ATAI ‑ AltText.ai AI Alt Text

So far, so good! Big time saver when you have more than a few new listings

We’ve been more than happy with the service! It has saved our team countless hours by eliminating the need to manually add ALT text to every image on our website. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking to save time while ensuring accurate, descriptive ALT text is added to their site.

Works well and leaves surprisingly accurate descriptions. This has saved me a lot of meticulous and time consuming work.

Was very easy to use and gave great results.

This app is very easy to use and worked great for updating my alt text. It saved me a lot of time, and the generated alt text matched my products really well. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast and reliable way to improve their product listings!

Works great and lots of price options.

This tool is a game changer, saved so much time and the alt text is infinitely more detailed than we would have come up with. 5 stars!

After the initial installation, we had some discrepancy issues between the "number of images without alt text" and the "number of images resolved." The final reports would always show a specific number of issues fixed each day, but those values never matched the number of actual issues found, or the number of issues actually resolved. This led us to be concerned about inflated credit usage. After giving it some time to process through all of our images, the daily reported issues seem to be much more accurate. Despite the initial headaches, I would still recommend this tool if you have a large cache of images you are trying to process.

Amazing program. I wish i knew about it earlier. Scrubs all the images you have and updates alt text almost instantly.

fantastic product would definitely recommend, does what it says it does, overall very pleased

Very simple to use and effective. Took seconds to set up and the alt text it created was what I was looking for.

The app is very easy to use and can be customized to your needs, integrates smoothly with Shopify, it's really great help. We have been using it in Croatian language, there were only few minor grammar mistakes, but other than that great!

Great

Good content if a little expensive

Huge time saver - for a task that nobody really wants to do, but is important for SEO. The descriptions in Standard are much more detailed than I had expected. About 5–10% of our images still need some touch-ups, but it’s nothing compared to doing it manually. Two minor downsides: Any remaining free credits from the trial period disappear as soon as you purchase a plan. The review request promises 100 credits in the subject line, but the email body only mentions 25. We'll see what I end up getting. -- Thanks for the 200 credits, very fast and excellent customer service!

Works well - we have a very large catalogue so we will need several months to work through it. Would recommend and love the feature where you can optimise alt text by products!

Stuck

Easy to use app. We will continue using and recommend.

Works really well. We have almost 40,000 images to update and so far the 1st 5k went really well. Could use a bit more customization to filter which ones to update, like for example by a certain tag, but the results have been really good. Will be using monthly.

We didn't want to spend loads of time filling in the alt text for images and shopify's AI solution wasn't working well, it was very basic and not accurate. We came across AltText.ai and it's honestly a game changer. We grab the month, sorted all our live products out in less than 10 minutes and the alt text is brilliant. It's made a 3-4 hour job (maybe longer) into a 10 minute process.

I was doing this manually and it was going to take me MONTHS with all the photos I have. This app did it in minutes! And honestly the text was accurate too. Highly recommend.

AltText.ai has been an absolute game changer for our store. It takes something that is normally tedious, time consuming, and easy to neglect and turns it into a fast, reliable, genuinely useful workflow. The alt text it generates is accurate, descriptive, and actually improves accessibility and SEO rather than feeling like generic filler. The app is incredibly easy to use, integrates smoothly with Shopify, and saves us hours of manual work across large product catalogues. It feels thoughtfully built for real ecommerce businesses, not just as a checkbox tool. On top of that, the team is responsive and clearly cares about making the product better. If you are serious about accessibility, search performance, and not burning time on repetitive tasks, this app is a no brainer. One of the best value Shopify apps we use and highly recommended.

Very good

We are absolutely thrilled with AltText.ai. Our primary reason for choosing this app was accessibility, and it has exceeded our expectations. In less than an hour, we went from well over 16,000 images missing alt text across three stores to just a few hundred actively processing. That alone is incredible. More importantly, the quality of the alt text is excellent. The descriptions are clear, accurate, and genuinely useful for screen readers, not generic or spammy. After reviewing a large sample of images, we’re confident this is a real accessibility improvement, not just a box-checking exercise. AltText.ai has saved our company an enormous amount of time, manual effort, and cost. What would have taken months for my team to do by hand was done quickly and efficiently by this tool. If accessibility matters to you — whether for compliance, inclusivity, or both — this app is a no-brainer. VERY highly recommended!

Good app, simple and effective. Does have a few bugs and inconsistencies. Also can get rather expensive if you have a large prod catalogue or image-heavy site that needs to be fully updated. Note - does not change meta titles.

