Warning to Shopify Users About Langify I want to share my experience so others don’t waste their time or money. Langify might look like a convenient translation app for Shopify, but in reality it caused nothing but problems for my store. When you switch to another language, the page automatically jumps back to the original language. The translations don’t stay applied, making the whole feature basically unusable. It fails to translate properly, even after setup and troubleshooting. They offer a very short free trial, which makes sense now — if people had more time to test it, they’d realise it doesn’t work as promised. In my experience, it simply didn’t deliver what it advertises. I’m sharing this so other Shopify store owners don’t waste their time or money on something that doesn’t function reliably. Thank you for your feedback. We would like to correct this review. You were in contact with our support team over a longer period of time. The issue concerned the use of machine translation and bulk translation, as well as the question of whether translation words that had already been used could be restored retrospectively. The language in question was deleted directly in Shopify by the shop operator, i.e. you. When a language is deleted, Shopify's system removes all associated translations. In this case, translation credits that have already been used cannot be recredited, as they have already been processed and billed by the translation service. This was explained transparently by our support team. A technical problem in which pages "revert to the original language" or translations are not saved was not reported as an error and does not correspond to how Langify works. Translations remain as long as the respective language is available in Shopify. Nevertheless, in this case, we have already credited additional words as a gesture of goodwill and are continuing to strive to find a good solution for all parties. Langify can be used permanently free of charge; costs only arise for optional features such as machine translation, bulk translation, or custom content. Our support team is always available to clearly explain such processes in advance.

Translated Policies with the app to German and French. For an app that praises it’s own legal accuracy, the mistakes are horrible. The justification that the app enables manual updating is not an argument. I speak several languages and am versed in international legal documents. This is not an app i will use, translations can’t be trusted. Btw, I had upgraded the basic option to the next level, thinking it might be increasing the professionalism.

The application is useless – it’s extremely slow. Translating several thousand products in multiple language versions is practically impossible with it.

I purchased the app and added three languages, but despite this, the automatic translation does not start. There is no visible button to initiate the translation, and even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, the issue persists. I have paid for the service, yet it is not functioning as expected. Very disappointed with this experience—it feels like a waste of money.

Scam already uninstall but still charging me

Doesn't translate everything on other apps that you have to use within shopify. Doesn't work with for example Judge.me review app or Pagefly. It translates part of the text and then skips an entire section for no reason. No matter what I do it doesn't work. The other thing is that they don't have a chat support. An app this big and pricy really should invest some of that cash in a chat support. I mean, even a small company like ours have a dedicated chat support.

Extremely slow, no integration with Pagefly and 'static section' is connected to 1 theme, so for development it's a nightmare. Support is friendly.

I don't understand why it has so many positive reviews. This app does absolutely nothing to help with workload and adds more workload. Features are added, upgrades are done and your entire previous work is all of a sudden gone which one then has to redo. If I could, I would use another app and avoid this one as this is a whole bunch of manual work and then repeat again the manual work as they delete information that one previously uploaded. And then magically disappears. Oh, and it is never the app's fault if something doesn't work properly based on common sense but always the user's fault. Instead of fixing issues the customer service team is telling you workarounds. Seriously? If your customer service needs to provide a work-around there is a fault and not a user error.

It's with deep sadness that I write this review having been a customer for many years. Please don't install this app until the developer fixes this one major issue. You can not filter archived or draft products. Instead, you have to pay for words you are not going to use costing you $10,000's in our case. Their non-existent timeline to fix this is infuriating and shows how little they care for their customers. AVOID THIS APP. "Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say this is not possible at the moment because a feature to filter products (and include/exclude them from the translations) according to their status is not currently available. Our developers are aware of this and they are already considering including this feature in a future update, but we don't have any approx release date for this at the moment."

literally destroyed my website and they are telling me that the people to blame is shopify, while the issue came directly afer installing their app i'm literally dreaming here

Attention: Do not install this app under any circumstances, it almost destroyed our entire store. The translations are not automatic.

