Zakeke ‑ Customizer 2D & 3D

“Unlimited” plans... Retrospectively subject to storage limits and extra charges... We chose Zakeke’s “Unlimited” plan when we signed up years ago on the understanding that storage would be unlimited. We invested considerable time and money developing our platform around their 3D configurator. In August 2025, Zakeke announced storage restrictions and introduced new plans, charging additional storage fees. Our account, still in development, had already about 75gb of usage. Zakeke, without consultation, limited it to 5 GB even though the subscription continued (to this day) to be labelled as “Shopify UNLIMITED”. We disputed these restrictions as they do not reflect the agreement we originally entered into. And after a number of lengthy emails back and forth and months of being charged for over usage, Zakeke has made us an offer as "a gesture of goodwill" and we have now 50GB included in our plan. From our perspective, the commercial arrangement has changed after we invested in the platform, leaving us under pressure to pay more or constrain our project while the plan still carries the “Unlimited” name. Our dispute over the original entitlement and previous charges remains unresolved. Storage transparency is another concern. The dashboard provides an overall usage figure and some deletion controls, but we still lack the detailed asset breakdown needed to understand and effectively manage the storage being charged. For a business building a substantial product catalogue, predictable costs and clear terms matter. Based on our experience, we would advise merchants to think carefully before investing significant time and money, as Zakeke seem to be comfortable in changing their terms of business then enforcing them unto their existing customers retrospectively. In other words, they will make you an offer you can't refuse...

Great app with great support

Nice App - a few things that really stood out to us about Zakeke: - Directly tied to the order: The finished design is linked straight to the Shopify order — no manual back-and-forth sending files around. - Huge time savings on setup: Without Zakeke, we would have had to build the entire designer ourselves. This let us launch extremely fast, with far less development effort. - Multi-language support: Since we need the designer in both German and English, it was great that translation just worked out of the box. The app provides all the features we need to offer our customers a smooth design experience for their custom drafts. The configurator loads quickly and is easy and intuitive to use. Zakeke’s support team is fast, helpful, and always finds a suitable solution quickly whenever we have questions or need assistance.

Setting up Zakeke is very easy compared to other customizers honestly. I look forward to working with them for long term. This app appeared to be everything I needed and I was very wrong. I've never seen an app try to nickel and dime their clients so badly. Customer service is slow and unhelpful. They'll give you one answer to your question and then contradict themselves with a different answer to the same question; then offer to charge you an additional fee with a different app. I have invested a large amount of time into customization and I am now willing to throw that effort away and find a different app. I recommend to continue your search for this type of app and move along. Stay away from this product.

Great app with extensive features. Integration into shopify is quick and easy. Customizable products can be created from existing shopify products, so the plugin can handle variant products and stock levels. It has many options to build pricing structures e.g. based on print type, print size, quantity and more. The front end is designed well and doesn't feel like an external tool at all. We've tested several customization plugins, and this one finally has all the features we need. Plus, customer service has been really helpful with a few details we were missing.

Zakeke is a fantastic personalization tool! Easy to use, seamless Shopify integration, and great support. The 3D preview really helps customers and has boosted our sales. Highly recommended!

(Updated Review) Zakeke has truly impressed me—not just with the platform itself, but with the team behind it. When I first started using Zakeke, I rated it 3 stars. The seller tools were excellent, but the buyer experience had some frustrating issues. I shared my concerns, and what really stood out is that the Zakeke team—including the COO—personally reached out to understand and address them. Since then, we’ve been working together on improving key parts of the experience, and I’ve already seen meaningful changes. If you’re a seller and run into challenges, don’t hesitate to speak up—Zakeke listens and genuinely works with you to improve the platform. While it can be pricy, the combination of robust features and responsive support makes it worth it. It’s not perfect yet, but it has a lot of potential, and I now feel confident recommending it.