I just bought 500 points, but only processed one photo. This terrible usage experience... The talent points helped me handle 25 photos. The developers please contact me as soon as possible to solve my problem.

Really simple to use, intuiative and the results do exactly what they say on the tin. I tried the free trial and then upgraded. Good value and efficient.

So its been a week and the support team still did nothing, I think this is the worst support I ever had from an app. Cant add ai text to blog and missing in content, said would fix it in 24 hours, 1 week later and multiple times of asking, still nothing. Will be Charging back payment through my Credit Card

Great piece of software. I love that you can just pay as you go, no subscription needed, and it did what it says to do. Used AI to write accurate descriptions of all my products and images.

This app does not work, it is not working for me

excellent app

Works very well and the automation settings are convenient.

Did not work well for me. The text it created was good, but no matter how many credits I had, it would not update all of the images in a full catalog update. I got probably 90% of the images updated with AltText but it could not finish the job even with enough credits to do so.

Its a wonderful App to get the very important Alt Txts in an easy and efficient manner. Also the AI generates texts which are so relevant to the image.

Fantastic product easy to use, saves lots of time and upon reviewing the ATAI does pull through unique elements for each product. Very impressive. Team Moggans.

Works great! Super happy with it.

fungerar. men supporten e dålig på att återkoppla på mejl

Very impressed so far. High quality alt tags created in the background. in 99% of cases the tages are at least as good as we would create and often better. If you are updating multiple sites however be careful that the description you enter in the Chat GPT directions is not specific to another site - Keep it generic and you will be fine. Would love to see the plugin move the CHat GPT override otion into the SHopify options to prevent that occurring.

It is a good app which helps with Alt text.

This is a great app to use with Shopify. Good descriptions and easy to use. It’s been a really useful tool and has helped with SEO optimisation. Thanks.

It was a mistake. There was also no review process. Once you hit start, it would just 'update' the image descriptions. My fault. Should not have blindly trusted comments I read on a reddit channel....

Top App, hat uns richtig viel Arbeit abgenommen bei den ALT-Texten. Kann man wirklich nur weiterempfehlen.

Love how simple it is to use and the Alt Text on my Shopify listings is so amazing!! One less thing for me to have to do which means I can use that time on something else for my business.

The app can be a little clunky if you want to use it mainly for landing page images, which are missing from the processing history as well... but the results are unmatched!

Super easy to use. Lifesaver when you have a ton of images and forgot to put in the Alt Text when they were uploaded. Also, very accurate in writing them.

Very easy to use and the generated texts are better than I could have ever written :D Alt texts for hundreds of images generated in matter of few minutes that would otherwise take me several days! I can only recommend!

I tried this app, and it failed every time. The translations were always incorrect. Customer service wasn’t helpful at all. I have no idea why some users give them five stars.

Denne fungerer supert. Enkelt oppsett og sparte meg for utallige timer med arbeid.

So fast and effective. Mind blown!

Does the job!

Fijne app om op grote schaal alt text toe te voegen aan afbeeldingen!

Works great! use 2 use!

A Huge Time Saver – Highly Recommend! AltText.ai was exactly what I needed! It helped me quickly find and fill in all the missing alt text on my Shopify store’s images—something that would have taken me hours to do manually. What used to be a tedious and time-consuming process became fast and effortless. The app is easy to use and incredibly helpful, especially for improving accessibility and SEO. I highly recommend it to any store owner looking to clean up their image alt text without the headache.

I was genuinely impressed with this app – it’s incredibly easy to use and delivers exactly what it promises. Within about an hour of signing up, I was able to update alt text for 1,500 greeting card and gift images for my rural gifting business, www.countrysidegreetings.co.uk. A task that would have taken me weeks was completed effortlessly. I reviewed several of the generated alt tags and found the descriptions to be highly accurate. I’m optimistic this will lead to improved store rankings in the coming weeks. The total cost was $55 – without question, the best value I’ve received from any app I’ve purchased. Thank you, Altext.ai! – CSP

Great App for easy and fast Alt-Text generation. The filter Function for the Bulk-Editor could be more divers.

Fantastic app that saved me hours and hours of work. The tags language is well-constructed and keeps the character count to the industry standard. Only took a few minutes to edit over 900 images. Hopefully better SEO/AIO results will follow!

Excellent program, easy to use and very good alt text is generated. I like how you can stay on the free plan and just buy credits as you need them , this is a very good feature. Highly recommended

Easy to set up, and the text it generates is surprisingly good. It makes bulk updates a breeze!

