I have been using Tax Rex for a couple of years, and I am very happy with the service. I sort of stumbled through setting it up, but they were very helpful, and they have been very responsive every time I have a question or need to speak to them about my taxes.
I had previously posted a two-star review because we were using the app to create tiered discounts. Since there's no way to exclude any products from this, gift cards were counting towards the total and were being sold at a discount. I reached out to the app support folks to beg for a solution for this, because we love the app otherwise, and they let me know they'd get back to me. In just three days they got back to me to let me know that they fixed it so our gift cards wouldn't be counted towards the free gift total or the tiered discounts. This was such magical customer service! I definitely recommend this app. I will say that it may be a little buggy when you first add it into your store, but the customer service is incredible, and whatever the issue is, they can probably fix it for you!

Thank you for your feedback. We have already forwarded your suggestion to our development team following your earlier chat with us. Currently, we are exploring the possibility of adding a feature to exclude gift card products by default from cart-based discount calculations. We will notify you as soon as the update is released.
I really appreciated how helpful and responsive Rakshit was during setup. He worked with us to make some customizations for the app to fit our store.
I really like this app. We rarely have a need for people to register for things, so we just use the free version, but it's got enough features to get the job done!
Edit: The developers reached out to let me know that they have added the option to let you select certain variants within a product listing, rather than selecting only full products. I haven't re-downloaded the app to test this, but it seems like a great feature to have added. ________________________ I'm sure this app is great for certain uses, but we were specifically looking for an app that would show a warning popup when certain variants were added to the cart. Unfortunately, you can only set it for full products rather than specific variants. For that reason, I feel like it's a little limited and doesn't meet our needs.
I have edited my review and changed my rating from 1 to 3 stars. The support folks have been very responsive about this. They got back to me to let me know that the issues we're having with all of our subscription orders is related to a setting within the app. For anyone interested in this app who offers subscription products, please be aware that there's a setting called Order Type that needs to be switched to Normal before you make this active in your store. The options are Draft or Normal. It unfortunately defaults to Draft, and this is what caused all of our subscription orders to not actually create subscriptions. We've switched to Normal and will now have to figure out how to set up the Free Shipping option, as it's a different setup with the Normal orders. I left my rating down at three stars because of the buggy nature of the app. As I mentioned before, we have had to reach out to support several times to have them fix something from the back end. They let me know that many of the issues have been theme-specific. We're using a really common theme, Dawn. I will continue to work with them to hopefully get this set up for our shop. We're really hopeful that this will be a great way to gamify spending. _____________ I really want to like this app. We are offering a tiered discount plan for our store and this app was a really great way to show people exactly how much more they needed to spend to unlock the next tier. Unfortunately, this app has been nothing but problematic since we downloaded it. I had a lot of trouble setting it up and integrating it with our website. I had to reach out to the developers several times and they had to fix several things in order to make the cart usable at all. Luckily, they were responsive and were able to fix most of the issues, but there have still been issues with the use of the app. Customers are having trouble deleting items from their cart and are abandoning. The app is also charging people for things that should be free. This has caused a lot of friction and abandoned carts. The major issue that we had is that this app does NOT work if you have subscription products. We offer subscriptions on one of our most popular products and recently noticed that several of the orders with subscription products aren't actually being tagged as subscriptions. Customers are checking out, thinking that they're subscribed, but iCart is interfering with the process of the subscription actually being created. This has caused a MAJOR issue and is a customer service nightmare. Only use this app if you do not offer subscriptions and if you're willing to deal with an extremely buggy cart.

