This is seriously the best app you can use if you do small-batch manufacturing. We have extensively tried other apps (Katana, Craftybase), this past year, and finally landed on Raw Materials Inventory app. I cannot be more impressed and satisfied with it . It integrates into the backend of our Shopify inventory seamlessly, and we love the feature of being able to do components, since we build sub-assemblies of things that can be used in various products. So great! The support from the coders of this app is AMAZING . Any question we ask or feature we request is responded to within a day, and if it is easy enough to implement, they do it! We feel like we have finally arrived on the ultimate app for tracking our COGS spend, as well as keeping track of our manufacturing and on-hand inventory. We it!

I've been using Materials Inventory for a little while now. We have a business with currently just 1 product that is a mix of raw materials, manufactured pieces from vendors and parts assembled in-house by us. This app has been perfect for our model. The other options I had seen for ERP were either too simplistic or completely over-kill for our scale or budgets. Materials Inventory comes in and fills that gap beautifully. It can be simple yet granular enough to satisfy our needs. It is useful, well integrated and well explained (there are many little hints throughout the UI to help you navigate the app). The app is easy to setup and, dare I say it, even "fun" for someone who likes properly setting up things. And to top it off, customer support has been exemplary. Tarek has been helpful, knowledgeable, understanding and responsive. If the features you need are provided by Materials Inventory, there's likely no need to look further. Great app that helps when purchasing materials that are running out, especially for many products/materials. I recommended an update in which the materials are also triggered per order instead of purchased product. Was implemented super quickly. The app worked out just great for us from the moment we started to use it. It seamlessly can handle creating products with BOMs and then creating PO's for those materials to each supplier. The support from the Materials Inventory team though is what keeps us using this app. We ran into an issue where we wanted to be able to attach signed Pack-lists for closing out our PO's and within 5 hours the team at Materials Inventory had the option available for us to use. Our store offers a variety of products, including those we produce ourselves and items sold by weight. Finding an inventory management software that meets all our needs has been a challenge. Previously, we used two different apps and still had to handle some inventory management manually. However, we have been testing the Materials App for the past nine months, and I have no complaints. I have cancelled my subscriptions to the other two software options, and now all my inventory is managed within the Materials App. Tarek provides excellent customer service. He is always open to suggestions and continually improves the app to be more user-friendly and to include useful report options. I would definitely recommend it. This is an absolutely crucial app to have if you are a maker or small manufacturer selling on Shopify. If you have many parts/materials you need to track for products you build, and if you sell those parts and materials directly to customers, you need this app in order to keep track of inventory regardless of where those parts get sold in one or more of your products. The features run much deeper than you will even first notice. Very clever reporting and low stock prediction. Many times I think of a feature I wish it had, only to discover it's already built in. My only complaint is I'd love to have the components feature, but I can't justify the $89/mo price. My store isn't big enough to justify the cost yet. I love everything about this app. I've been looking for an inventory management app that not only tracks my made products bit also tracks my raw materials and projects how much of each product I can make with those materials. This app does all of that and then some and its super simple to use with a simple interface, which is AMAZING compared to all the other inventory management software I have used so far (like odoo). It really is an amazing app, unfortunately the price is outrageous! I can't justify spending $30 a month for the unforseen future. If I continue to purchase this plan and keep my Shopify open long term, let's say the next 10 years, I will have invested $3600 in just inventory management. I wish it was more affordable and that they would offer it as a single time purchase. I would be happy to pay a few hundred dollars up front for the service but all of these subscriptions aren't economically feasible in the long run. For now, I will continue to use this app because it does have everything that I need, however, I will continue searching for a more affordable option.

We implemented this a few weeks ago. So far we're really happy. We have hundreds of products that are made up of parts, often shared, and this has been perfect for managing stock and selling quantities. None of the other systems we looked at did this simple and obvious task! Tarek has been very helpful in making sure everything worked for us and has even added functionality for us where required. This app is exactly what I have been looking for! Perfect to create and track inventory of products with several components and bundles. You can easily create a raw materials inventory and use these raw materials to make trackable products recipes. Every product or bundle sold on Shopify will automatically update raw materials inventory. The app comes with other very practical features as well. This makes my life so much easier! We're a long-term user, using the app to keep track of about 150 materials to about 30 different SKUs with tens of thousands of parts. We also use the app to manage our purchase orders. The overall experience is great, and it has saved us from making a custom solution. We have had some issues with accuracy, with the pages being slow and with some UI working less well than we wanted to. Tarek is very helpful and has even directly implemented new or custom changes for us, so the result is a very powerful app at a highly reasonable cost. Highly recommended! Materials Inventory has allowed us to remove several apps that we used as "workarounds" as a cost-effective inventory management and reports solution. The setup was easy with their spreadsheet templates provided for uploading bulk data. Once set up, everything was tracked, priced, and in order! Our supplier info is recorded and the ability to track raw materials/components that are used across multiple products is brilliant. The UX is basic, but this is a functional, cost-effective inventory solution for small-medium manufacturing businesses that exceeds my expectations! So very pleased we found this app. It does pretty much exactly what we want it to do. We are a tea merchant retailing and also blending a number of teas so managing bulk teas and selling by units of specific weight is impossible to do on Shopify without such an app. We found it very easy to set everything up. It's making our lives so much easier. We had a slight issue with the tracking of a particular item so contacted for help and Tarek replied within a minute! And fixed the issue within 20 minutes!! This app has been perfect for us. We sell loose-leaf teas and loose coffee and so having an inventory system that can keep track of one large number while we sell smaller bags from that amount is critical for our business. Tarek who helped us get set up is very patient and helped us work through the complexity of our inventory including blending teas accurately. Exactly what we needed. The functionality of this app is very straightforward, it's surprising that there aren't more apps out there that do this, or that it isn't native to Shopify. We use it to track the raw materials used to make our garments so that we can take preorders for multiple styles and maximize our sales without having to constantly watch sales and estimate inventory manually. It's also great for staying on top of reordering supplies and seeing their estimated reorder points. We haven't really scratched the surface of all the features of this app, and I'm excited to see how it performs with even more sales data. This is one of the best tech solutions we've found so far for our business, and the developers of this app are incredibly helpful and friendly. I have had all my questions answered right away, and they have helped come up with a solution for the few sticking points we came across. Very thankful for Materials inventory!! This app is amazing. I originally had an excel sheet like most. Most of my products have 10-20 different things to make the final product. Although the excel sheet did fine with keeping count, it wasted SO much time. On top of that, I am human and I make errors. Whether I miss something, miscalculated something, etc. I would find myself missing parts needed on multiple occasions. That is the reason I got this app. When someone purchases a product, it takes out the right amount of nuts, bolts, packaging, etc. for each product. It truly is a game changer when it comes to time management. It also informs you when you should buy more of said products. You can set all sorts of alarms to yell at you at any given time when you should do so. Absolutely worth the money. Thanks a lot for this amazing review. With multiple products consuming multiple raw materials, it was getting hard to keep track of my inventory manually. I knew of enterprise level inventory management tools but those are expensive. This app was the solution perfect for a small business like mine. I set it up so that every time I add products to inventory, it draws down the balance of the raw materials required to make that product. Then I get an email when my raw materials drop below a preset threshold. The customer service is great. I always think of new features when I'm using the product and click the chat button and make the suggestions. They always respond almost immediately to tell me the feature exists or say the will work on it. Amazing support and an amazin app getting better every day. Thank you so much! :))

