NIGHTMARE - Major spam and spoof issues caused by Omnisend UPDATE 9/23/26: We've been unsuccessful in getting any meaningful assistance from omnisend. The reply here, for the world to see, does not resolve any of the issues we continued to experience. Live chat does not reply with resolutions. There is no phone support. No way to get our email address removed from their system. We are being held hostage by omnisend while they fail to help. ORIGINAL POST 9/22/26: The SPF record you are required to enter for omnisend causes major spam or spoof emails. Google had us remove their SPF record, which resolved the spam issue. Unbeknownst to us this caused omnisend to stop sending our flows for 60 days. No notification from omnisend, but they sure kept billing us. Suport regarding this issue with Josh Hargett was so frustrating we have decided to move away from omnisend entirely.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re sorry this situation has been so frustrating, particularly with the volume of messages reaching your inbox and the disruption to your automations. We also regret that your initial support experience didn’t make an already difficult situation easier to navigate. Given the seriousness of your concerns, our Deliverability team reviewed the case in detail. The messages reviewed were bounce notifications resulting from your email address being spoofed as the sender of messages sent elsewhere. In this type of spoofing, someone external can forge a domain in the “From” field without needing access to the mailbox, website, or Omnisend account. When those messages cannot be delivered, failure notices can be returned to the address they falsely claimed to originate from. An SPF record does not generate spam, provide access to a mailbox, or enable someone to send through an Omnisend account. It tells receiving mail servers which services are authorized to send email on behalf of a domain. We do understand why the timing made the issue appear directly connected to the SPF change. With the previous, stricter configuration, unauthorized messages could be rejected earlier in the delivery process, before a bounce notice was generated. Changing the configuration affected how some receiving servers handled those messages, which could make the existing spoofing activity visible through bounce notifications. To help address the underlying issue, our team has recommended strengthening DMARC enforcement, which is designed to help receiving servers handle messages that falsely claim to come from your domain. We’ve also requested the original email files with their full routing information so our Deliverability team can investigate the source further and provide the most appropriate guidance. We also recognize your concerns about your automations stopping after Omnisend was no longer included in your domain authentication, as well as the communication, billing, and support experience surrounding that period. These account-specific concerns are being reviewed directly with you to ensure they receive the proper attention. We appreciate the time you’ve spent raising these concerns, and we want you to know that your experience matters to us. While our investigation indicates that Omnisend did not cause the underlying spoofing activity, we understand why the timing and volume of these notifications led you to connect the two. We remain committed to supporting you, addressing the concerns you’ve raised, and ensuring you receive the level of attention and assistance you expect from our team.

The reviews are sad and true. This app deleted years of work and cost us an unknown amount of revenue, time and potential issues which make take months to completely restore - if ever. Never let an app put you in this position.

App works OK. Interface is cumbersome for customers and they are forced to view elements during the return that we have disabled in admin. Make it confusing and misleading. Support was good when they replied, but had to reach out twice to get one question answered. We uninstalled and continue to look for a better option.

Hi - thanks for trying our app for a few days, we're sorry the UI customization you were looking for wasn't readily available and was going to take us until the next dev cycle to get out. Keep us in mind for your future needs.

UPDATE 6/9/25 We have not had a reply from support in a week. The ongoing issues have not been resolved and support has gone radio silent. Only thing worse than app issues is unresponsive and unhelpful support. App used to be great with great support. Has really gone down hill recently. They make changes without notification which impact the customer experience. Live chat does not function properly, which slows our ability to get resolutions. We are on the hunt for a replacement.

Was excited about the app but it has limited features with regards to accepting/rejecting returns of certain items/orders. No option to approve/reject a return based on a tag associated with an order or with a product. We use Shopify to tag orders and products for a variety of reasons. Some of these tags make an order ineligible for return. This app will not accommodate those tags.

Very versatile app worth every penny. Support couldn't be more accommodating and knowledgeable (the one time we needed help). The rest of the time the app is set it and forget it.

Current Issue: If you are a potential customer and have made it to this page, check the F rating on the BBB website. It is absolutely accurate in our experience. Completely unethical and untrustworthy company. First, the telephone number they list on our credit card statement is disconnected. We found this out when then charged our corporate card one month after sending notification in writing that we no longer authorize them to use the previously provided payment information. Sent an email requesting an immediate reversal to this charge. 24 hours later not even a reply. Original Issue: On our fourth bill we had a charge for "Minimum Spend True-Up". The charge was for $168.09. We inquired multiple times via email before finally getting a reply. We were informed this was for a monthly minimum spend, something that was never discussed with us prior to this invoice. In trying to get this issue resolved we were also informed that there are minimums with regards to the number of campaigns you must send in order to qualify for their ROI guarantee. Another detail that was never discussed prior to contracting or during on-boarding. When asking to cancel their reply was as follows: "While I can see that the minimum spend wasn't noted in that recap email from Mike, it is noted in your signed Service Agreement (attached here) which supersedes any email communication." This decidedly unethical company has chosen to ignore communications issues on their behalf and instead want to stick it to us for policies and requirements that their sales and on-boarding staff either forgot or chose not to mention. We could never trust emotive moving forward. P.S. The sales person (Michael Cruz) was CC'd on each email regarding this issue and never one replied to a single one. Appears as if this was to avoid taking responsibility for skipping over some of these requirements before taking our credit card information...On our fourth bill we had a charge for "Minimum Spend True-Up". I was unable to get adequate ad designs from the design team. After a period of weeks we decided not to continue with AdRoll. They made it a nightmare to get our data removed from their system. Think very carefully before allowing AdRoll to integrate with your store.

