Tolstoy is amazing. There product itself has so many great functions for all size businesses. I'm a solo owner and I do everything myself, so it has been a great tool. There customer service is among the best in the AI industry. I have come across some real bad ones, but Tolstoy, their customer service rates at the top.

Tolstoy has been a great addition to my Shopify store. I’ve been looking for ways to make my website more interactive and give customers a better way to experience my products, and the video features make a big difference. I especially like being able to create engaging product videos and connect them directly with my store. It gives the website a more modern, professional feel and helps bring the products to life instead of relying only on photos. There was a little learning curve while getting everything set up, but once I understood how it worked, I could see a lot of potential for my brand. I’m excited to keep experimenting with Tolstoy and using more of the features as my store grows. Definitely a useful tool for Shopify brands that want to make their storefront more engaging and interactive.
They have really great customer support - special thanks to Mark for solving my issue quickly. I don't love using the app since they became so AI dependent - you basically have to prompt your way into customizing widgets that you could simply install on the storefront before.

Highly recommend Tolstoy, not only because it’s a great addition to your site, but because their customer service is also amazing. Earl Sarsuelo is incredibly responsive, helpful, and genuinely invested in supporting us. He takes the time to understand what we’re trying to accomplish and is always thoughtful about helping us get the most out of the platform. Anytime we have a question or need help, he’s quick to jump in and find a solution. It makes such a difference to work with a company where you feel like there are real people behind the product who care about your success. We are big Tolstoy fans!

We canceled this subscription 19 months ago and a representative Francis confirmed in writing that it was done. They even admitted in an email that one month had been charged by mistake and guaranteed the cancellation would go through. It never did. They kept charging us $299 every single month for 19 months — $5,681 total — and we only caught it when we checked the app. Now they owe us that money back. Check your statements if you ever tried to cancel with this company.
Credit where credit is due. I had previously given this app a negative review. Since then the team at Tolstoy have worked diligently with me above and beyond to make improvements to a point where my facial expression went from a dark scowl to a ear to ear grin! In this short time since the team have contacted me, the outcomes have been great. Sure, it is not instant and there's learning of both a human nature and AI nature to consider but the outcome is well worth it already saving us much time and effort. No more photo shots on location and all the variables and costs that go along with it in this fast paced time poor world we now live in. We are now at a point we are enthusiastic about really deep diving inot what we can do with it. Also, the fact we are dealing with a business that cares and strives for improvement with outstanding customer service means a lot. I am a convert.

I had one video on a product page doing something strange so I reached out to tech support. They got back to me right away and got the problem resolved quickly. This product overall has been really great. This is the first time I've had any sort of glitch with it. I appreciate the great customer support!

This shitty app breaks week after week after week. It's the most unreliable app I have ever used. I can't wait to build it in-house and get off it. Save yourself the energy. Expensive, overpriced, and awful. They keep investing in AI but they can't even keep the core of the app operational. It's embarrassing at this point.

Unclear billing and repeated upgrade pressure. I was being charged overages based on “billable impressions,” but the numbers do not match my Shopify and Google Analytics data. Remarkably, Tolstoy’s own team has given me different explanations of what counts as a billable impression: scrolled/seen, unique impressions, and page-load impressions. When I raised concerns about this, I was repeatedly pushed toward upgrading instead of the explanation of what I am being billed for. A promised refund --for one billing period-- took weeks of follow-up. I have now asked them to review my full account history because of their own inconsistencies around “billable impressions.” Use caution with Tolstoy’s overage billing.

Wes arranged a demo and showed us exactly how Tolstoy could bring value to our brand specifically, even presenting use cases tailored to our products. It was clear he had taken the time to research our brand before the meeting, and throughout the conversation he was thoughtful about how Tolstoy could elevate our marketing. He was ultimately the person who sold us on the platform. The quality of the content produced has been on par with some of the professional shoots we have invested in previously. We explored three other platforms and attended demos with each of them, but ultimately chose Tolstoy because, aside from its first class content generation and wide range of features, the customer support truly set them apart from every other platform we explored and engaged with. It was clear to us that they are focused on supporting long term brand growth and care about far more than just the subscription itself.

Niezl was very helpful! But it was too long talking to the bot before I was finally able to chat with Niezl. Overall, the customer support was really good, they always make sure that every issue is sorted.
Niezl was super helpful throughout our multi-store Shopify setup. She quickly diagnosed several issues - products not syncing in our Canada store, assets not displaying correctly on UK PDPs, and OOS products hiding content. Clear, responsive, and proactive with follow-ups. Great support!