This app has been a game changer! We now have control over our materials inventory and visibility on potential inventory for finished products. Material Inventory is a simple and powerful way for companies to manage their supplies, production, and inventory. Because of this app, our company buys the right amount of supplies at the right times, more effectively prioritizes our production, and helps us understand how much we are spending to make our final products. All this is neatly integrated with our shopify store. I tried a few different inventory management apps from big companies, but Materials Inventory was the easiest to implement and understand, and the email support is outstanding. Really great app - easy to set up and clean interface. I love feeling like I'm on top of my inventory (my shop has a mix of ready made products and products that are made to order using raw materials) and this app just makes it so much less stressful. We use this app to help manage material and product inventory for a growing cosmetics company. Highlight for me is the simplicity of its stock management formula. This app is amazing for businesses that deal in both bulk and small sizes; for manufactures and resellers. It's user friendly, self-explanatory, and just gets in and does its work. What makes it awesome, though, is the help centre. No problem is too big or too small for the help service to solve, and they have answered my (very many) questions really quickly. This app is setting out to change my life. I always worry about overselling because I have so many raw materials that are shared between items I sell. This app prevents that problem, which means I get to make more money and provide a better order fulfillment experience. It is easy to set up and gives me the peace of mind I need to sell at my full potential! Customer service was quick to answer questions, and I have already received an email since starting using it letting me know about updates and new features.

The app does exactly what it needs to and the customer service is AMAZING. I've emailed several times with feature requests that they have implemented immediately and I always get a quick response. If you are a made to order model business this is the best possible app for your production. The Raw materials functionally is incredible. You are able to categorize the raw materials so you can segment different tasks for your production team to work with. The support is unmatched as well! This app is consistently implementing new features to improve. They go above and beyond to meet your needs. We highly recommend this app if you are doing volume in orders and need to keep track of every little detail!

My Materials was a game changer for my inventory. It gives me the flexibility that I couldn't get with Shopify's cookie cutter, one size fits all template. Takes a while to set everything up the way you need it but once you're set everything is GO!

Hi there, i just install the app at shopify and I have a question. I ready FAQ but I didn't find any email to contact for support, so I will place my question here. If I have 80 product in shopify inventory of a product A. This product needs raw material B and C to be made. I add these raw materials, B for example 40 items and C material 60 items. When I will press sync, shopify will have a total to 40 pieces of product A, or will have 80+40 = 120 pieces? Thank you in advance and keep the good job

My Materials has seriously revolutionized the way we manage inventory in our business. With a make-to-order production workflow, handling raw materials and keeping accurate inventory counts in Shopify was extremely challenging. My Materials resolved all our problems and truly feels like it was tailor-built for our business. Now, our purchasing, manufacturing, and sales processes are completely in sync, from the point of ordering supplies all the way through the front-end of our website. · Keeps track of raw materials that are used in varying amounts on different products. · You can set up email warnings when stock runs low. · Excellent customer service. · You can see at a glance the value of the raw materials you are holding. · I was very relieved to find this app as Shopify’s inventory support isn’t advanced enough for what I need. ReadyPantry allows me to keep track of fabric lines even though I use the same fabric in varying different amounts on different products. It takes account of all product sales using a particular product and you can setup an email warning for when that material is low. Takes the guesswork and/or the pain of regular stocktaking away. If you are already running a business and have lots of products & raw materials there is a bulk upload option using a spreadsheet. Personal tip – if you’re using a mac don’t bother using the ‘Numbers’ app for the upload – it’s just not functional enough – GoogleDocs is far better and much closer in functionality to Excel. Customer service is excellent – they respond quickly, are extremely helpful and take suggestions on board. I've only been using it a week and already a number of my asks have been added.
