Had a few minor issues setting up, primarily due to me not fully understanding the capabilities of the app. Support was responsive, helpful and patient, especially when I kept coming back with more questions! I have now had the app installed for almost two weeks, and so far, so good.

It’s completely normal to have questions when exploring a new app, and we’re always happy to guide you through it. It’s great to hear that after almost two weeks, everything is going well. If anything else comes up as you continue using the app, we’re always here to help 🚀

Just a heads up for anyone planning to use PayPal to pay for orders. Despite the note above saying “it works with PayPal”, that is no longer accurate. PayPal was removed as a payment option over 4 months ago and has not been reinstated. We have followed this up every month since it was removed and have consistently been told that there has been no update from the finance department. After 4 months, that response is difficult to accept. Either it is being worked on(to reinstate), or it is not. It should not take this long to confirm something so straightforward. PayPal had been available for years, so its removal without notice, combined with the lack of a clear answer on if or when it will return, leads to one obvious conclusion (which has been denied by JetPrint). Lastly, beware of their “express” shipping. It is not the full express model used by most. For US orders, a local Chinese carrier will ship it from China to Canada (slowly). Where it will be handed over to Fedex. This often takes longer than Yun Express which goes direct to the US and costs 3-4 times less than Fedex.

Emailwish sounded like the perfect app, with prebuilt flows and prewritten emails. What it does not mention is where the problems start. I am writing this after contacting support two days ago asking for an urgent response, and I still have not received a reply. 1. They say “Get started without writing any emails. No need to even edit a template.” This sounds great, although the reality depends on your audience. It is strongly recommended that you review every email and edit them so the style and tone match your brand. Otherwise your customers may receive lines referring to “juicy deals”. While starting without writing emails is technically possible, it is not something we would recommend. 2. The test emails we received showed the sending URL as “maileremailwish.com”, not our store domain (for example @yourstore.com). If you have been emailing for years from your own domain, where customers have added you to their safe sender lists, that benefit is lost. We did not see any mention of this sending domain during installation or setup. If this is only limited to testing, this was not mentioned, and support have not advised otherwise. 3. Everything appeared to activate automatically as soon as we entered our store details in the setup screens. We had not even reviewed the emails at that point, yet everything was already set to send. We had quickly to manually change each automation to inactive. We also had Shopify Email flows running existing automations, and at no point did the app explain whether these needed to be switched off or if the app overrides them. 4. After installing Emailwish and adding the TXT records it instructs you to add, we received a notification from email provider saying: “Sender Policy Framework (SPF) for your domain has been disabled due to discrepancies in the SPF record configured in your DNS settings.” We assume this was caused by the app. There was no warning about this during setup. 5. We chose the free plan while we prepared the app for testing. Today it shows the plan limit has been reached, even though we only sent one test email. If this app delivered only what it claimed, with prebuilt flows and prewritten emails that integrate cleanly with Shopify Flows, it could have been very helpful. Instead there are several hidden issues, unclear instructions, and an overall poor experience. We still have not heard back from support. We will be uninstalling the app. Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We genuinely appreciate it, and it helps us continue improving the experience for every store. Regarding support communication We could not find any email or chat request from your store in our system. The only communication we received was an automated reply from your end, stating that your inbox is monitored Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEDT and that replies may take up to two business days during high-volume periods. It seems your message may not have reached us, so we never had the opportunity to respond. 1. Prebuilt flows and email tone You’re absolutely right that tone and wording matter. Based on your feedback, we have removed the specific wording you mentioned and updated our templates to use more brand-neutral, emotionally neutral language. This makes the default experience smoother for all store types, while still allowing full customization if needed. 2. Sending domain and “maileremailwish.com” Until a domain is verified, test emails are sent from our mailer domain, which is standard across all major email platforms. Once verification is completed during onboarding, all emails are sent from your own domain automatically. Domain authentication is essential for deliverability and inbox placement. 3. Automations activating automatically Automations can be turned on or off instantly. Even so, we are improving the onboarding flow to make it clearer when automations start and how they interact with any existing Shopify Email flows or any other flows for that matter. 4. SPF record issue SPF issues generally occur when a domain provider overwrites or blocks combined SPF records. EmailWish only provides the record, we do not change anything in your DNS. We’re more than happy to get on a quick call and help you merge the SPF properly with your provider so everything works reliably. 5. Free plan limits The free plan includes up to 100 subscribers. If your store has more than that, the plan limit will appear as reached even if only a test email was sent. We will also improve our notification timing so plan-limit emails arrive clearly and on time. We’d be very happy to assist with setup, authentication, or anything you need if you decide to give EmailWish another try. Our goal is always to make the experience smooth, transparent, and reliable for every store.