I am very sorry but this app is a horror experience for us. We lost a lot of money, support is very slow, I told support how important it is. It took me almost a week now to translate everything with this app. Actually I should take money for the hours of work, you can't imagine how much work it was, the app has errors everywhere and texts are not translated. Since the translation was changed all at once, we had very high Google Ads costs. I despair with this app and really can only strongly advise everyone not to install this app. This app almost broke our entire Shopify store, I even ended up begging support to help us after all, nothing happened. If you wanted to save yourself a lot of stress and aggravation, please do not install this app. Go to the competition, really. For me this app was like a horror movie and I almost lost my mind.

I am sorry, but this really is the worst app on the shopify market. Incredibly slow, but the worst thing ist the auto translate functionality. The app has translated our native language. Perfect texts were turned into shit. We had to manually update all texts again. No option to revert auto translated texts.

Terrible customer support. The translations of our main market are down for 3 weeks due to a technical issue on Langify side. The customer service takes too long to respond to a critical topic that was even caused by an update on their side. We are losing business and they don't seem to even care about answering back after reporting the issue 4 times.

Very disappointing. Very slow and now we have been translating from Spanish to English for 3 hours and my Spanish website is half in English. It is really frustrating and time consuming when a paid application has to work without compromising the work already done. I do not recommend it at all.

horrible. tried it twice. glitchy both times. after customizing and saving settings, the customizations still didn't show properly. you also have to go in to each product and details to translate everything. don't recommend this. not sure where all of the high reviews came from.

Slowest App I have ever seen on the app store. Sometimes takes 10-15 min for the page to load. Can definitely not recommend this app.

Never again Langify! The worst translation app ever. Hands off! Many translations are simply not working, as the app is not capable to deal with customised shops/themes. Spent hours and hours on this app. Totally frustrating and not worth the money.

Very very slow response. Servers are very slow in responding. We are stuck in going live and the support team is not helping the way they should be knowing the criticality of the issue. I hope this comment will make them look into the matter and respond to us. We are loosing time by every passing minute.

Langify v2 Cons, found with my experience: - unable to manage pages from page builder, other than pagefly - impossible to translate the contents of the site (cart, account, etc.) - does not recognize all metafields - very complex and not very functional installation, always required technical support - language change menu stops working with each language change - performance dropped from 60 points to 49 points using this app (very little optimization)

After deleted the app, the languages selectors remains on my website pages and the previous app doesn't work anymore, really bad!

The Langify App started changing our Romanian original text on all Collections to English translation. We wrote Langify and to our surprise was being told they thing it is a bug in Shopify and that the Langify developer who can solve this is sick and we need to wait 6 days until he comes back to work. Today he wrote us he has no idea how to resolve this and passed this further to Shopify. We also have several sites connected to this site and because Langify didn’t properly look when creating collections it did messed up those websites too. Very disappointed ! Don't even want to think what could have happened if Langify would have translated more than just the Collections title . Would have probably put us out of business for few days. We asked them to unpublished the English translation and to do the testing somewhere else rather then our websites. Be careful when working with this App !!! Removed the App and asked for Refund.

Real bad support service. My store broke down after incorporating a translation via this app 3 days ago, 3 DAYS NOT SELLING BECAUSE OF THIS APP!! I have been unable to sell my most important products to my most important customers (german) and THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO SOLVE IT!! We have contacted them 3 days in a row, no solution given. DO NOT USE THIS APP, SUPPORT SERVICE IS A DISASTER. And it is not cheap at all. Use any other one, look for a better support service.

extremely buggy app, takes ages to load and doesn't register several strings that are clearly translated. Translations regularly jump back to old versions. our shop has lost 1000's of dollars in sales because of this app. 100% not recommended, steer away

I tried to uninstall it, as I don't need it right now but maybe later. Impossible to have it perfectly uninstall. Many files are bugging my website. SO BE CAREFUL BEFORE INSTALLING. Maybe langify can help me ?

