[UPDATE 10-FEB-2020] -- I removed USO today. Since Pixel Union acquired Supple, they made it look pretty and changed to the Polaris interface. But they didn't do much more than that on this app. Believe me, I tried. Countless emails, live chats and videos with the team. Super nice folk -- but they kinda watched while others build a better mousetrap. My new solution uses two apps to accomplish discounting, including BOGO, discount tiers, BXGY, and discount links -- and UX. The overall quality is insanely great. I'm dropping USO to 3* because it doesn't play nicely with shareable discount links from Shopify (which means apps that use these codes, such as Smile.io) and the popups are butt ugly. Pixel Union could have made it better... time to move on. [UPDATE Sept 8, 2018: I STILL THINK USO is the most important merchandising tool in my store.] [UPDATE Nov 17, 2017: I STILL THINK USO is the most important merchandising tool in my store. Even after a re-theme (now on Turbo).] My store migrated Shopify in January 2016 -- and I was immediately frustrated with merchandising options, lack of BOGO, and upsells were just not intuitive. Is there an app for that? I first started using Bold Upsell since (at the time) it was the only game in town, but for months I was desperately looking for a better solution. In my opinion, Bold Upsell is a 1-star app due to all kinds of customer facing UX issues and terrible, terrible support. Bold also believes presenting a customer with 3 upsell options is a good choice (no! every expert says one upsell, period!). Bold Upsell does not redirect to cart after accepting an upsell offer (customer stays on the page - totally bad UX). They offered custom development to solve this for about US$5,000. Pass. I was also wanting to offer quantity breaks, and the only game in town was also from Bold: https://apps.shopify.com/quantity-breaks And I gave this app a 2-star review Bold QB used hidden-products/hidden variants to solve this. It was a disaster. Read my review... posted on Jun 13, 2016 Simultaneously, I was trying to find a BOGO (buy X get y at discount) and the only option at the time was Buy X Get One by Supple https://apps.shopify.com/buy-x-get-one And although I was uncomfortable with the limitations, at the time, the only way to do BOGO was using BuyX... but BuyX had a laundry list of incompatibilities, and in my opinion, I had to find a better way to do BOGO. Hidden products/variants didn't feed Facebook feed and it didn't play nice with OneClickUpsell and other integrated apps. But it NAILED the logic rules for BOGO, the customer facing UX was perfect, and the developer kept making it better... In January 2017, the developer of this app (Ultimate Special Offers - USO) told me he had been working on a better mousetrap for about a year... tl;dr There is no finer app at this time for discounts, upsells, BOGO, quantity breaks, and other special offers. Marius is a pleasure to work with, and although I have probably been a total PITA during onboarding, this app is "Best-in-class" for merchandising for Shopify at the time of this writing. Email communication has been exceptional. We are using USO for: 1. BOGO (such as buy any lipstick and get another, in any color, for 50% off)... WITHOUT USING HIDDEN VARIANTS and now, NO DRAFT ORDERS!!!!!!! 2. Auto add-to-cart of free item -- we use JustUno for popups and an effective marketing campaign offers the visitor a success page if she subscribes... and the "prize" is a link that automatically adds a free item to the cart. USO handles this perfectly. 3. UPSELL -- a well thought out and well-designed UX for the "would you like fries with that?" scenario -- this is UNLIKE other so-called upsell apps that analyze and make an offer in the cart -- well, you can... but... the magic here is product specific upsell offer -- a makeup brush that perfectly pairs with a powder, etc... These upsells convert. 4. Quantity Breaks. Without hidden variants!! ...among other things This app is deep, and now (28-MAY-2017) that "draft orders" are a thing of the past, there is nothing else out there in Shopify app-land that comes close. DO NOT be confused that this app has a variety of offers-- that's the whole point. And now, with the addition of stacked special-offers + coupon code discounts, and also passing a discount code from URL parameter also shares with USO, this is The Most Powerful discount app available. There are few things that I would like to see to make it "more perfect" - including hooks to a recurring payments app, such as ReCharge -- but with the recent API announcements from Shopify, this may not be needed soon... The BIG TAKEAWAY here is Supple has engineered a way to offer BOGO and Quantity Breaks without hidden products/variants and without using draft orders. And the upsell UX is the best in class.
Rewind just saved my ass!!! I was working a little too fast and I pretty much destroyed a product description during html editing. Silly me. I didn't THINK of worrying about code safety because I trusted Rewind. 5-stars!
I'm going to give this app a 5-star even though I removed it. The reason I removed it is my theme was already well optimized. The developer spent considerable time analyzing why the app didn't do much of anything for my store... and it was because I already have strategically optimized code. NOT THAT my store is perfect... it's just the way this app does things was not going to help my site. I think the concept of how the dev is approaching this is smart. And for some themes, it will help. I gave the 5-star because the developer is a pro and that says a lot to me.