Volle 5 Sterne!

Great app, does exactly what it says on the tin.

The app is super easy to use and support is really on top of their stuff.

Great Product!

I can't believe the level of AltText applied by this app. The text is highly descriptive and elevates the functionality of our site. Well worth the cost.

Easy to use and the copy is ready to publish immediately.

One of those great apps that just works and does exactly what it says it's going to and does it well! The ai generated alt tag text is accurate and informative - processed just under 2000 images for us in about 20mins! I had a couple of questions for the support team when I was trialling it before subscribing and they were quick and knowledgeable. Recommend!

Easy to use. Straight forward pricing.

Bulk option from a product list does nothing. New/edited products are picked up but a lot of alt tags are not cleaned properly. Here are examples: ---- Sure! Here's a more optimized alt tag for Etsy search: "Colorful floral design poster with pink, orange, and yellow flowers on premium matte paper by Gelato. Sustainable 200 gsm vinyl lyrics art print. ---- To optimize the alt tag for Etsy search, it's important to incorporate relevant keywords and make it clear and descriptive. Here's a revised version: "Abstract Pastel Art Print with Vinyl Lyrics - Pink, Teal, Lavender on Matte Paper - Sustainable Decor Gift Idea. ---- There is potential, but for now uninstalled

Great tool. Significantly speeds up the tedious and boring job of creating alt texts for images.

Super helpful and easy to use

Easy to use and seems to be working well.

Easiest app to make your listing easier.

Best Alt Text service we have found so far! And we have tried a lot of them.

So far, I'm really enjoying the app! It's much more dynamic than some of the reviews I'd previously read about the performance.

So far so good!

Really impressed with this app, it's super easy to bulk update items (click bulk update then select this app to edit them) and the descriptions it comes up with are really helpful. Easy to edit if you need to make changes (color to colour, for example) and great to not be tied into a monthly subscription. I really appreciate the option to just buy credits. If you're like me, you will have read the negative reviews and but don't let them put you off, this app is doing a great job and I'm delighted to have found it. It's going to save me hours (if not days!) of work to bulk update them.

Wow, c'est vraiment génial comme application, cella vient de me sauver un temps fou. Merci

It works great and fast. It describes the image including all relevant details and it saves me a ton of time. Super easy to install and setup as well.

the app is generating great Alttext for images. One example: The Elegant Dual Pillar Travertine Dining Table by Travertable features a smooth oval surface and dual pillar base with vertical grooves, showcased against a plain white background. The design is minimal and elegant. Great details. thank you team

easy to install and configure. seems to do a pretty good job and saved me hours of time - so well worth it.

I'm pretty happy with the app. I like that it let's me specify the keywords I want a product to rank for and that it "reads" text on images -- this is the only app I've found that does both of those. I end up tweaking the alt-text on maybe one-third of the images, but two-thirds are good as is. And on the third that I tweak, the suggested text is a very good starting point and the edit process is simple and takes just one click to submit -- unlike some of the other apps.

Works great! pulls out relevant details of images into Alt text. integrates great with shopify.

Very easy to use and has done a great job of providing alt text for all our images!

It saved me a lot of time!

Great app! Easy to use.

Abit pricey especially as we have over 20k products but absolutely amazing app!

Great Little tool - literally 5 mins to do all my product image alt texts. Coming up with something unique for 200 different lumps of wood is a challenge ! Also reasonably priced and helpful support!

I can see the time savings, but a few things are wonky with the app. First, there is no way to adjust the "temperature" of the AI to tune the accuracy of the descriptions. I've had some wildly inaccurate descriptions on images and it requires me to proofread each one, which doesn't help me with saving time. Also, once I find a bad description, there is no easy way to edit it. I have to open up the product by clicking the link, locate the image, click the image, and rewrite the description before saving it. I would much prefer a quick way to tag descriptions that need to be rewritten and have the app redo it. Also, the bulk option to only edit products with a specific vendor name does not work. I put a vendor in there and it modified a bunch of different vendors.

So far so good.

As a Entrepreneur doing all the jobs, I had very little time to see if this platform would work. I would suggest extending the trial time. Hi! Yes, it is! What is the email address of your support team?

it doesnt work once you used the bulk editor. It only works on some of the products.

This app has been a lifesaver and by far the best addition to my team without burning my budget unnecessarily. It is smart and efficient and better than any freelancer or expert that I've ever hired. Thank you, thank you!

Great app really, better than the other ones that I tried