Hello There, --> We have already responded to you in our email exchange. However, we have not received any response from your end (https://prnt.sc/JuzWObaMGv3E). The issue does not lie with the app; instead, you need to configure the app settings appropriately to resolve the problem. --> Could you please review the email thread? If you would like to schedule a call, please book a meeting with us using the following link: https://calendly.com/manoj-prajapati/30min.
*** SHOPS BEWARE! *** DO NOT USE THIS APP if your store accepts discount codes or has collections! If I could give this app negative stars, I would. I know that's dramatic, but the hell that we've been through with this app justifies the drama. We added this app to our store because we add free gifts at $25 and we were hoping to involve the customers more in the process by giving them choices for their free gifts. I got it all set up and it was working until we had several customers let us know that their discount codes weren't working and that the free gifts weren't there at checkout. We then toggled the button in the settings that says "Allow discounts in checkout with gifts" (it had defaulted to "disable discounts in checkout with gifts.") Okay...I wasn't sure why this was even an option. Of course, I want our customers to be able to use their discount codes. I reached out to support about this, and they warned us that this would create ghost products, but they wouldn't cause any issues. Unfortunately, this added a condition to every single one of our collections that says "product type is not equal to ghost_product," effectively adding every single one of our products to every single one of our collections. This has made our navigation useless, confusing customers, and has likely affected sales in the last few days. Additionally, this app will charge people for their free gift if they do use discount codes at checkout. We've had upset customers and have had to issue refunds. This makes out company look like we're trying to scam people! I reached out to support again and they confirmed that the app was supposed to add all of our products to all of our collections. That's just how the app works due to the ghost products that it has to make. The app was also working correctly when it charged people for their free items if they used a discount code. These aren't even bugs! It's just a poorly built and untested app! "We are just the beginners, so we are constantly developing and improving our application to make it more user friendly. Thank you for your honest feedback. We will be working hard on it to improve our application in the shortest terms." This is unacceptable. The Shopify App store isn't a testing ground for incomplete or malfunctioning apps. People need to be able to use discount codes with your app without it completely messing up our collections and navigation. The whole point of this app is to add FREE gifts to orders, not to charge people erroneously and to erode our customer's trust in our brand. This app should be removed from the store, improved, and TESTED thoroughly before anyone else has these horrible experiences. I definitely wouldn't trust any of the apps that these folks make. I'm sure they're all untested and not to be trusted.

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We appreciate your honest feedback, and after reviewing the situation, it's likely that compatibility issues were observed in your store. We would like to assist should you have other questions or concerns. Best regards, GoodApps team.
I just added the app and got everything set up. It was super easy, and all of the options are pretty quick to edit. I did have to reach out to their help desk because our gift card product page showed their widget on top and the standard gift card product information below it with two checkout buttons. Beatrix responded immediately in chat and fixed it for us!
Update: I've changed my review to two stars. Half of the reason we pay for this app is because of the back-in-stock emails that we can send to customers with specific products in their wish lists. Unfortunately, the emails only go out to people who have added products to their wish-lists within the last 30 days. (It used to only be 15 days, but they changed it to 30 after I contacted them.) Unfortunately, back-in-stock emails should be going out to 100% of the people who have the items wish-listed. That's the entire point of back-in-stock emails. I have been told that this is not a possibility "as it would disturb our app design properties." This is a bit silly. They shouldn't be offering to "send email alerts for low-stock, restock and price drops of wishlisted items" as an app feature if they can't actually deliver the emails to all of the folks who have the items wish-listed. I would also like to mention that I have been actively attempting to get to the bottom of this issue for MONTHS. My emails go unanswered until I reach out over their chat and then my email shave ben lost or the person who was helping me is no longer with the company. It's been an absolute mess working with these folks. I no longer think that this app is in any way worth $50 per month.
I downloaded this app, hoping to add a countdown on our out-of-stock products to inform our customers when the restocks would be. Unfortunately, the countdown doesn't work on out-of-stock products. The support got back to me super-fast to help when it wasn't showing up. I'm only choosing four stars because the functionality could be better and the fact that it doesn't work on out-of-stock products could have been communicated in the documentation somewhere (or somewhere more obvious, since I spent an hour trying to make it work and couldn't figure it out.) Thank you for the review. Glad to hear that support got back to you quickly. We are always striving to improve the usability and functionality of our app, so we truly appreciate your feedback.
I waited to leave a review until I was able to try the app out and see how it was working over a few weeks. All in all, I am very happy with this app and how it handles all of our subscriptions. We offer a subscription to a single product and that product is only shipped out every five weeks. I looked all over for an app that would enable us to run our subscriptions the way that we want, and this is the one! There are SO many ways you can customize the experience for your customers and SO many different settings to make the subscriptions work exactly how you need. We were able to set everything up so that it works perfectly for our niche product and customers. I will say that it took me almost two full days to get everything configured the way that we needed it to be for our specific needs. I reached out to their support folks more times than I'd like to admit, and they helped me with everything! I absolutely recommend this app, especially if you have some weirdo specific thing you're attempting to accomplish with your subscriptions.