Initially, we were very happy with the app and the support provided. However, as our usage scaled to around 500 interactions per month, a couple of issues emerged (noted below) , and the initial support experience for the latest issues was a little underwhelming. That said, support did come through in the end. - Occasionally, customer preview images wouldn’t attach to the order. We were told this may occur if the customer's device doesn’t have enough memory to generate the preview image before adding it to the cart. The app builders preferred the app to still be able to add the product to the cart without the preview versus the add to cart not working at all. Whilst understandable (and preferable to the cart failing), it can add time to the process of creating the product with the customer selections when previews are missing. This is not so much an shortcoming with the app, but rather just something to be aware of when using the app (which we were not at the time). - In another case, customer form selections were completely missing from an order, despite validation rules being in place. Support initially responded that they couldn’t replicate the issue and were therefore unable to help, which was frustrating. After posting our review, support re-engaged promptly. They investigated further, requested collaborator access, and identified that the issue stemmed from a setup error on our side. One part was resolved directly by support, and they provided documentation to help us resolve the second part. This was appreciated. That said, while the issues were caused by incorrect initial setup (by us), it would have been more helpful if the initial support response had included possible causes like configuration issues - especially given the symptoms described. A more thoughtful support process from the start would have avoided much frustration. Updated nov 2025: Just thought we would add a limitation we recently discovered. If a customer adds a product to the cart that has used LPO (live product options), and then does not checkout, then if they subsequently do complete checkout by clicking on an “abandoned cart email” automatically sent by your store, then all the options the customer selected will be erased and the customer can check out with a blank product. App support advised “Shopify does not allow third-party option data or app data to be injected into the default Abandoned Checkout Email. That email is controlled by Shopify, and the content is locked down for security and deliverability reasons.” We were not aware of this limitation. The only workaround appears to be stop your abandoned cart flow (email), or don’t use the app. In summary: The app is great and does what is says on the can. When support is proactive, they’re excellent. We’ve revised our rating to 4 stars to reflect both the initial frustration and the strong recovery by the support team. As always, happy to (and will) review this score going forward.

Developer reply ·

Thanks for the honest and fair feedback! I want to assure you that our app undergoes extensive testing, including automated tests for the add-to-cart and order flows with every new version. This process helps us prevent app specific bugs and maintain a smooth experience for our customers. Based on your description, the issues you’re experiencing are very likely related to theme or device specific factors, which are unfortunately outside the app’s direct control. I've replied to your support ticket and i'm offering a free theme audit to avoid any theme specific issues going forward. All the best Michael

If you’re looking to do embroidery, stay away. Im not sure i can convey just how bad the experince has been. They are not able to tell you why something "fails" digitsiation. Just that it does. The poor communication and what feels like constantly shifting embroidery guidelines make it unusable. You can submit a simple design a simple as three large uppercase letters (e.g., “ABC”) and have it approved - then submit the exact same design with different letters (e.g., “DEF”) and have it fail without any useful explanation. We check each design and all meet the guidelines so when you get told "does not meet" it woud be somewhat helpful if they could say "what part" does not meet . All you're told is: “Digitization failed for the embroidery. Please update the design to meet the embroidery criteria.” We only submit designs that already meet the stated embroidery criteria, so when we ask, “Can you be more specific?” we either get no response, or the reply contradicts the embroidery guidelines. Example 1 – Polo Shirts: We ordered samples of three different polo shirts to compare shirt quality and embroidery. Immediately, there were issues. We were advised: • Front Print – Digitized Successfully • Right Sleeve – Digitized Successfully (this included multiple lines of text, complex script, and an image of an aircraft) • Left Sleeve – Digitization Failed The left sleeve simply had a 1” x 2” rectangle. We were told it was “too complex.” Yes, apparently a rectangle is too complex. When we pointed out that the other sleeve included an aircraft shape and complex script (clearly more detailed), we were then told the sleeve was “unsuitable for filled designs.” We referred them to their own embroidery guidelines, which say nothing about filled designs being unsuitable. In fact, it specifically mentions that small gaps will be filled, and advises to “keep your design simple.” You know, like a rectangle? I don’t think a shape gets any simpler. Nearly a week later, we still have no clarity on why it failed. As far as we can tell, it meets all the criteria. Thankfully this was only a sample - imagine a customer dealing with this. (Which, when you think about it, we are too.) Example 2 – Embroidered Caps: • Cap 1 – Featured 3 capital letters – approved, no issues. • Cap 2 – Same design, different letters – rejected. Order cancelled. We were told: “Digitization failed for the embroidery. Reason for rejection: Small Shape/Text.” We asked, “Can you be more specific - which shape or text is the issue?” Their reply: “We are currently in touch with the team responsible for the embroidery process and will keep you informed with any updates.” We referred them to the Cap 1 order, which used the exact same layout and was approved. The next day, we were told: “Your order had to be cancelled and refunded to allow for production to continue.” What the...? We still have no idea why it failed - awaiting response. I was hoping Printify embroidery would be a good alternative to Printful. While Printify is slightly more expensive, it doesn’t charge a digitization fee like Printful does. But clearly, that comes at a huge cost in frustration and reliability. UPDATE 28 Aug: Whlst their other products and support was previously (5 stars), there has since been NO support on any orders. When tying to login to view support tickets it says "user suspended". No details why and no explanation. Chatbot also does not connect to an agent. At this stage, there is NO support. Horrible experience for what was once a great service.

