Shop for Good Donation App

I wouldn't recommend this app to anyone.. Incredibly expensive if you want to access even the most basic features. Which is funny cause its a donation app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD

UPDATE: After a rocky start I am sincerely pleased to come back with good news. Apparently, my communications had gone to spam and that's why I never heard back. Once that was remedied, I can honestly say that Patty and the team have been INCREDIBLY responsive, helpful and patient with me on getting everything set up. I'm looking forward to giving back to my community and glad to know that I now have this team on my side to help in that effort! Thank you. Terrible. I have been trying since June to get this set up. Sent multiple emails and have heard NOTHING back. Try to do something good and support a cause/community and it's met with literally NOTHING. Total waste of time; don't bother.

In all honesty I’m a high maintenance customer, but the team at Daily Karma never lets me down. I ask for a lot and they deliver.

SECOND UPDATE: The devs reached out and things have resolved very positively. I really appreciate their desire to work with people who use their app. UPDATE FOR DEV REPLY: I'm not talking about the pricing change, I'm talking about the removal of free features and making them paid. You're forcing your customers to make a decision between upgrading and paying you, or continuing with the current free plan but unable to make changes to certain (now paid) features. This is not okay, and it's unethical. ORIGINAL REVIEW: While this app is great for automating donations and providing a lot of options when you're willing to pay the astronomical price of almost $300 per month, the free user is left with uncertainty and treated poorly. I've been a free user for over a year now (I don't make enough money in my shop to justify the monthly subscription) and it's been great. However, Shop For Good and DailyKarma willing remove previously free features and move them to paid tiers with little to no notice (sorry I don't consider an email newsletter that I can't seem to find as notice). A feature I had been using extensively the entire time (donations on specific products, because not everything in my store is meant for donations) was recently moved to the paid tier. While I am still able to use it as is, I'm unable to ever make any changes or add new products to it without needing to upgrade, and I find that to be quite disturbing on them to remove features from users and then force them to pay for it to return. It's shady business practices at best and greedy at worst. You're a social impact and donation app, not a massive profit machine. This has left me needing to find another way to gather donations because their paid tiers would destroy my overhead and bleed my shop dry. They've been slow in emails (taking a week at a time to respond) and unwilling to help me out here other than to suggest I pay. I'm so disappointed and saddened by this whole experience. (Note to anyone considering the free plan, read the fine print that wasn't there when I started, they take 10% of your donations to pay themselves. So that "free" tier is not actually free.)

Navigating legalities and organizations is no easy task as you want to ensure you're doing right with the right people. From a tech perspective, the application is super simple to integrate and the features are broad enough to help you maximize your social impact efforts no matter which track you choose. I've used this app in my corporate roles for several companies on Shopify as well as for my own little startup brand, and I have to say I am so impressed. The ease of setup and clear customer facing widgets are fantastic, and any rep I've ever spoken with was just super nice and incredibly helpful. My recently launched little brand is built on the idea of giving back 10%, and it was SO easy to do with this app and I feel so confident knowing it's all set up correctly and money is flowing to my chosen charities. It's so EASY to do good with this app!

This app is perfect for generating donations. Easy to use, easy to install and it gives you lots of great ways to request donations. On top of its great functionality, their customer service is fantastic. I definitely recommend!

We were looking for a way to do a fundraising campaign for the Ukraine-Russian war. I was really excited to see Shop for Good. Then I read the fine print. After a 7-day free trial, the MINIMUM price for this application is $270 a MONTH. As a small business owner just looking to do something good that price point is completely unreasonable. Personally, I think a company that is making that kind of profit from other companies that want to use their brands to build social awareness, raise money for good causes, and use their platform for good and charge $270 a month is despicable. Shame on you. It's not Shop for Good. You should have called your company Shop for Greed.

I love that this app gives me store the capability to do some good. It's easy to set up, and the newsletters are give good information about campaigns, charities, etc. They also have great support. I switched from one theme to another but the app got lost. I worked with Nat and was able to bring the campaign back on line quickly. If you're looking for ways to contribute, go with this app!

