SmartrMail Email & SMS

I just switched over from using Constant Contact, and I'm still learning my way around. The support team was awesome and very engaged in helping me get my first newsletter out. I love that the product blocks are directly tied to my store; just pick a product, and it loads all the necessary info and links. So far so good!

I have been using SmartrMail for 5+ years for my retail shop. The app makes it easy and seamless to automate email contact with our customers, to promote new products to existing customers and to have an overall process in place to handle this portion of our business. I recommend SmartrMail for retail business.

We are using Smartrmail for our email automations and are very happy with the app. The support team is excellent, very responsive, friendly, and truly helpful. They took the time to understand the issue in detail, explained everything clearly and resolved it quickly. The whole experience felt professional and supportive from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable email automation/newsletter solution for Shopify.

Do NOT use Smartrmail Enhanced. I used this app for years without problems. I got a pressure sale and BIG promised of how they were going to bring in big money for me. The email automations they created had nice designs. However, they used AI to generate content, which caused errors (linking my business incorrectly, wrong address, most importantly wrong branding, etc), they lost 26000 email accounts, promised deadlines they could not deliver and did not deliver on, AND their recommended products feature glitched over and over again for months and the issue never got resolved. All in all these "supports" caused loss of business and customer reach. I asked for and was promised a refund for the loss of email addresses, etc. They then claimed they could not see the charges that had gone through every month. I shared screenshots with them of the charges, and they claimed that this was not sufficient proof. i spoke with shopify and they said this is the best proof I could give and they app had avenues to find out about the charges. Don't invest in "help" from Smartrmail enhanced.

The Smartrmail team has not only built a powerful app that covers the entire spectrum of e-commerce from A to Z—it also stands out thanks to its superb customer service. We received in-depth advice and felt we were in professional hands at all times. That's hard to find these days! You rock!

Terrible app with harmful presets. If you agree to the 'terms and conditions', then you'll be authorizing this app to send pre-fabricated, poorly formatted emails (without any prior notification) to your entire email list. This app doesn't respect the user and takes ridiculous liberties using the shared data from your Shopify store. Stay far away.

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING. It has been such a pleasure working with this team - especially Jesse and Mrunal. This is a completely different experience to what I have had with other email marketing apps, the process was extremely smooth and professional and any queries or concerns I had were very quickly answered or solved. Jesse was super responsive and really made it a stress free and enjoyable experience. I feel like I have finally got some really great looking email flows and I would strongly recommend them to anyone wanting to get to the next level with their email marketing.

Very good app that easily opens a new sales channel

VERY easy to get started with email marketing with this app. Settings very intuitive and I was able to set it and go. With other companies I have used in the past, like MailChimp, I had to not only set up the settings, but then worry about the funnels, automations, newsletters and more - and in most cases, because I was not versed in what I was doing, my emails came out very amateur looking. Not so with SmartrMail. Had some questions about more marketing I could do and took a Zoom call with Peter Connolly. Love the accent! But what I loved even more was his honesty AND integrity. He gave me an honest assessment of my business and in the direction I wanted to go and rather than just take my money like some companies (you know who they are), he actually advised me to downgrade until my business has grown more, because he understands that in order for his business to grow, my business needs to grow. That's impressive - and I see my business growing with them for quite some time in the future. Thank you!

This is a superb app for email marketing, the support is great and not rushed, I am not an it exert so appreciate this . the templates they created where superb as well.

I’d like to first start off by saying that I have been using this app for 10 years as of this month. This is a fantastic app and one of the best regarding email marketing on Shopify. This review is specifically geared toward the employee who has gone above and beyond to ensure I’m taken care of. It isn’t every day that you have a 10-year customer of your app or service, but after 10 years of using these services, I needed assistance with really fine-tuning both of my store's marketing campaigns. “Jesse Correy” is the representative from this company who has gone above and beyond to take care of me. We have worked together to make changes to both of my stores to fine-tune everything to bring the most ROI back to my business. Jesse Is located in New Zealand, and I’m located in the United States. Obviously, we are in different time zones. Jesse Has spoken to me during my business hours (which makes it somewhere around 1am in the morning in New Zealand) numerous times. This is unbelievable, as I don’t know of any other company that would have an employee work at all hours of the night to assist their customers. Jesse did exactly this multiple times, and I’m happy to say after several months of working together, my email marketing is on point now & I really wish I had reached out previously to get everything tuned the way it is now. If you have any doubts about this company, take a look at their reviews, as they speak for themselves. Jesse and the entire team are definitely on top of their stuff and don’t hesitate to go out of their way to help their customers. In my opinion, this is what makes a business a good business. First day using basic features of the app like pop ups and automations and its been performing as expected thus far. I must commend the customer service team for the response and clarity in providing diagnosis and workarounds for new users. It works pretty well. The only thing I don't like is that the emails keep going into customers' spam folders currently. Hoping this eventually graduates into the not-spam territory. But Moe was especially helpful in delivering the info I need to fully grasp the situation and how to resolve the aforementioned issue. I truly do appreciate the support even though we're not a paying customer right now. I cannot speak highly enough of the support that's normally afforded to paying customers only in other apps. When we finally get a steady profit going, I plan to go to the business owner to recommend the next tier to pay it forward. Really, thank you.