Developer reply ·

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience 🙏. We’ve located your account, and our team is currently checking what went wrong with your orders and embroidery digitization. We’ll be in touch with you soon with more details. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will make sure this is resolved for you ❤️.

I was initially very excited to try Zakeke, as its functionality seemed perfect for automating and streamlining our customisation workflow. Zakeke promotes "Printing Methods" as a core feature — to quote their own description: “This is where you can create a printing method and assign it to one or more products, sides, or even variants.” However, after setting it up with a Print-on-Demand (POD) integration, I quickly discovered a major limitation: you cannot assign additional Printing Methods when using POD. This was a dealbreaker for us. The app markets itself as both POD-friendly and focused on advanced print configuration — but in practice, you have to choose one or the other. If you opt for POD, you lose access to what Zakeke itself calls a “core” part of the platform. It’s frustrating. We were hoping to use Zakeke to automate and control our custom print setup, but instead found it lacked the very functionality we needed most. If you rely on POD, be aware: you won’t be able to create Zakeke’s Printing Methods. That said, - their support team is very responsive and provided quick assistance when needed.

Developer reply ·

Thank you for your honest and detailed review — and you're right in pointing out this limitation. Printing Methods are indeed one of the most powerful features in Zakeke. They not only allow customization of the design tools available to end customers but also define the type and structure of the print-ready file expected by the merchant. However, when it comes to Print-on-Demand (POD) products, we currently restrict access to Printing Methods. This is because POD workflows involve automatic file generation and submission to the POD provider, and allowing full customization of these parameters could result in files that are incompatible with the provider's print requirements — potentially causing orders to fail. That said, we fully understand how this can be frustrating, especially for users looking to combine the flexibility of Printing Methods with the convenience of POD automation. We're actively exploring ways to address this limitation, including a simplified version of Printing Methods that would be compatible with POD workflows without risking file rejection. We truly appreciate your feedback, and we're glad to hear our support team could assist you quickly. Your input helps us shape the platform and improve it for all users.

Disappointing Experience – Usability Issues While the app has potential, it suffers from fundamental usability issues that make it impractical for us to use for most of our vendors. Key Issues: 1. Commission Assignment Visibility o The app allows assigning commissions by percentage or dollar amount per product, but once assigned, product names are truncated to only the first word. o Example: If selling pet products, items like "Dog Bowl," "Dog Leash," and "Dog Collar" all display only as "Dog," making it impossible to distinguish between them. o The only alternative is using SKUs, but this becomes impractical when dealing with hundreds of variant SKUs. 2. Product Search Flaw (Partially Fixed) o Initially, the search feature displayed every product containing the search term, including inactive products, with no way to filter them out. o If the desired product wasn’t in the first set of results, there was no way to select it. o This issue was eventually addressed but was surprising, given the app has been available for years. Overall Experience: We reported the commission assignment issue early in our trial period, yet a month later, it remains unresolved. Additionally, the last update was on March 4th, meaning no progress has been made since our trial ended. This lack of responsiveness is disappointing, and unless improvements are made, I cannot recommend the app. Update 24/03/25: The issue "1.Commission Assignment Visibility" was fixed Friday 21/03 after leaving this review on the 19/03 so now works as one would expect. Thankyou

Two updates in this review – 1 update after initial installation, and 1 after the issues I experienced were corrected. Update 1: This app on the surface appeared perfect for my needs. And to save 17% on the price, I purchased the annual plan at $79.99. Sadly, since installed on May 14th, I’m still not able to use it. Issue 1: May 15th: Tried to add a product specific message however no products would load when selecting the relevant Collection the products were part of. Raised a support ticket on May 15 and happily it was resolved the next day. However, I’m a little amazed at how such a common item such as a “collection” could possibly be an issue for this app out of the box. Issue 2: May 20th. Cannot even view the app – just a blank screen when it is selected from Shopify > Apps. Raised support ticket on May 20th. On May 23rd was advised “We apologize for the inconvenience you have faced. We’re very sorry. We will take care of the “issue” on top priority for you. Please hold patience with us.” May 25th, asked for an update on this top priory tissue. So, after almost 2 weeks (post app installation) I was not able to use it and only received an update after the day after this review was posted. Updated 2: On May 26th Support team contacted me and corrected the Issue 2 that was raised on May 20th . After giving them store access Issue 2 was corrected. Then after an uninstall and reinstall the app began to load again….but…..Issue 1 was now back and I could not find any collections in the “product specific message” section. After alerting their support team it was rectified within 24 hours. But again, I’m a little amazed at how such a common item such as a “collection” could possibly be an issue for this app out of the box (and also after it was previously corrected). Now, all that being said, the app has worked flawlessly since. It took a while and support did fix finally the issues after a bit of prodding on my behalf. Would I recommend it ? YES. But, be aware that from my experience so far the support are not as attentive as other apps I have used.