Developer reply ·

Hello there, This is Ewa from AdRoll's Customer Support Team, Firstly, I wanted to thank you for your honest assessment of your experience with AdRoll. I am very sorry to hear we haven’t met your expectations. I see that your account with AdRoll is now closed - I'm very sorry to see that. If you have time, I’d love to follow up with you to understand the improvements needed to earn your recommendation. Currently, our supervisors are looking deeper into your request with regards to removing the personal data - I'll make sure you'll get an update as soon as possible. Feel free to reply to the emails send if you’re open to discussing more. Cheers, Ewa

Glitch in app that can cause wildly inflated bill. Reported the issue to mailchimp who said there is no way to prevent shopify from unarchiving currently archived contacts. For us that meant a one day spike in the number of our active customers. That meant a bill that went from just over $100 a month to over $800 for a month. Watch out for this glitch or you may be overcharged yourselves.

Developer reply ·

Hey there. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue caused, and we can confirm that this is now fixed. We'd love to get this over to our Support team and credit your account. Get in contact with Mailchimp Support here: http://eepurl.com/icXljT

Support is terrible. Asked one question which took 5 days to get a reply. Asked a follow up question and 8 days later, no reply. Burned up my entire trial period waiting to get information but cannot make a determination about whether this app meets our needs with such poor support.

App may be good for shops with few products, however is impossible for shops with many products. Reached out to support about bulk import of related products. Was replied to with short/incomplete answers which resulted in a lengthy and unnecessary back and forth. At the end, after finally getting the whole picture, their "bulk" solution required the one by one gathering of product ID's from admin. Far from a bulk solution. Terrible support.

Judy with Samped.io couldn't be better to deal with. We needed special assistance to resolve an issue related to old reviews displaying for new products. She was knowledgeable, professional and responsive, and most of all patient while we worked through the challenges and found a resolution. I would recommend this company to any business looking to improve their review workflow.

I am rating this a 1 star pending a reply to my emails from the app developer. Have sent two emails over the past 6 days and not a single reply. The banner at the top of my app keeps begging for feedback, so here it is. When can someone assist me and reply to my emails?

Support team made unauthorized changes to our bulk pricing settings. Unable to correct their changes and support has gone radio silent. Super costly experience made worse when support chose to ignore the issue rather than address it.

Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. The root cause was identified to be a synchronisation issue between Vitals and Shopify, due to the very large number of products in your store. We've completely rebuilt the synchronization bridge back in 2019.

App worked well and looked better than most. Sadly you have to add products one by one. If you have many products (we have 4,000) this is just not realistic, especially if you have to make multiple discounts. Great app for sellers with just a few products.

Developer reply ·

Thanks for your review! We understand your frustration about that point and want to add such feature in our next updates to make our customers happy. Please let us know if you have any questions or issues. We're glad to help you anytime!

App didn't function at all. Contacted support who couldn't see we had the app installed. Several back and forth's, not a single step taken to address the issue and we decided to continue our search for an app that provides more help than frustration.

Developer reply ·

Hi there! It looks like your ticket was mis-categorized under our other app. Our support staff did actually try to address your issue, but you unfortunately refused to provide a customer account that we could test with. Hope things work out better with your next wholesale app.

App has a glitch which causes the cart no to function properly. Another glitch causes the app to install in backup versions of your theme. This caused a myriad of issues and an expensive process for diagnosing. Support was friendly, but seemed to either not completely understand the issue or lacked understanding on how this affected us with regards to time/money. They offered a discount, but other issues with the app means even a discount doesn't make the app worthwhile. For example, you have to create upsell widgets one by one by one. This may be sufficient for a site with only a few products. If you have the number of products we have (4000), its just not realistic to consider an app that requires us to do anything one product at a time. We'll swallow the cost of our developers 5 hours of diagnostics and move on.

NOT A MAILCHIMP REPLACEMENT. Price for email service more expensive than mailchimp. Complicated integrations with no phone support available. Email reply from support 2 days after submission. Of course you can talk with sales at nauseam. Attempted to cancel within the first hours of signing up and was told no refund possible. Make sure to do your homework before aligning your business email needs with Privy.
