Updated Review: I’ve stopped using this app, and here’s why. We use separate services for AI-assisted email CRM and an AI-assisted virtual receptionist. I dislike how siloed ZipChat is. There’s no way to export conversation data to help with email or phone handling. Also, older training data was sometimes retained despite every effort to re-educate it, which led to some bad customer suggestions. I’m now using other services, but the inability to import or export data for training a receptionist or improving email responses is a major hit to productivity. That said, we did love this app. It answered more accurately, in most cases, than humans (as long as the info on your site was correct) and worked 24/7. Previously, I was answering chats myself, and only during a limited 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. window. Customers who tried to reach me outside of that time had their messages forwarded. One thing that would be nice in a future update: if a customer has an issue, rather than simply sharing our email and phone number, the chatbot could take a message and forward it to a queue or our inbox. The logs showed the bot provided *very good* answers with none of the hallucinations common to other chatbots. Other bots made up facts about our products that were sometimes humorously wrong. ZipChat even seemed to interpret some images on our site—or inferred the info another way—but often answered better than I did, and I designed all of our products. If you’re jaded from answering the same questions all the time, give ZipChat a shot. Now, please come up with a bot to answer my customer service emails!

Thank you for your review! We're glad ZipChat is helping you. Your idea for forwarding messages to email is great thanks! We're happy that ZipChat gives good answers and doesn't make up facts 😄. We'll keep working to make it even better. Thanks for using ZipChat :)

We recently switched to the SEA Accessibility app after realizing our old widget wasn’t addressing some key accessibility issues on our site. Tobias was amazing throughout the whole process. He not only taught me the ropes of how to use the app effectively but also helped identify and fix a few lingering problems that we didn’t even realize were there. The level of support has been outstanding, and it’s clear that the team really cares about making accessibility straightforward and effective. The app works smoothly, looks clean on the site, and gives us peace of mind knowing we’re offering a better experience for all visitors.

Commslayer has been a massive time saver. It allowed me to retire my virtual assistant and finally tame my inbox. Customer service via email used to be a miserable grind, where things slipped through the cracks no matter how much I tried to systematize it. Now, it feels like the inbox works for me, not the other way around. I do have two quibbles—not dealbreakers, but worth mentioning in the spirit of improvement: 1. Sending bug on iPhone. Whether I save Commslayer to my home screen, use Safari, or use Chrome, I sometimes hit a wall when pasting content from outside sources (usually ChatGPT or our website, when Commslayer hasn’t been trained on something yet, i will paste a response from an FAQ or paste multiple sources into GPT to help me make it coherent more efficiently). The “Send” button just refuses to cooperate until I refresh, re-paste, and try again. It’s not catastrophic, but it’s a persistent snag. 2. Knowledge base input. I previously used another AI chat that had 95% of my answers down—but it couldn’t touch email. Moving that data into Commslayer has been the real bottleneck. Adding knowledge one piece at a time is SLOW. What I want is bulk import, or better yet: the ability to dump in raw data and have Commslayer draft structured articles I can refine. Right now, the manual work is slowing my rollout of full automation. That said, these issues aside, Commslayer is a must-have if you deal with a high volume of emails and chats. ZipChat got me partway there, but it stopped at chat and handed everything else off to email. At one point, my VA was literally pasting chat responses into emails for customers—which, frankly, was genius on her part, but a waste of money on mine. I even tried signing up for Gorgias, but they insisted on scheduling a kickoff call before I could touch the product. I’m sure they had their reasons, but in my world, if I need a 30-minute discovery call just to try your software, I’m out. Commslayer, on the other hand, let me dive right in. No friction. No hand-holding and it works great.

Hey - Karri here. Let's see what we can cook for the knowledge import, I agree that it is too manual right now.

We sell quite a lot overseas, and we tried implementing flat rates, but there are always some areas where shipping is outrageously expensive. And we would take a beating. We needed a solution that allowed us to create custom rules for discounted shipping while still accounting for higher-cost regions. After exploring other options, we decided to try Calcurates. We previously used Zonos, but their shift in focus left smaller businesses like ours looking for alternatives. After speaking with Nik, we felt confident that Calcurates could handle our needs, and it has proven to be an invaluable tool in our operations. The app is flexible, reliable, and has made managing our shipping rules so much easier. It’s a great addition to our e-commerce toolbox, and we’re looking forward to leveraging its full capabilities as we grow. Highly recommended for anyone looking to streamline their shipping process!

There was a massive price increase and my previous review is therefore no longer valid. I am uninstalling Zonos.

Despite having cookies enabled, this app is no longer accessible for me on iOS, iPadOS or MacOS. Shame too, because it worked for a while. Removing it in search of something that I can access. Update: This worked for my mobile devices, but not for my macbook. Still changing my review from 2 to 5 for the excellent support.

I kind of feel like this app is hampered by some limitations that are placed on it by Shopify, and as a result, it was not for me, but the team was helpful. Using the option that automatically added a second item to the cart made my orders and shipstation invoices messy, which increased packing errors and confused customers (customers can add a kind of product option that adds a second item to the cart, but they can remove the second item from the cart and the primary product still shows the product option). Hard to explain, but you'll recognize it when you see it. They made some changes to my cart to clean up what customers were seeing, but I advise you not to have anyone modify any of your themes without backing up first. I had so many apps modifying my themes, that I ultimately just started over with a new theme. Is this app to blame? Partly. But mostly it's Shopify's own limitations.

The app does what I need, but the app has a very negative impact on page load score. My webpage speed became unacceptably low immediately after installing. I still haven't found a replacement, though, so my site continues to get horrible speed rankings (and, yes, even google's developer tools point to this app as the cause of the slow loading). Fix that and this is easily 5 stars.

Vitals is a tremendous value. I "only" use about 19 of the 40+ apps on our site, but they've had a major impact on our site. Everything matches our theme perfectly and, unlike many apps in this app store, they load extremely quickly, without slowing down load times. If I were to add a feature to the app, it would be an announcement bar option, or some other display option, to provide some clarity for the currency app for those of us using multiple currencies. In other words, when we display prices is $ AUD or $ CAD, shopify dictates how the currency shows up and it actually omits CAD or AUD and only shows the dollar sign. Since shopify controls this, some kind of popup or bar that says "prices displayed in Australian or Canadian dollars" would eliminate confusion, because we've had a lot of questions. Again, this is no fault of the app. It's how Shopify displays currency when a site uses multiple currencies and it's very, very confusing.

Allowing customers to upload photos of their setups in their reviews has been a game-changer. The app plays nice with our theme and when there was a minor tweak needed for our theme, the team at Stamped.io modified the css for us. It's wasn't a major issue at all, but Shopify calls products without variants "default title" and this was showing in the product name for the reviewed items. They updated the CSS for us very promptly. This review app is worth the price and it really does a good job of contacting customers and soliciting reviews. We saw a HUGE boost in the number of reviews posted once we deployed this app.