I used this app to translate my English SHOPIFY store into German and Italian, and was hoping to do so for Spanish and French as well. As we are based in the EU functioning multi-linguality is a must! First of all, this app DOES NOT TRANSLATE anything. It offers a split mode for you to enter the externally translated text opposite of the original text. You also have to do all formatings again, unless you choose to import the originally formatted text and work directly in that. I like the split screen mode. And the developers offer okay support. HOWEVER, the biggest drawbacks are so severe that they are business threathening: 1) the search function in SHOPIFY does not take into account any other language version than the basic shop language (i.e. English in my case) - foreing language texts are NON-SEARCHABLE by customers!!! 2) Langify is not compatible with SEO Manager and does not offer any input possibility for SEO-information Basically this means: a) You have to translate text yourself or outsource that b) Langify offers a split-screen input form only c) Nobody will find your foreign langauge website on Google d) Site visitors won't be able to search the foreign language content --> This is useless for real life business! We are searching for a better option now...

Keep in mind they don't have a customer service over the phone, just by email so good luck if you have issue. They don't answer back right away by email so it can take a day to resolve a problem.

Pay $ 17 50 for an application that does not work. No thanks ! After 1 year of use, we got tired of it! We have changed ... I do not recommend at all!

Reading all these reviews, I’m not sure I've tried the same app as the other users. We lost an incredible amount of time trying to make it work. Sure, customer support is kind and fast to answer, but this didn’t change much for us. There might still be cases in which Langify could work for you though. But having tried both Weglot and Langify, the very few extra features of Langify really aren’t worth the pain. 1. Your data is not safe (for now?) - Every single liquid file of your theme will be changed by langify. This is the case because of the way the app works, but this will make your own changes on your theme extremely painful to make. “Deploying” langify on a theme was taking us literally 15 minutes every time. If you don't edit your theme properly in between, good luck to recover your data. - Have you read about translations import and export? We tried it, and you have to know that theme sections aren’t exported even though it’s nowhere in the documentation. Sections are an essential part of any modern shopify store, yet they can’t be exported from Langify. The files that are exported have clear implementation mistakes anyways, so it will most probably be useless or dangerous to use. Clearly wrong publicity here. - If you happen to have different store users on langify simultaneously, their work can be erased because there’s only one session for the whole store. So you can’t have two users translating in two different languages simultaneously, otherwise you risk losing everything (which we eventually did, with a language overwritten on another one, and the other one lost). 2. Translating on the langify website is a painful experience - The admin website is incredibly slow, especially if you try to do Theme translations - Some pages throw “Error 500”, making you lose your work on the way - We had to manually contact the support so they could add support to our theme section keys, which is based on a Shopify official theme - Many things like extra meta fields are absent from the panel For all these things, I'd have been happy to read the documentation and know about the app's limitations or gotchas, but when you need it, the documentation is way too superficial (just a bunch of screenshots), which obviously makes you have to contact the developer, who is then overwhelmed and can't fix the app. Why not spend a day just documenting everything properly? Maybe this would decrease the amount of daily support tickets. I don’t mind the absence of some features like automated translations. I mind that the features advertised don’t work properly. All these positive reviews have misled us, and I wish there had been a review warning me about the gotchas of this app before I lost my time. The dev promised some fixes, but still, the app shouldn’t advertise on features that are not ready, and clearly state what's not working properly yet when it's such vital parts of the app. Again, it might work out for you if you just want a very basic service, but in this case you're much better off with Weglot anyway. Note: Even though I'd might have given it maybe 2 or 3 stars, I'm leaving 1 star as a warning for all the things you should know before going with it. I'll be happy to change my review whenever the features listed on this page work properly and don't require the manual intervention of the staff, as any customer can expect.

I am very disappointed in the Langify app and I spent a lot of time trying to set it up to have it ultimately fail. This app DOES NOT translate language on your website. This app appears to simply be an exporter/importer of language, and you have to create your own translations. I don't understand why langify is so highly recommended or has such high reviews nor do I understand langify's ambiguous language/claims about their language service. I installed Panda after the Langify failure and not only is it 1/2 the price of langify, but within 60 seconds of download/installation - my site was translated into about 50 languages - so another app was able to do exactly what I wanted and needed - and it wasn't Langify.

The price keeps going up, but the performance is still very amateurish. To charge someone 17.50 for something that you have to do yourself (translating the pages) seems steep. The vendor states he is working on automatic translation, and after almost 1 year using this it has yet to happen. Not impressed.