TL;DR Just buy this app. It will exceed all your expectations. OK -- now the long version... The videos and laundry list of specs for this app are very clear. You don't need me to tell you what it does. I can first tell you what it doesn't do: It doesn't waste your time -- rather, you can build out well defined and proven page layouts in minutes. Literally, minutes. I said I wasn't going to laundry list features -- here are a few super-power-user options ZP provides: 1. open graph data, images. If you're lucky, someone is gonna social share your page. You want an image and page description that YOU control associated with the page. ZP handles og tags perfectly. 2. use your site header/footer -- seriously? yes. flawlessly. 3. the insanely tight integration into shopify PRODUCTS. A product CTA action can link to (here's the laundry list folks): a) a URL b) Add to Cart and load the Cart page c) Add to Cart and stay on the same page d) Add to Cart and direct customer to a specific URL e) the product page f) checkout (with or without a quantity selector) g) another ZP page and that's just the CTA actions for a product. Other CTA buttons offer links to CRM or email subscriptions, etc... 4. Variants. Yes. Very much aware of and tight integration for products with variants. We sell makeup products (lipstick, eyeliner, etc...) and most of our products come in 4-16 colors... and ZP handles this very nicely. 5. PAGES are actual Shopify PAGES. Hosted on your shopify store. And interact and function with all store scripts, apps and other linked services. Your analytics. Your Facebook pixel. Your popups and overlays. Your loyalty program. And if you want to be fancy, you can bring in dedicated scripts too. NOT on a subdomain!! SEO benefits, etc... This is turning into a laundry list... SO are there features or functions that I'd like to see? Sure.... high on my list are store global preferences. If we use the same CTA color for all new buttons, I'd like all new buttons to default to my color -- HOWEVER, ZP as it is remembers your colors so it's a minor thing. I'll update this review when they change this. [EDIT 30-AUG-2017] - using the IMPORT BLOCKS features makes this not all that important. I'd like to see reusable page blocks (user makes a library of common blocks, fully built out, ready to eat). [EDIT 30-AUG-2017] I just learned that WE CAN NOW IMPORT blocks from any saved page! This is incredibly powerful! Wow. I'd like to see alternate images for mobile. A 1200x300px banner looks great on desktop, but I want an alternate image we rendered at 600px square for mobile. I was told this option is coming too. >> [edit] this is possible by making a block and hiding the element for mobile and/or tablet -- so it renders correctly on the target device, but a bit clunky in the design layout to do this. [/edit] Support has been exceptional. This is a professional product supported by a professional team. It's not the cheapest page builder on the market, but it's arguably the tightest integration to Shopify PRODUCTS. IF you sell PRODUCTS on Shopify platform, this tool will save you hours and hours and hours. I will update this review when ZP rolls new features. I know you're gonna go pecking around on my site... and you may not know which pages are built with ZP and which pages are native. That's the point. [EDIT 21-FEB-2018] With the new BOOSTER PAGE features, and new templates, damn this is powerful. #gamechanger ZP becomes part of your digital hub connecting your ESP (Klaviyo) with FB messenger ads (ManyChat) and Amazon coupons too. The "booster page" features are simply insanely powerful. Yes, lots of moving parts. ZP connects the dots.
Love it! "Gamification" is a welcome addition to our site. After 2 weeks of Wheelio, we are averaging 19% opt-in on exit-intent. We're picking up hundreds of leads but more importantly, customers. The unsubscribes after receiving our initial welcome series is extremely low. We are excited about the upcoming improvements, including MailChimp integration. The developer really thought this through and provided a rich set of options. LOVE LOVE LOVE the gravity feature -- and we are offering some great promos to entice our visitors to become customers RIGHT NOW. Wheelio does exactly what you expect it to do. 5-stars.
I used Bold Product Upsell for about a year. Every day that it was installed, I was hoping they would either fix the defects, or something better would come along. This upsell app has countless "leaks" - that is, if customer adds an item to cart, there should be two choices once the upsell is offered: a) YES - add-to-cart; b) No Thanks. None of this "continue". And the redirect at ATC should be to the place determined by the theme. Upsell just sits there. When asked, Bold replied, "our customers want it this way..." No excuse for mediocre UX. Others have mentioned how this app does not play nicely with the Facebook pixel, especially if you use a professional solution such as Pixel Perfect. Watching the developer of Pixel Perfect and Bold support battle each other gave me a very bad taste about Bold's company culture. Pixel Perfect kept bending over backward, but Bold was not interested. Eventually, Pixel perfect simply coded around Bold without assistance. Then there was the absurdity of how this app bills for "views" and it SHUTS ITSELF OFF if your traffic exceeds your visitor estimate. Seriously. Every other app in the universe that bills based on usage will measure the usage, then you pay. No -- Bold Upsell is the only kid in the parade in-step. The fact that the app just shuts itself off is reckless. The fact that Bold management thinks this is OK says the company culture is messed up. I tried every other upsell app on the market -- I want an upsell at add-to-cart, and I want the yes, upsell to add to cart and redirect to where the store goes ay ATC (/cart) -- and the No Thanks to simply bring us to wherever the redirect would have ben for initial ATC. Which for my store is the cart. I tried them all, and none are ready fro production. After a year with bold on 4 apps (fortunately all removed except for product discount), I will be certain to avoid. This developer preys on inexperienced stores. Don't be fooled. PS -- I found the better mousetrap.