I had a huge issues with this app slowing my store so dramatically - conversion rates on 1 day were amazing, on other day - complete 0 due to technical issues and something being not set correctly on my end. Tolstoy is a great app for creative content generation. It's been working extremely well for our fine gold jewelry business. Their customer support team is excellent. Very fast response time and detailed explanations on how to use the app.
We’ve had a really great experience with Tolstoy. The platform has been such a valuable tool for our site, and the support team is always incredibly helpful. Earl helped us solve an integration issue quickly and made the whole process feel easy and stress-free.
Tolstoy has worked great with some of our products, but with others, we had trouble creating accurate lifestyle images. However, Tolstoy has been great in helping to resolve this. Video calls to go through the prompts with in-depth analysis and changes for us. They even rolled out an update to specifically fix some of the issues that we faced. I would recommend to anyone who is having issues with anything to book a call with them so that they can show you how to really use the app. Once you understand how the AI works and learns from you, then you can really make some amazing content!
Had a hard time linking my videos to my product pages, but Earl did a great job assisting me. Once you get past the AI bots, the customer service team is excellent!
Amazing experience with Tolstoy! Emmanuel is so patient and responsive, and was able to answer all of our questions and customize the app to us. We’ve had a very positive experience with Tolstoy’s Customer Success Manager, Emmanuel, and the technical team. They are highly responsive and quick to act. While we encountered some setup issues initially, any bugs were resolved promptly, with clear recaps and updates provided throughout. Communication was always polite and easy to follow. Emmanuel has been especially supportive, patiently guiding us through the platform step by step. Even without being very familiar with Shopify or the platform at the start, we felt well supported and confident using it. The AI studio also performs very well, producing more stable outputs than other AI tools we’ve tried and saving us time in post-production. Overall, Tolstoy is a platform we’d recommend.
Super service and a really great app! The support team is always very helpful and quick to respond. Every time I contact support, my issue gets fixed fast and reliably. Especially worth highlighting is the developer team, which implements custom adjustments according to my requirements very quickly. Overall, a fantastic app — highly recommended!

We've been utilizing Tolstoy for several years, and have never once had an issue that the team did not immediately resolve for us. Looks great! Had issues at first with our theme not having blocks/sections, contacted support and they installed it on our website in a few hours. Mikaela was our support representative and she was incredibly helpful throughout everything. Very easy to work with, didn't need much from us to install the widget. Excited to see how this performs for us : )
I have been using the app for more than a year on a couple of my stores and it's amazing! It's easy to navigate and the Customer Case team is always there to help you if you encounter any issues or difficulties.
The app is good, but all the extended functions are not worth the extortionate variable costs this app generates. Buyer beware - keep a very close eye on your impressions and expect hefty monthly fees for that usage. We have chose to remove the app in favour of less functional alternatives that offer the core functions we needed at 1/10th the price.

RIGHT SUPPORT WHEN NEEDED — but watch the charges/impressions Tolstoy is an excellent app — shoppable video stories for e-commerce really bring products to life. We’ve used it for over a year and it definitely adds value. We did face a difficult experience with charges that added up to thousands of dollars over many months, mainly due to our own lack of attention. The app does send monthly usage emails, but we overlooked them. Thankfully, once we reached out, the team — including the CEO — listened and worked with us to find a fair solution. That level of support gave us confidence to continue with them. The concept is strong, the team truly cares, and the app delivers real value. Just be mindful to keep an eye on usage so you don’t get caught off guard. The integrations with Instagram, Google Drive and TikTok are a great tool of this app.
Honestly It’s difficult to find a faster and better CX response than what i have seen with these guys in Toolstoy. The person that attended me was Mikaela and she has been amazingly resolutive with a response rate below 1-2 hours for 5-6 different inquiries, supporting with screenshots and always very kind. Just for that I consider Toolstoy a trustworthy partner.
Great feature-rich app, and I really appreciate the support team. They’re incredibly patient and helpful. There’s just a small issue for those in the JST time zone, but they really went above and beyond to assist. If I had one suggestion, it would be about the chat notification system. Sometimes it doesn't send email alerts, so you have to keep an eye on the chat box. Other than that, great experience overall!

Fantastic app! It looks great on our product pages and really helps show our products in action. As others have noted, the back-end UI could use some refinement. It's nearly there but can be frustrating to use at times. For instance, being able to click a product in the library and jump straight to it for adding more videos would be a big improvement.
Thinking about Tolstoy? DO IT!! It's an amazing app. The support team are very responsive and an absolute joy to deal with as well. One way the app has assisted our business is that we were able to embed a video on certain product pages that communicated a specific supply chain issue that we had with certain imported products. This meant that the video was uploaded once, and answered any questions our customers may have had in relation to that specific group of products. The result? An enormous amount of time was saved having to communicate with each individual customer inquiry. This is a must-have in any eCommerce store... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