Great experience as a seller with the team. Fast, pro-active and friendly communication and a lot of willingness to find solutions and also advancing trust in growth. As the tool is constantly evolving, some reviews I saw here regarding a bad buyer experience are not true anymore. The usage for the customer is more intuitive now. Very reliable tool - would 10/10 recommend.

I was initially very excited to try Zakeke, as its functionality seemed perfect for automating and streamlining our customisation workflow. Zakeke promotes "Printing Methods" as a core feature — to quote their own description: “This is where you can create a printing method and assign it to one or more products, sides, or even variants.” However, after setting it up with a Print-on-Demand (POD) integration, I quickly discovered a major limitation: you cannot assign additional Printing Methods when using POD. This was a dealbreaker for us. The app markets itself as both POD-friendly and focused on advanced print configuration — but in practice, you have to choose one or the other. If you opt for POD, you lose access to what Zakeke itself calls a “core” part of the platform. It’s frustrating. We were hoping to use Zakeke to automate and control our custom print setup, but instead found it lacked the very functionality we needed most. If you rely on POD, be aware: you won’t be able to create Zakeke’s Printing Methods. That said, - their support team is very responsive and provided quick assistance when needed.

Thanks to the Zakeke team we have been able to develop an unique 3D model for our products. The detail and partnership we have experienced with Zakeke has been thorough in our entire process. I use Zakeke to create a 3D Guitar Configurator that enables my customer to preview and build their dream guitar. This helps me get rid of numerous back and forth mails with the customer to create custom renders, gives the customer real time preview with amazing features like dynamic weight and pricing. It really changed everything for us

Very cool and complete app with great customer support.

App works well. 3 stars because if you use Coreldraw, corel doesn't recognize the font when you import the svg. ( I did ask for help with this and they said it works fine with Illustraor etc..) This then causes a huge issue of figuring out what font was used. You can use Inkscape to figure it out but at that point I can do a layout way quicker. If they figured out the Corel issue this would be a great app. So to save my sanity I think I will be deleting it.

The program is great, and the features are excellent. The downside is that if something goes wrong with the app on the weekend, there is no customer service to get you back up and running. That's money lost until someone reaches out on Monday. On top of the monthly fee, the transaction fee adds up if you do a lot of sales.

We use Zakeke from few month now, we still have some works to make it perfect but already the system is working very well, i saw some comments that there is nobody to reply if you have a technical request , that is totaly wrong , we have full of the answers at our question . So in fact we are really happy about the system and the business that generated for us these last weeks .

One of the best customization tools out there on Shopify, support team is really friendly and helpful. If you don´t know something you can even ask them and they will respond and give you tips. Many updates and new things coming in a good average time period.

We have been using Zakeke for our customized products at DoorFoto.com for over 2 years now. The software is easy to use and the support has been great when we needed it, but to be honest, we have only had to reach out to them once in the past 2 yrs and they fixed the issues within hours.

We've tried a number of product and print customisers over the years. This is the only one that hits the mark. So much thought has gone into Zakeke for both backend and frontend. Support is helpful, excellent and quick.

Nach ersten kleinen tapsigen Erkundungsversuchen, wie die App und der Personalisierer genau funktionieren (was aber sicher eher auf meine mangelnden Englischkenntnissen zurück zu führen ist) - komme ich super mit der Anwendung klar und bin sehr glücklich mit den Optionen der App. Da ich immer die Möglichkeit einer Personalisierung anbiete, kann ich hiermit dem Kunden ein viel besseres und schnelleres Einkaufserlebnis bescheren. Ein GANZ großes Lob muss ich auch dem Support aussprechen: nicht nur, dass sie sehr schnell reagieren - sie sind sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und liefern tolle Arbeit. Egal, wobei ich ein Problem hatte - sie haben mir direkt und unkompliziert geholfen! Dafür noch mal 5 Sterne und ein Plus :)

I looked at this app briefly, but after reading Zakeke's rude responses to other customer's complaints and the unclear billing practice, I have decided not to waste time or money here.