Shipping Tracker gets 5-Stars. I had been using Aftership -- then about 6 months ago Shopify started sending out "out for delivery" and "delivered" emails. Documented here: https://ecommerce.shopify.com/c/shopify-discussion/t/how-to-disable-out-for-delivery-and-delivered-notification-emails-348453 I was also using Klaviyo, and the Aftership webhook back to Klaviyo was tight and we were able to send post-delivery personalized emails based on product purchased. But. 6 months later, and I am using MailChimp now that MC has a super tight API integration with Shopify. And I learned that Shopify was sending "delivered" and "out for delivery" emails up to 5 days after the event. Seriously, Shopify? Shopify could not be trusted to send these emails... and after months of frustration, I asked them to disable these 2 emails. In the mean time, Shipping Tracker was released -- and it was significantly less expensive than AfterShip -- and the developer kept adding features!!! ESPECIALLY the app to MailChimp -- so when an order is delivered, you can create a mergefield in MailChimp and Shipping Tracker can tell MailChimp the customer had an order delivered. You then use MC segmentation: "if customer had order delivered and order contained product XYZ, then send email about product XYZ with helpful tips andlinks to video (um, and maybe an upsell ? Use your merchandising judgment for that) Can't say enough great things about the developer and communication and the reliability of the sms and emails. If you are depending on Shopify to send your all-important out-for-delivery and "delivered" emails, your customers are probably confused why you are sending them late. As in days after delivery. Shipping Tracker will solve this issue for pennies per order.
We've been JU customer for about 18 months - even before we replatformed on Shopify... JU by far has the most powerful targeting engine; the ability to include or exclude visitors based on geo, logged in, prior interactions, items in cart, referrer source, etc -- yeah other popup services can do some of this, but nobody has it as deep as justuno. Support is fantastic. And they are ALWAYS making it better... Month after month, extra enhancements that are always welcome. Just discovered that we can use a link or button to fire a subscribe popup. Just like Leadpages! This is powerful stuff.
Agree that Amazon style "Recently Viewed" can be a great merchandising tool. So far, so good and it works exactly as represented and no noticeable speed hit. A few minor things that I have brought to the attention of the developer: a) if you edit or change the app settings, the app snippet will also be overwritten -- so be careful if you made any changes to the snippet; b) we elected to move the snippet css to the main site css in order to minify and compress since this is used on all pages. Overall, this is a great addition. 5 Stars.
I'm giving Swell 5-stars after only 2 days since integration. Prior to Swell, I was using LoyaltyLion (for almost 8 months) -- and the difference is night and day. A bit of back-story -- prior to Shopify, we were on AmeriCommerce for a year and used their native loyalty system -- the native program on AC was flawed from inception because it allowed customers to use points in checkout, and yeah, we could have set minimums for redemption, but it just didn't inspire participation. We could have built out drip campaigns -- but it was on us to build something that looked good and functional. Prior to AC, we spent a miserable year on bigcommerce with SLoyalty. Enough said. We are very happy with Shopify and now Swell Rewards. The biggest pros for Swell: 1. Pricing model that increases as a store grows; 2. EVERY word of every text phrase can be customized to match the voice of YOUR store. 3. Mobile UI is actually designed for mobile; 4. You can modify any visual element with css; 5. On Shopify, guest customers converting to store accounts is a common theme - so Swell can "capture" the guest customer's accrued points, and now customer has all the points she earned; 6. Swell plays nicely with the other kids -- they use ScriptTag and is efficiently engineered. Does not slow your site down. Effortless integration. 7. Support was insanely great at onboard - I use CloudFlare for DNS and Swell needed to add a minor patch to be CloudFlare compatible. Took 5 minutes to sort it out. 8. I had a script that was not playing well with others. Swell identified this issue and helped me find a solution (email me and I'll name names); Ok, only on the platform for 2 days, but I'm impressed enough at the ease of configuring and onboarding to post this. I don't write love letters very often. If things change, I'll be back and update this. Thanks, Swell!
