The new Shopify integrations have been a nightmare for some accounts (USA in this instance) - refusing to connect back to the right Merchant Centre. Also having to use the same logins for Shopify and Google accounts has also caused legacy issues and extra admin with emails not matching. When it works it is good and a great improvement on GTM - but when it doesn't, the troubleshooting help from support is not useful. I need someone to be able to go into the account and help connect and fix. I can't tell you how many unbillable hours we have spent on this over the past year.
The app is easy to use, but it ended up costing us significant advertising performance. Our Google Merchant Center feed repeatedly broke and was automatically repopulated. Then, around June 2026, the app migrated our product IDs from the localized `shopify_US_` format to the new `shopify_ZZ_` format. Since Google Ads treats different product IDs as entirely new products, this effectively reset years of product-level performance history and Smart Bidding signals. Google Ads Support confirmed that there is no automatic mapping between the old and new product IDs, so historical bidding signals and product-level performance cannot be transferred after the IDs change. They also advised ensuring country markets and shipping settings were correctly configured, as this should allow localized IDs (such as `shopify_US_`) to be generated. We verified our market configuration and followed their recommendations, but the app continued generating only `shopify_ZZ_` IDs, with no option to manually restore the original format. For merchants relying on Performance Max or Shopping campaigns, this is a serious issue because stable product IDs are critical for maintaining optimization history. The app itself is straightforward to use, but this change cost us considerable time, advertising budget, and campaign performance, with no practical way to recover the historical product IDs.
ITS ANNOYING THAT I HAVE SO Many errors and have to edit each one at a time.
I can only rate 2 stars so far. I just started using populated store but no sales have happened so not sure of the advantage yet or if there will be one.
The app is fine if you only run an online store. But the moment you try using Local Inventory Listings, it becomes a complete rabbit hole. On the Shopify side everything appears fine, mostly because there is barely any control or visibility into what is actually happening behind the scenes. Meanwhile Google Merchant Center keeps complaining that there is no local inventory feed configured, even though the Google & YouTube app gives the impression that local inventory is supported. Eventually Merchant Center starts threatening suspension warnings. Then starts the endless cycle with Google support. Most support agents do not seem to understand how the Shopify Google & YouTube app actually works with Merchant Center. Replies are mostly copied templates, and every response takes days. After 2 weeks you usually get an answer that does not solve anything, and then you start the whole process again from scratch. What makes it worse is that almost every app that actually handles local inventory feeds properly is paid. It is honestly disappointing that Google created an official Shopify app for navigating their already confusing Merchant Center ecosystem, but only implemented half the functionality needed for physical retail stores.
Other Merchants should know Google will suspend you for misrepresentation and don't have to give a full explanation of this blanket reason. I have bent over backwards to accommodate Google to no avail. They continue to suspend me for something that I don't even know what it's for because I haven't in any way shape or form done the things that are in the explanation of this charge. They are unfair and are crippling American entrepreneurship with something that is supposed to weed out scammers, fraud and terrorism. It has disappointed me severely because I used to believe in Google and their company.
The Google & YouTube app for Shopify works well for basic setup, but there is a major limitation with enhanced conversions and Google Ads tracking. The conversion value sent to Google Ads includes only the product subtotal and does not include shipping and tax. Because of this, the actual order value is underreported, which results in a lower ROAS in Google Ads, especially for stores with higher shipping or tax amounts. There is currently no clear option in the app to switch conversion value from subtotal to total order value. This creates confusion for advertisers who rely on accurate revenue tracking and ROAS optimization. The app is good for beginners, but advanced advertisers will need GA4 or GTM workarounds to track the real total purchase value. It would be great if Google adds an option to include shipping + tax in conversion value or clearly documents this limitation inside the app.
Great idea, but the local feed partnership files doesn't clear old products, and also if you clear it, never rebuilds with exisitng products. No way to trigger a full sync etc.
App used to work well until Google changed all their reporting. Even had a call set up with Google (their support is from India) and everything went to shit. had hire a marketing agency to fix the shit from Google.
Hi, We are getting error while integrating Google anlytics GA4 property with Shopify. The admin access of the Google ads, Google Analytics is with same email id.
App was easy enough to set up - but once completed the 'customer events' app pixel still says 'disconnected' when every part of the app set up has been complete and they all say 'connected' because of this we went 12 hours with no data running from our store to Google ads/analytics etc. No explanation or help on how to get the app pixel to 'connect'
Yes, it's easy to install. BUT it doesnt report the transactions correctly, have noticed duplicate transactions on many occasions. I've disabled the app and using another app to better manage analytics..
This would be better if it integrated the Google merchant reviews after purchase. You want people to have authentic reviews and have a system for it but you don't integrate it with the biggest platform.