I've used this software for 3+ years (not sure why it says I've used it for 7 days, that's not accurate at all): Before this I used mailchimp for a few years, Privy, and then the shopify email service and they simply didn't do the things I wanted. First let me say that I HATE writing emails. So I search for a software that makes it easy for me and makes my emails look professional. Smartrmail has amazing features and is very easy to use and writing an email is very fast. I have created my own main template so all I have to do is write something and hit send. One of my favorite features is smart segments where you can create a list that automatically updates when someone buys a certain product or opens a certain email. this allows me to target my emails by interest instead of spamming everyone. So if i'm promoting product A i can exclude anyone who already bought it. My favorite thing about Smartrmail is their support. I've submitted many questions and suggestions over the years and they always respond as well as are always implementing new features. Their support team really wants their customers to be happy and I am mindblown because they reached out to me after reading my review and my struggle with no sales because i was in the middle of a pivot and changing my whole business. I booked a free call and they helped me figure out a new email strategy for my shop. They also showed me features I didn't even know they had!! ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do not hesitate and try this app!!! Here is why I chose Smartrmail: Shopify does not have advanced segmenting or A/B testing. but it's free. Mailchimp does not sync with my orders / customers and is expensive (twice the cost of this app) Privy doesn't have A/B testing for subject lines and does not automatically sync with your customers, tags or orders. They told me I had to manually import many csv files with EACH TAG. And that I had to use their embedded forms in order for new tags to import. Smartrmail does it all, I cannot tell you how happy I am that I found it. Their advanced segmenting is MINDBLOWING. you can email people based on WHICH PRODUCT THEY BOUGHT or DIDN'T BUY!!! They have subject line A/B testing to increase open rates. It syncs automatically with your existing email list, customers and orders, no need to import anything. -It's half the cost of Mailchimp. Even though it's not free like Shopify, I really want the extra features! I already setup a nice welcome email every time someone subscribes to my list. -their abandoned cart email is beautiful and includes a nice discount code (unlike Shopify's bland email which you cannot customize) -I can see how much $ i generated after sending an email -I love the boost feature for newsletters, which resends the email to the recipients who did not open your last email. this is a lot easier than in other apps! I've always hated and dreaded writing emails but this is the first time i can honestly say, i look forward to writing emails to my subscribers! -customer support has been amazing as well as one of my emails had a bug and didn't send out, they fixed it right away. -Although the A/B testing option is only on the higher-end plan which I do not have, I may upgrade to that option in the near future. Overall it's just a really SIMPLE and very advanced email marketing app and after 4 years I am finally happy to say goodbye to Mailchimp!

Great customer service, Moe was great in addressing the questions I had about the APP. The free trial is great and allows to increase the business without the burden of new big expenses.

I've recently started using SmartrMail. So far I've found the app very user friendly. Although I haven't completed set up on it yet - it's a nice feature to turn on automatic abandoned cart follow up emails.

This app is definitely a go to for us when sending out marketing emails and sms messages to our customers on virtually anything to do with our business. It's very functional and easy to easy which also makes it enjoyable. We are especially fans of the Smart Segments functionality.

Smartrmail product and customer service is second to none. They can't do enough for you and their response rates are amazing. They are always on the end of the emails or live chat straight away and I couldn't of wished for better service. I have recently signed up and their site is very user friendly, especially for creating email campaigns. It was not intimidating like other companies. The customer service has been excellent as well. I am happy I did my research and chose them to start my journey into ecommerce.

Its a great app for creating quick and easy emails, however it would be much better if there were more email templates for all the holidays around the world. This is by far the best pop up app I've found out there, and I've tried all of them. The best thing about it is that it sends the new email signup directly to Shopify so you have them in your Customer list without having to add it manually. I also really like that you can then send automated email series without having to think about it. I gave it 4 stars because some of the functionality of the design of the pop up could be expanded like the thank you pop up has to be the same size as the original pop up and you can't format it independently. Also there is a disconnect between how the pop up looks in the editor, and how it looks on your site. You need to edit it while looking at your site to make sure it turns out ok otherwise it will look very weird. Customer service is excellent.