We moved to Shopify in February 2016. Prior to Shopify, we were on the AmeriCommerce (Spark Pay) platfrom, and then a miserable 9 months prior to that on Bigcommerce. Our path to Shopify is important because this will explain our review platform choices and solutions... On Bigcommerce (in 2014), we were using Yotpo. It was inexpensive, and at the time had terrible UX for mobile, Mac Mail.app and Outlook clients. Support was slow, and limited. And honestly, it was not a good integration. When we moved to AmeriCommerce in January 2015, we chose to use the native review system. This kinda worked, but it was missing all kinds of powerful features, rich snippets, SEO, etc... and it didn't have any carousel or sophisticated merchandising elements for the reviews. In June 2015, convinced that we needed a more powerful review platform, we did our due diligence and selected Shopper Approved. SA had some powerful features, but it was a NIGHTMARE to integrate, and it was not built for products with color variants. Color variations confused the crap out of SA and the support was non-existent. God help you if anything broke. It would be days or even weeks for Shopper Approved to help you. If you screamed loud enough, eventually, they would assist. Sometimes. SA never had a correct rich snippets integration and the SEO was poor. SA was not built for PRODUCT reviews... it was pretty great for "site" reviews... but products was slapped on and not done well. By November 2015, I was convinced I needed to move on - and I was also realizing that Shopify was a better place for me. Opportunity to migrate all of my verified reviews! And find a new review platform. I took a serious look at TrustPilot. These guys were snake oil salesmen. Pricing was all over the place. Once day, they'd call and offer a deal, then they'd take it away 9 hours later. But the #1 reason I had to avoid TrustPilot was the merchant will NEVER own their reviews. Forget about importing existing verified reviews by YOUR customers, and forget about taking these same verified customer reviews with you if/when you leave their platform. About this time I also made the commitment to move my store to Shopify (best decision I ever made) and also explored a few other platforms. [trust me, my review of Stamped.io is coming...] I met the folks from eKomi at a trade show, and eKomi looked fantastic. I made a deal. Signed a contract. Then it was integration time. Um, no integration for Shopify? But sales rep assured me... By this point I was working with the lead integration engineer, and I mentioned importing existing reviews (sorry, can't do this) and I wanted clarification about exporting verified reviews if I were to leave the platform... Nope. Sales rep was fabricating all of this to close the deal. Fortunately, my contract had a 30-day walkaway for any reason, and I was able to make that go away. Almost there. Stay with me. In January 2016, there were 2 relatively new review platforms in the Shopify app store: a) Judge.me b) Stamped.io (also called Product Reviews Addon developed by Shopry) c) and as an FYI, Yotpo was now $699/month and TrustPilot was asking $499/month At the time, Stamped.io was brand spanking new. And Judge.me really impressed me. I even gave it 5-stars (and still do). Judge.me's developer was responsive, eager to improve the product and it was no-BS. It was also inexpensive. But after 6 months with Judge.me, my needs (and my store) grew. I knew Judge.me's roadmap, and their priorities were not aligned with my needs. They are GREAT guys and I have nothing negative to say about them, but I needed something more. A more expensive solution with more features. But not $699/month. So I reached out to Stamped.io Tommy was a pleasure to work with. The features that I LOVE about Stamped.io "premium" are: 1. Review submission by customer from email. Works perfectly from iOS; 2. Widgets. Super important. 3. Social Media posting, and it's done perfectly. 4. MULTIPLE products in a review request. (Judge.me would send 6 emails if an order had 6 items. Stamped handles this much better IMO) 5. Dynamic coupons; 6. Product upsells in the emails; and a laundry list of features... and even more features for "Enterprise" plan. Stamped.io has more features than its competition and it is slightly more expensive for the "premium". If you want/need the features of the $699/month service, you can have it for 1/10th the price. I am thrilled with the support and the performance of this software. 5-Stars.
We've been using Judge.me since moving to Shopify ~4 months ago. On our old cart platform, we were paying Shopper Approved almost 10x the cost of Judge.me for arguably a lesser service. The developer has been incredibly responsive to all requests. Google organic is reporting perfectly. Thrilled that the developer continues to roll out features and enhancements. Comparing Judge.me to Yotpo or Shopper Approved is not fair, because those companies don't have responsive customer support. I am hoping Judge.me will add store-reviews and 3rd party trusted reviews. I am hoping Judge.me will add a widget with review summaries, for side-panel or homepage display. I am hoping Judge.me will add social network shares. Rumor has it these are in the works. I would choose Judge.me all over again. If you are reading this and you're paying for a $$$$ service, you can say goodbye now. If you can get them to export your reviews.
This app is fast and easy and does exactly what it says. Thanks for making this!
Great app. I have it on our about-us page as well as the cart -- builds social proof, etc... Developer was fast to respond to a technical question. It works as represented. Since the map is rendered as svg, it is super fast and doesn't hurt page-load speed. 5 stars.