Daily Karma is over the top wonderful. I had been manually calculating how much to donate at the end of each month and it finally became too much. Their team not only told me how easy it was to automate the social-good aspect of my shop, but they told me about how they can help with co-venturing compliance (which I had never even thought about before). So this app completely pays for itself in saved time and other costs associated with donating. Now, to the team. They have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to onboard and help me get this added to my store. I thought I was being a pest asking for things that didn't yet exist in their app. They just went ahead and built stuff to fit my needs WITH EXCITEMENT. I can't say enough about how awesome it is to work with them. I haven't used many other apps on the Shopify App Store but they have set the bar high in terms of the developer-shop relationship.

This app is great for allowing our customers to round up their order towards a charity. We had a tiny issue regarding the snippet, but Nat was able to help us out and in a timely manner!

I like how the app is helping out those in need. It sets it up in a way so the user just has to click a few buttons and the donations start coming in with every purchase. Lot's of customizability and the staff is very helpful if you have any questions. Great app!

GREAT & EASY APP TO USE! We have really enjoyed using Shop for Good as it an instrumental part of our impact drive mission behind our company! Tons of Nonprofit organizations are already in their database and you can also set up other ones very quickly! Its super easy and the widget looks great on the website! We implemented Shop For Good on our cart page in March when COVID-19 first hit our region. Since then we have expanded the giving options to four different charities and have seen a large number of donations to all of them from customers when checking out. We match all of these donations 100% and the support team at Shop for Good has been great at helping us automate this monthly task. Highly recommended!

I've been using this app to help drive our cause marketing and overall business for the better part of a year now and just love how easy it is to plug and play. It doesn't require any customization, just seamlessly works across our site and handles the donation payments and receipts automatically, taking a lot of the legwork out of this kind of marketing. I also like the experience the features offer to our customers to see these campaigns and make it feel like a more personal interaction since it allows the customer to have some choice depending on the campaign type. We are a very mission driven for-profit company, so this app just fits our business model perfectly. Also - I've had 1:1 conversations with the app founder and she is wonderful to work with. We've used the Shop for Good app a few times now, and it's the greatest. What a cool thing to be able to connect and give to charities and causes you care about instantly from your website sales. It's easy to use, and the support at Daily Karma are absolutely fabulous. They are quick to respond, and always helpful. If you want to give to a charity that is not yet on their list, you can just let them know and they will do their best to add it for you. This app helped us with a campaign to give our customers the opportunity to give back to some suggested charities in the face of COVID-19 and bring our community together. This app was easy to install and easy to customize. We had about a 24-hour glitch (we had a custom API on our check out page and we didn't test it before launching - my fault!) but their team was ON IT and promised to do everything to get it fixed. And, they did. Their dashboard is easy to understand and Melaney is a joy to work with! She was incredibly helpful in connecting us with our charity. I look forward to a long-lasting partnership.

Shop for Good is hands down the best app out there to support your brand's cause marketing initiatives. The different features to donate, the ease of being able to switch charities to fit your marketing push, and most importantly the support from the DailyKarma make this a must have app!

AMAZING company! INCREDIBLY EASY out of the box app! Thru this app we have seen a 5% increase in conversion rate for new customers and a 8% conversion rate increase for repeat customers! We've also seen an uptick of 8% in AOV for any order fueled by this app and a 2% higher AOV across all orders site wide. The app itself is 'plug and play,' we were up and running within seconds making it the perfect tool for any brand that wants to easily include 'donate for discount' or 'round up for charity' options on their site. We love working with the team over at Daily Karma, Mel and Patty have been extremely helpful! They have championed our partnerships with incredible non profit & charity organizations that have resonated perfectly with our brand. I wanted to use this app for a specific charity we are involved with but it wasn't on their list. I emailed through the website on a Saturday and by Sunday the charity of my choice was added to the list. Right after I installed the app I had an issue with the widget on my website and they fixed it RIGHT AWAY. These guys are awesome and we'll do great things together.

Great App AND customer service! I just installed this app and it was super easy to do so. Several of the charities I wanted to support were not listed but adding them was unbelievably easy. Now we can support a few of our fantastic organizations in Hawaii that are doing amazing things for our ecosystem and I love that Shop for Good made that really easy and they actually show the charities, unlike some other apps, which I found odd/annoying so I got rid of those quickly. Also, I needed a couple modifications to the template (due to our Shopify theme) and their support was ON IT and they totally helped, rather than ignoring me or saying they couldn't support us. Love it!
