Impressive in its simplicity and functionality. Wish it were more affordable. We're just starting out and the profit margins on our products would require us to sell 20-30 products before we break even. But if you have a store that's already selling well, this is a great product to go with.

Still testing this app out, but what stands out to me is that it's the only Shopify digital products app that lets me create a new digital product from within its UI, versus having to head over to the default Shopify "Products" section to do it, then heading back to upload and attach some file to a product I created elsewhere. That attention to detail differentiates it from some of the other apps in the space, and the process of creating digital products feels more natural and logical to me. It's probably harder to program an app that does that, but it's a lot easier for me as a customer. If the team that built this does that right, they probably do other things right.

This is the best Shopify blog plugin. I've tried them all. I've been searching for years for a blogging solution that gives me flexibility, speed and power for blogging inside of Shopify. This solution isn't perfect, but it's a really strong start for a product that's barely a year old. And the team behind it is a real company that's been doing eCommerce solutions for almost a decade. If they keep going, and add some more quality of life features like flexiblity around how to insert content into a blog post, how to visually edit content in a blog post, this will be THE blogging app for Shopify. But they already have translations, for crying out loud. These folks are in it to win it. It's also appropriately priced like a real software product, not like some of these crappy Shopify plugins that are obvious grifts.

I was skeptical of this solution, but it works impressively well. If you tune your store's CSS properly, you can use this to very easily import blog posts into Shopify instead of having to fiddle with Shopify's inbuilt editor or spending money on crappy page builders (all the Shopify page builders are overpriced crap). I'm very happy Dear Customer, Thank you for the review. We appreciate your feedback and we are happy to know you have had a great experience with our app. Reputon Team

I've tried all of the major Shopify Page Builders. Only Shogun and GemPages are worth using. Shogun is a little more polished than GemPages, everything is a little more responsive and slightly easier to use, and their templates are a lot better. However, Gempages is a much better value. Even with their $300/month plan, Shogun doesn't offer unlimited pages. So for someone like me who uses Shopify as a blogging platform with occasional A/B testing, Gempages is a much better fit. I think that as GemPages continues to improve their product, they could overtake Shogun at some point. Edit Jun 2022: After using this plugin for a bit, I have to revise my rating. With lots of effort and working around bugs, it's possible to make pages with this tool. But it's a real chore. Stupid things happen all the time when you create pages: like text losing formatting, text having additional formatting you didn't give it, changes you make on mobile breaking things on desktop, or just simple things like there being no easy way to insert your saved custom blocks at a specific place on the page. I don't like using this tool and will be moving onto an alternative ASAP.

Please accept my apologies for the recent frustration you've experienced. I want to express our gratitude for your input. It will enable us to address these issues and enhance our services. It's a little clunky to set up, and the table of contents take an extra 2 seconds to load on each page. But otherwise it works as intended. It's cool that it's an automated function that runs on all old blog posts that have header tags, so I don't have to manually add the TOC to each blog post.

I tried all of the popular mobile app builders for Shopify. This is the only one that feels like it was put together by professionals. Clear, strong UI, easy to use, loads fast, lots of integrations. Unfortunately, there is no easy support for adding a blog, so I wasn't able to use it for my business. But if they add that functionality, as well as more ways to customize the bottom navigation with additional pages, I'd definitely use it.

Hey there, Thank you so much for your valuable feedback. Did you have a chance to go over the roadmap on the app and leave your ideas for new features? We will try to implement them as soon as possible.

It’s pretty good and better than the other blogging options for Shopify(although to be fair, the handful of others are complete garbage). However, it’s still very very buggy and not suitable for use in a heavy duty blog. You change font styles due to bugs, you can’t change button colors due to bugs, even the process of signing up for a trial is riddled with bugs. It’s also as expensive as Shogun or Pagefly, which both can do much more. It’s more expensive than hosting your own blog on WordPress or Webflow. If this product functioned as intended and were priced at about $15-20/month, it’d be a killer app.

Hello, Thank you for leaving us a review. We are always doing our best to make our users satisfied 🙏 As we told you by email, your issues were due to your theme not being listed in our database. We proposed you add your theme to our database to use the app properly, but we did not get a response. Our app is less expensive than Shogun and Pagefly and is the only one that is focused on creating blog posts with specific features such as SEO scoring. Feel free to test our app again in the future. We are always here to help our users make the best blog experience for their clients 😊 Julien

Team seems nice, but product isn't ready for prime time. Very very clunky and buggy to create courses. Frustrating and difficult to use. Look and feel of courses isn't much customizable without coding knowledge. Looking forward to seeing how this product develops over the next 6 months

Developer reply ·

Hi Christian, I see from our app statistics that Courses were installed just for several minutes on your store which might be not enough to check on all the feature set. I'm trying to reach out to you for a demo. Once you create your first course, it'll be very easy for you to create the rest and we're always there to help. Let me know when you're available and let's jump on a quick call.