I had access to this app for 6 months and paid their awful support team to install and set up the 3D modelling system, which cost approx £1.8k in total. The setup never got completed to a standard expected at the start of the project. I have near enough 80 emails trying to sort out this mess with their support. Constant problems and painfully slow to get resolved. Never mind the fact the platform is unstable at best so good luck if any issues arise on Friday night. You wont be selling for a good few days. A waste of 6 months. Don't bother with these guys unless you like a headache.

Zakeke is a great app for any 3D customizable product. What's even better is that their customer service rep's are extremely knowledgable, responsive, and friendly. Their business development representative worked with me to identify my successes and concerns with Zakeke before connecting me with their 3D team. They personally adjusted my flawed 3D model and sent it back to me to ensure that it worked seamlessly across their platform. Although 3D projects can be cumbersome and tedious, Zakeke made the experience simple and flawless. Highly recommend Zakeke to anyone looking for great customization and excellent customer service.

Without a qualitative demo or help it is not always easy or clear to be able to make everything correct within the 3D module, but if you email with a problem or question, they answer very quickly, friendly, super clear and constructive. They do a great work to fix the problem. Very satisfied with it.

Great little customizer app. Really easy to set up products and tune the user experience. Really useful that it allows you to create ornate shapes to use as image masks and there is a lot of features you can turn on and off. The plans are good too and allow us to grow our product portfolio gradually without it costing an arm and a leg! Having a full printable file is a huge timesaver.

It's ok it does what it advertises, but it takes a long time to load making my customer thinking it is not working and leave my website.

We have switched to Zakeke from a previous opencart platform. Zakeke far superior with a more intuitive customer interface and more powerful back end features. So far we are very happy we switched.

Currently using the Zakeke app to build a few custom product designers on the website and so far has been very happy with the options they provided. The 3D option is awesome.

I use the Zakeke app to enable my customers to add monograms and designs to the products they buy. I do the personalisation (Embroidery) and am not very computer savvy, but the app is easy to use and there are many helpful videos. They really DO contact you when you ask for help. I highly recommend Zakeke

This is a cool app that is enabling us to bring custom items to our customers. Setup requires some thinking but it is a complicated process connecting print on demand tech to custom apps. I am happy we didn't have to pay developer fees to build this internally and that this app exists. I would recommend to others looking to add custom functionality.

We have just moved platform to Shopify and tested quite a few personalisation Apps - Zakeke was by far the most capable and flexible and they were so helpful during even the free trial period. We have now set up our shop with a lot of products and found the process simple and straightforward - we are now looking forward to launching new ranges. We can not recommend Zakeke enough - a fair price, technically very capable and great support if you need it.

I used this app to help me add a section to my website for customer to do their own design, It helped a lot with creating this function However after using it i found it a bit difficult for the end user to understand the functionality of it , I would recommend to add a video tutorial for end customers to easi;y understand how to create your own design.

I've been looking for a customization app for a while and tried a few. This one is the best. It takes a couple of days to get set up but its really easy to use and the support is top notch.

I really am loving this app so far! It is exactly what I was looking for to help with my website needs. I needed support with a few things and the support team was quick to help me with my needs and help with setup. I only wish I could figure out how to add templates because I keep getting error messages so maybe I'm doing something wrong but don't want to keep bothering support because the last couple of things were right in my face lol. Definitely give this app a try! This is my favorite app on my store!

The app is very responsive and so is the staff. There are other apps that do the same thing on shopify. But where this app sets itself apart is the staff that supports it.

This plugin is going to be used all across my online printshop. It works beautifully. The support team behind it is untouched. They even are helping me setup the 3D product for my Business Cards which is the first product we're implementing this designer on. Over the coming weeks and months my company's plan is to expand the designer into all of our 100s of Print Products as our clients love a great designer option and we finally found one. A++

The apps works great but it could be more user friendly for the type of products we offer. But for the money you pay it's a great app and the helpdesk is very fast and always willing to help you.