We love how straight forward and easy to use the SmartrMail app is. They also have great tutorial videos. However, if we need help the customer service team is quick to respond and very helpful.

We changed from Shopify's standard email to SmartrMail and couldn't be happier. The customisation ability and speed to create great looking newsletters is fantastic!

The support team is very helpful in troubleshooting issues with popups, automations, coupons, and so on.

I've tried umpteen different mailing list providers and this is by far the best, especially as a shopify business. Easy to use and the automations are truly awesome!

We changed to SmartrMail some time ago (we were using another Email Marketing Integration that frustrated us no end - !) SmartrMail is one of the 1st integrations to offer Automated Product recommendations email, and their Automated Emails are really easy to create and have many features. SmartrMail is a great app offering all the welcome/abandoned cart / thank you emails automation that any online business needs - and MORE!- We hope that they will integrate with other apps for reviews and cart check out features soon - I do look forward to some more design features that would make our emails look even more polished - We highly recommend Smartrmail their Customer Support is EXCELLENT and the Pricing and Marketing Features are on point !!!

I've found SmartrMail to be much easier to use than Mailchimp and other email marketing providers! Customer service is also excellent!

We just started with SmartrMail, and so far the experience has been fabulous. I think the customer service is what sets this company apart. I have had several conversations with Moe, one of their great customer service reps. He has been very helpful. If this is the way they treat their customers, they'll have us for ever. If you're thinking about trying them... do it! You'll be glad you did.

My use of the service has vacillated in the time since my original review (given the fullness of my off-line life), but I still appreciate how their email/SMS service continues to remain fresh & relevant to us "micro-" Shopify bizzers. Another round of thanks to y'all! 12 Dec, 2020: Nicolas & Jan seem to really bust their humps to provide a valuable tool AND service! In the short time I've had their app (roughly 2+ weeks), I've seen both technical improvements & a nearly unprecedented level of customer care responsiveness. Clearly, these guys are OVERachievers—big kudos & many thanks for all you folks have done (& continue to do)!

This email program is the is the best I ever tried. Customer service is awesome. It give you all the stats you would need. They work hard to get your business and it's worth it. Try it you will like.

I do struggle with online marketing, I am getting old, but these guys make it much easier and are very helpful and patient with their instructing. Was using it with my previous website, so very looking forward to getting it all going through Shopify, love some of the new features they have added since I last used it. As a small business owner, this has been the most useful Shopify app for me yet. It has allowed me to easily send newsletters out to my subscribers, and they have a lot of free templates that make my eblasts look professional. I've been using this app for about two years now and haven't had any issues at all.

Smartrmail has absolutely changed the way I do business and has MOST certainly made me money. I started using Smartrmail because it seemed to be the most user friendly for a noob like myself. There happened to be an update at some point when I was not active and it seems as if the functionality exploded! If I were to give Smartrmail one critique, it would be that they add tips and hints like some other CRM platforms do. This is not to detract from a 5 star performance from Smartrmail!

Really enjoy the app, it works very well for our shop. They have pre-made templates that are customizable to your standards too, which are great for quick and easy emails during the busy season. Great customer service too! Definitely recommend them

The trial was great because you get ALL of the features of the app now that I have signed up for an actual plan I feel like you shouldn't have to pay for the unlimited plan in order to get the abandon browse automation. I just think it is a bit excessive to be paying that price to get that one feature added. I think 19.99 may be a bit much. Time will tell if it's really worth it.

Great except for these issues: 1. When I duplicate a newsletter, the size of images and border colors of buttons are different from the original newsletter. I've reached out several times and have been told to create from template. What is the purpose of the duplicate newsletter feature then? 2. When I duplicate a newsletter, it doesn't appear in the "Drafts" tab.

I switched from Mailchimp to Smartr because to save cost. I tried the trial version for a week and found that it had all the options I was used to on Mailchimp. The newsletter builder is not as neat and flexible but it does the job and you can compose fairly attractive emails using it. The automation options are quite thorough with lots of pre-designed templates/themes. The rest of the stuff is a bit simplistic but it covers all the basis for me. Smartr is a great choice for small businesses that want all the basic functionality without breaking the bank.

This has been a great app to get started on email marketing and their free version works very well for a small business just getting started! I also love the analytics they give and how it syncs so well with shopify!