Misleading advertising. Once you install the app, it sends you to a very ugly looking page that tells you that you can measure performance metrics for free, or upgrade to the $300/month plan to speed up your site

Developer reply ·

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience! I sent you an email to connect on this further. To clarify, our app needs to be installed for at least 24 hours, to collect real page view data to see your analytics, per the "Welcome” message of the tour. I believe the reason you may not have seen any performance metrics is because you had the app installed for 2 minutes. Merchants get access to free Speed Analytics and can choose to upgrade to a free trial of Speed Accelerator for 2 weeks before deciding if it is right for their business.

This app has gotten a number of negative reviews due to its poorly-done integration of a subscription option through Shopify. Here is a review of the actual product: I've been using OptinMonster since 2015 for various sites I have. They pioneered a lot of the techniques you see everywhere now, like "exit intent". OptinMonster is expensive(but they have good Black Friday deals), and I've tried many times to switch to a more affordable provider. But the other providers all force me to make compromises on the feature set, ease of integration, and user experience. The types to behavioral targeting you can do in OptinMonster is unmatched by any other tool. There is a big difference in product quality when you have an entire team dedicated to making the best opt-in forms, versus those forms just being one feature of many in an app like Klaviyo or Mailchimp. I can't speak on this $50/month subscription they offer through Shopify. That seems stupid. I bought a subscription from then in 2015 through their website. My recommendation is to buy from them during Black Friday when they are usually 30% off.

You can write blog posts, and they look okay when you post them. They have three layouts to choose from for the blog listing page (2 of them are terrible). They try their best to offer a decent onboarding experience(it's not good, though). My biggest issue is the price. $50/month is an insult for the tiny feature-set it offers. The SEO features are a gimmick that don't work properly and have questionable value. The actual experience of writing a blog post is terrible. You have no way to customize the appearance or layout of your blog posts. The actual blog creation interface is a run-of-the-mill editor they copied and pasted from some open-source platform. It's a real hassle to use.

We're sorry that DropInBlog wasn't a fit for you. We are very open to constructive feedback as we are constantly working on our product. We are not trying to be and don't claim to be a visual page editor. We are a blog platform focused on SEO.. so it's a bit surprising to hear the negativity on our SEO Analyzer. It was built by top SEO professionals using industry best practices. In addition to SEO our goal is to have a simple way to embed products so that you can convert readers into customers. If there is some part you found hard to use or we didn't make intuitive we'd love to hear your feedback so we can improve.

So far, so good. I can insert blocks, and create very custom blog posts that look great on any device. However, the app suffers from the restriction of inserting its code into the theme's template. So, for example, if you want a full-width layout, and the theme's blog post template only has a 50% centered layout, you'll need custom CSS to get it to look the way you want it to look. But that is not a fault on this app. This app works as intended, so far. Just be aware of the limitations. I used flowzy's custom CSS plugin to add the additional CSS. I wish there were a way to easily add related products into blog posts. Right now, it's very hacky and not automated.

It's a pretty solid page builder. Lacking some functionality, especially around your ability to position elements, but nothing that can't be fixed in later updates. I wish that I could edit the category pages with greater precision. My biggest problem is with the price. They keep raising it. $39 a month for a basic page builder is just greedy. If it were around $15 a month I'd give it 4 stars.

The bad reviews are true. Half of the products are crap from Aliexpress. The other half have such low margins that it's impossible to build a great business around it. Shipping times are long. Even on the "Premium products", that are supposedly from the USA and have short shipping times, you see that most of them are from China and take 14 days to deliver. They make false claims and don't give refunds. Their support responses to negative reviews are incredibly passive aggressive. Classic scam company. You can still make money with Shopify, but not with this route. Source your own products and use Shopify as the payments processor. This company is trash.

Developer reply ·

Thanks so much for your honest feedback. This would greatly help in improvements we can make to the platform. May we please know which products you're referring to? It'd be great to know so we can do a review and see what we can do. Regarding your refund, we review each request carefully, including yours, and take the necessary steps after each assessment. We were informed that the Support team has been reaching out to you to work on resolving your case and we do hope you give us a chance to do so. Hoping to hear from you soon!

Back in stock notification doesn't work. They ask you to contact support to fix it. They don't even give you a contact form. You have to open up your email client, ask for help, and wait. And also, charging $19/MONTH for software that collects an email and sends a notification is highway robbery. There are more affordable alternatives that work better than this

Developer reply ·

Hello and thank you for your feedback. We actually offer a contact link within the Back in Stock dashboard (‘Help and Support’ -> ‘Contact Support’) at the top of every page. We’re standing by to help. I confirm our app works (99.9% uptime). In rare occasions the app doesn’t render perfectly with a particular theme (maybe this is what you meant?), in which case simply contacting our support team would have solved this for you very quickly. We believe our pricing to be competitive, but offer a 30 day trial so shops can decide if it’s right for them. This app lets you import content from wish.com, and another obscure fashion site. Wish.com is known to have extremely low quality stuff with long shipping times. This app is properly executed from an engineering perspective, but functionally useless and morally questionable.

This app lets you copy all of the content on a product page such as amazon or etsy, and add that product info to your site. It doesn't offer any way to get the products at a wholesale price, or at least to automatically fulfill orders. So if you are using this app, you are just selling stuff on your site that people can get cheaper on Etsy or Amazon. This app is properly executed from an engineering perspective, but functionally useless and morally questionable.