Glad that we are able to meet your requirements. Good reviews like yours motivate us to work hard and continuously improve.
Review update: I was received a response from Irek on their support team, explaining auto-sync. Apparently, it updates daily at 2am UTC. That's when it grabs any new reels from your IG account and that's when they will then show up on your website. I really appreciate support getting back to me to explain what I had misunderstood. I think that this app is great, and I will be recommending it to anyone who asks. --- (I'm leaving my original review here so that anyone can see the issue I thought I encountered, and the solution provided by their support team.) I was able to get reels onto my website, but it seems like the auto-sync function isn't working because any new reels that I post aren't showing up. I have tried to contact support through their chat and have gotten no response. I'm not sure if I misunderstood what the auto-sync function was supposed to do, but I will need assistance if I am going to continue to use this app.
I waited to leave a review until I got a dozen Etsy sales so that I could see if everything worked okay, and it does! I am very happy with this app and the customer service! As I have been setting everything up, I've had to message Shirly a bunch with questions, and she's been super helpful. Order fulfillment is seamless. My Etsy orders show up with my Shopify orders and I just fill them as normal within Shopify. All tracking info is sent to the customer and its super simple. As far as I can tell, inventory synching is working well also! Just a few things to note about the app that I didn't understand when I started using it: - I just assumed that when I changed something in one of my Shopify listings, that it would sync with my imported Etsy one and vice versa. This is not the case. Once you import a Shopify listing to Etsy, no edits to either listing will sync to the other. (This isn't an issue for me. It was just an incorrect assumption on my behalf.) - In order to export listings from Shopify, you need to have a fixed shipping profile set up in Etsy. You'll need to export all of your products to that fixed shipping profile. Once they're exported, you can change the shipping profile to calculated if you would prefer, and the items will synch seamlessly. - This is an Etsy thing, not something specifically about this app: in Shopify, we allow our products to go into negative numbers as we make most of our products to order. This doesn't work with Etsy unfortunately. In order for a product to show as available on Etsy, the inventory has to be 1 or more, otherwise it will show as SOLD OUT. There's no option to "continue selling when sold out," like on Shopify. We changed all of our inventory to be +100, meaning if our inventory is 104, we have 4 items on hand. If our inventory is 98, we have -2 and need to make 2 of that item. Again, this is absolutely not a fault with this app, just something annoying we ran into when going cross-platform with our made-to-order products. And again, Shirly was really very helpful when I came to her about this issue.

Thank you for the a great and detailed feedback! You've explained about the app better than we do in all of our video tutorials :) There are gaps between Etsy and Shopify Inventory management and we do our best to bridge it with so you will be able to sell both on Etsy and Shopify. Thanks, Shirly.
I need to be able to have an option for my customers to add a $3 item to some of my products. I also need that $3 item to be inventoried so that I can keep track of the item and know when to make more. The app will allow you to create and sell a separate product (the $3 item), but there's no way to inventory it. Also, when I have that $3 item added as an option, if any customer selects to add it to their purchase, the original item that they were purchasing is no longer inventoried properly. I've been running out of things and overselling products and not understanding why, but I finally realized its all of the products that Advanced Options are tied to. I understand that it's complicated adding on that $3 item as an inventoried product, but it's absurd that any base product with an Advanced Option add-on item is not being deducted from the inventory when sold. I know that they're working on this, but they've been saying that for months. I've been paying for something that's messing with my inventory and I'm not a fan.

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We do understand your concern. The current app version was released in production not so long ago and we are constantly working on its enhancements. Inventory tracking is an essential part of any store and we are in the process of developing our own inventory tracking system at the very moment. The inventory tracking system we develop is a very complex mechanism, it will allow assigning stock to particular variants, not just separate option values. Also, it will be possible to link existing products/variants from your catalog to our option values. The implementation of such a system is a complex and resource-intensive process that requires time. But we are doing our best to launch it as soon as possible. We do apologize for the temporary inconvenience. Thank you for understanding.
I added this app so that my international customers weren't blindsided by taxes and duties upon receiving their packages, but I've had nothing but trouble with it. The support people who work for this company are awesome (hence the two stars instead of one), but unfortunately the app itself is terribly inaccurate. I worked with several of my international customers to ask them what their taxes were and they were absolutely never even close to what Zonos estimated for Landed Costs. They were always way higher than my customers had to pay. Additionally, simple things like adding UPS shipping was difficult because, again, the rates weren't even close to what I'd pay to ship via Shopify Shipping. I'm worried that the overestimations are scaring people away during the checkout process. I've just changed all of my shipping fees to say "You may be expected to pay taxes/duties upon receipt of your item." Problem solved and now I get to keep my $20/month plus whatever percent they were taking per international order.

Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our team. We strive for accuracy in our landed cost quotes and would be happy to review any quotes you feel are inaccurate. Inaccurate quotes are a typically the result of missing HS codes. We also understand that some merchants may be able to realize better shipping rates via Shopify's member pricing than you may have been able to negotiate independently, and in instances like this Zonos may not be the best fit. We wish you all the best in the year ahead and please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to give Zonos a try again in the future!
With the addition of the Volume Discount, I can now offer bundling within one product. This is what I was looking for and am very happy it's now an option!

It's good to hear that your satisfied with the app :) Thanks for the review.
I love this app. It's easy to use and the customer support is great. The functionality could be broader, but it seems like they're adding things all the time.
