Country Blocker Fraud Securify

Our store is multi-language and the block message was only showing in English. Support helped me set up language-specific block messages — French for blocked French-speaking countries, Spanish for Latin America, and so on. Small detail that makes the block experience feel considered rather than lazy.

Worried that blocking countries would hurt our SEO because Google crawls from various locations. Support confirmed that search engine crawlers are whitelisted by default and showed me where to verify the whitelist. Our search rankings haven't changed since enabling blocking, which was my main concern.

Securify was conflicting with our Shopify password protection page. Support investigated and found the load order was causing blocked visitors to see the password page instead of the block message. They adjusted the script priority and now blocked visitors see the correct block page. Technical issue that I never would have figured out myself.

Requested email alerts for traffic spikes from blocked countries. Support configured the threshold alerts — I get an email whenever blocked attempts from a single country exceed 50 in an hour. Caught an attempted bot attack from a region we'd blocked within the first week. The early warning is genuinely useful.

We launched in Australia and needed to remove it from the block list while keeping historical data for comparison. Support showed me how to archive a rule instead of deleting it — the block stops but the historical traffic data stays accessible. Exactly the approach I wanted but didn't know how to ask for.

Created a redirect for blocked countries but it was causing an infinite loop because the landing page was on the same domain. Support diagnosed the loop in about two minutes, helped me exclude the landing page URL from the blocking rules, and the redirect started working properly. Quick turnaround on what felt like a complex issue.

Needed to redirect EU visitors to a subdomain instead of blocking them. Support configured the redirect rules for the specific countries and tested each one with me to confirm they landed on the right version. All 27 EU countries redirect correctly, and non-EU visitors see the main store. Exactly the compliance setup we needed.

Our fraud team wanted the blocked visitor log exported to CSV for their own analysis tools. Support pointed me to the data export feature and helped me set up a weekly automatic export to email. Now the fraud team gets their data every Monday morning without me having to do anything. The automation aspect was a nice bonus.

Great app and quick support

Installed app and had a few initial questions via the chat function - answered very clearly and quickly, very helpful with support and guidance.

A competitor was lifting our product descriptions word for word. Beyond right-click protection, support explained the bot detection layer that blocks automated scraping tools. They were clear it can't stop manual copying but it handles the automated stuff. The competitor's listings switched to generic descriptions within a week, which tells me the scraping was automated.

Needed to temporarily unblock Japan for a popup shop event. Support told me about the scheduled rules feature where I could set start and end dates for any block. Set it up, the block lifted on the exact day, and automatically restored two weeks later. Never had to think about it again. That feature alone saves ongoing admin work.

Instead of blocking visitors from countries we're considering expanding to, I wanted to survey them. Support helped me set up conditional redirects to a Google Form for five specific countries. Now we're collecting market research from the exact people we'd eventually sell to. Creative use of the redirect feature I wouldn't have considered.

They suggested watermarking as a second layer, which I hadn't considered. The protection still catches 95% of the image theft attempts we were seeing.

Mobile site seemed slower than desktop after enabling protection. Support investigated and found the mobile protection script was loading an unnecessary font file. They removed it from our configuration and mobile performance improved. The kind of detail that shows they actually tested on mobile, not just desktop.

Migrating from another geo-blocking app and needed to replicate rules. Support helped me export my old app's settings and imported them into Securify through a CSV upload. All 47 country rules transferred correctly. The migration took about ten minutes instead of the hour I'd budgeted.

We only Sell domestically so I needed to block everything except three countries. I was dreading adding 190+ countries one by one, but Support pointed me to the bulk rule builder. Selected all, then unchecked the three I needed, and saved. Done in under a minute. Wouldn't have found that option on my own it's in a dropdown I didn't think to click.

Set it up in five minutes, and within two weeks the suspicious orders from VPN addresses stopped completely. The feature was already there — I just needed someone to show me where.

I messaged support about sessions from Brazil still showing up in Shopify analytics after I'd blocked the country. We started getting checkout attempts from email domains we'd seen flagged in fraud reports. The checkout fraud blocking by email let me add a wildcard rule that stopped those attempts cold.
