recommend using this app if you're thinking about it, much easier than sending and calculating donations 'manually'.

We have our own non-profit foundation related to our aviation business that benefits high school programs in aviation. We've tried 3 other apps and none could meet our needs in channeling all donations from the proceeds of specific products from our retail into our non-profit foundation. We needed the app to transfer 100% proceeds from customer donations to our foundation as all of our donations were being assessed fees by PayPal. The CEO of Change Commerce personally scheduled a conference call with us and went into our online store to assist in setting up our store. In addition, when we installed the app, we received a phone call from their company's rep to welcome us and provide direct contact. This is a free app and all of their above and beyond customer service is extraordinary and unfounded these days. It is incredible service for the nonprofits and Shopify customers. I cannot recommend this app enough for nonprofits using Shopify. Outstanding service!