I've installed and modified every similar app available on the Shopify app store, and Zakeke looks the best, by far. The app also has a ton of potential for future enhancements. I needed some help configuring the app on my product pages and Zakeke support has been great to work with!

In theory, this app works well. In practice, the app does not work as advertised. Apparently there are significant limits to the number of variants you can make available to customer (number of colors, sizes, etc). The customer support is non-existent and despite providing credentials to both my Shopify and Printful accounts, they've not been successful in showing me one situation where this app allows customization of a product and seamless creation of an order with the Printing partner. Turns out you need significant edits to your theme to make this work properly and to create customizable products as digital products that don't require shipping or weight thereby causing many issues for shipping. Overall, I wish this worked as advertised but it doesn't. The technical support is abysmal. Consider yourself warned.

Perfect App and awesome support! Thank you so much for your support! Zakeke does not only help out in text form, they even send you back the corrected .zip file ready to upload. Never seen a more customer friendly company before. I admit it is tricky at the beginning to understand the logic behind the upload, but to be honest it is quite simple if you spend a few minutes trying to understand it. Keep going like that, you are doing great!

This app is incredible. My clients are able to customize the handmade signs I make. I only had a tiny issue with the app once and the customer service was phenomenal. They helped me out and coded the part that was glitching within minutes. Thank you Zakeke! FIVE wonderful stars for this app!

We have been using the Product Customizer for about a year now. Fast, responsive customer support. Good app for the price. It works reliably.

November 2019 - UPDATE The app is working properly. I just had an issue and Nicola fixed it in less than 20 mins from my request (today is BLACK FRIDAY). Really amazing support, thank you! Ok, I am dealing with this from months. I just casually played with the customizer as a user (front end) and I just discover it's not working again. I have a plus subscription, I bought the "remove background" add-on. I based some campaign on the fact that this tool was running and working, but, again, it's stuck. I cannot test it every day and maybe I am just really unlucky, but so far I cannot say it's a fully trustable app, above all if you want to invest money to promote this "web customization" service on your website. The app it's very cool, the design is the best, but I experienced too many issues here and there. The support it's always ready to help, but "front end" issues are too hard to catch for me, I appreciate the support when there is a back-end issue, but I am really disappointed about the fact that I discover only casually front end major issues. They never send an email or an alert when something is not working for front end users. I think this is unacceptable. I hope it will be more stable and consistent in time with its basic performances.

Zakeke is simply the best app there is for product costumising. It simply works . I have downloaded other apps that was so difficult to configure and they were bugging at random times. However zakeke just get the job done which is what you need if you want to make money through your store

Zakeke is by far the best product designer on the Shopify app store. It seamlessly integrates into your shop and allows you to create your own design templates for products with a 3D viewer or choose from some Print On Demand companies and drop ship products with ease. Zakeke support and developers are above the rest. The listen to our needs and make necessary adjustments to improve the application based on feedback. Highly recommended!

FUNCTION: The product does work well, albeit with some limitations. - It would be nice if we could select different printing methods for different variations of products. - One odd thing: Every time a customer customizes a product, the customized version gets added to our Shopify store as a new product. Not a big deal, but odd. Other than this, Zakeke has integrated very smoothly with our site, and the mobile-friendly version works very well, too. PRICE: It should be noted that .eps and .pdf support is paid extra; by default, the paid tool only supports .png and .jpg files. SUPPORT: Phenomenal customer support. Carlo has been excellent to work with, and Francesca in the help team normally gets back quickly to any concerns.

I have tried many of the interactive product designers in Shopify for personalizing our prints. They all fell short in some way. Zakeke has been relatively smooth to use but what really sets them apart is their customer service. Each time I have run into something they respond ASAP. When there have been features that they aren't currently offering, they have worked them into their timeline and kept me notified about when to expect them. Looking forward to rolling it out site wide.