Lots of recent 5 star reviews with only one sentence comments always makes me do that extra bit of due diligence and as part of that i check out the stores leaving these reviews. I recommend that you all check out the stores leaving these 5 star reviews too. Anyway, I had high hopes as design interface was quite good and placing sample order was easy. Then it all went bad. There is simply no way I can confidently scale with this company based on the experience I am having with this sample order. Ordered a pair of sneakers on 20th January which gave "3-5 days" production time. 10 days later order still not shipped. After sending an email and waiting i was then told "3-7 working days" (which had also already passed). Anyway, i waited (not much choice). Finally I got a tracking number . I had paid for express shipping so thought I would get these fairly soon after production was complete. Nope. Still waiting and tracking still shows as "Shipment information sent to FedEx" . That's the last update from 21st July and here we are 10th August and no sample order has arrived and no updates. There is no way I would put volume through this group given the experience I have had so far. I am not angry, just genuinely disappointed and relieved. But better to find out now with one sample order than 500 legitimate customer orders. Feel like I dodged a bullet here.

UPDATE July 11th: Here is an example of a recent transaction I am trying to get corrected due to PP sending the wrong color shoe – twice. Despite me asking for shoes they keep offering a refund as “We are afraid that our production team might again missed the details due to volumes of orders that are lining up and they are dependent with the information that is showing in the system.” – this is VERY VERY VERY concerning if they cannot process an order to correct an error their system has generated. We are now verging on incompetence - I'll let you be the judge. June 10 – I advised PP that customer received the wrong colour shoe again June 17 – PP emailed: “We will further investigate this with our facility. We will circle back the soonest time we get the response from them.” June 19 – PP emailed: “Would it be possible to send the picture of both items that your customer received (Old and new order). Our facility needs it for reference.” June 24 – I obtained photos from customer and sent to PP June 30 - PP emailed: “Thank you for the pictures. Our sincerest apology for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We would like to ask if a refund would be amendable to compensate the order. We are afraid that if we are going to process a replacement, our facility might missed to it again due to volumes of orders.” June 30 – advised PP the customer wants the shoes they ordered asap and not a refund. July 3rd – I asked PP for an update as have heard nothing July 9th – I asked PP for an update as have heard nothing July 11th – PP emailed: “We have received the request for the order. We are afraid that our production team might again missed the details due to volumes of orders that are lining up and they are dependent with the information that is showing in the system. This was also the reason that the replacement was also missed.” Original Review: I have no issues with the app itself. There has been one or two times where it wasn't uploading new designs but 24 hours later was fine. BUT, using the PP app you're designs will end up on one of these two sites: https://merchfactory.store/ https://merchfactory.sale/ I have raised it with them multiple times and nothing has been done (in fact it was initially said that it was my fault). I have uploaded designs to PP App and then imported to my store but then did not make the product live. I've then seen that same design in one of the above 2 stores. PP denied any security issues. I emailed PP again only last week and still no reply. There is either a security issue with the app between a store and PP app, or PP and the factories they use in China (which i wont name here). Pillow Profits, you need to get this fixed. Update (June): rating downgrade to 1 star. During April as shipping started to get impacted I started to utilize the option in the PP app to upgrade the shipping for each order to express shipping (this was before PP automatically put them on express and raised prices). What i didn't notice at the time (and PP were oblivious to this aswell) was any Canvas Low/high tops that were black toe/sole were somehow changing to white when shipping was upgraded. I raised this with PP and was initially being told i was doing something wrong on my end. I provided them with video showing it happening they finally said there was a glitch. They then agreed that if the wrong show color was sent out because of this glitch they would rectify if we got photo evidence from the customer. This initially worked for the first 4 or 5 pairs of shoes that needed to be replaced but now I am waiting literally weeks for these exchange requests to be actioned ...and then it can take weeks again for the production of the replacement shoe. Meanwhile customers are flipping out firstly because they got the wrong shoe, and then secondly because the replacement is taking so long. i have one request i sent on May 7th ....still not in production. followed up June 6th, 14th, 22nd and nothing. I have another from April 10th and still not in production. When I look at all the shoes that have needed to be replaced, they are averaging 4 weeks from my request to PP to the item being noted as shipped. PP , you're starting to drop the ball badly.