Hi, this is a great callout. We will pass this request onto our product team and see how we can build that feature out! In the meantime, we hope the rest of the app is to your liking.
I have added the Google and YouTube app to my sales channel, and It is connected to my Google Ads account. It is tracking conversions for page view, search and begin checkout. However, it is not tracking conversions for purchases and adding payment information. The status also shows 'disconnected' for the customer events app pixels.
Developer reply ·
Hi - the Customer Pixel being disconnected is expected. This is a new feature rolling out in the next few months, by which time this will switch to "Connected" automatically for you. In the meantime, we are still tracking conversion events via tagging. If you are having issues with seeing all events come through and you use the app to set tags for you, we know there's a current issue with the new Shopify Thank You Page catching all the events. If you revert back to the previous version for now, this should fix your issue.
You can't submit to more than 1 country which makes this app ineligible for a Canadian Store selling into the U.S market in addition to Canada. Kind of disappointing. Will have to use an alternative until this feature comes out.
Developer reply ·
Hi there and thanks for the feedback! While we ask for an initial country during onboarding, you are able to add additional countries once you link your shop to a Merchant Center ID by adding Target Countries in your Merchant Center Product feed. Additionally, we are making improvements to do this automatically in the near future, so stay tuned! If you have further questions on how to do this, please contact our support team: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app
Definitely not happy. Google uses WAY TOO MANY automated admins where they don't actually check your products. We have face oil that is organic and all natural yet they continually reject it as a medical product. We make no claims or have any medicinal ingredients in it. Also our tooth powder and many other things like our 2 & 3 packs of natural deodorant. They approve the 1 deodorant option but not multiples??? Huh? So unprofessional. Get real PEOPLE working on these issues! And they also won't take down fraudulent reviews from people that have never used our products. These are disgruntled humans that had a back and forth conversation with us and they didn't like our response. That's life, get over it. Sometimes people are not going to agree with you! But they put up a 1 star google review because they are babies. Reviews are for the PRODUCTS or SERVICES which an argument from some person online is NOT service. Service only comes into play if they are a buying customer. These fraudulent reviews should NOT be allowed!! Disgraceful.

Hello there and thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry your experience so far has not met your expectations. We do our best to enforce policy in order to protect merchants and consumers. Sometimes overflagging does occur and in that case it is possible to request a review if you disagree. At last check, it looks like all your ads are serving so hopefully that is the resolution you were looking for. If you feel an inappropriate review has been left on your Google Business Profile, please follow these directions to request a review: https://support.google.com/business/answer/4596773
Doesn't work properly with GA4 on our store. Tracks about 30% fewer conversions than the actual amount of conversions reported in Shopify Analytics. I am recommended by a Google employee to not use this implementation but instead hardcode the tracking into the checkout.liquid.

It says that products are not approved, yet when I click on it to see what products, the list is empty. I get little to no traffic from google.

First, the app may well be the best of its kind. That said, I believe they ripped me off for $220.00. Their instructions are unclear regarding a 2nd store. I opened my store and then wanted to do a 2nd one. The app seems to indicate that is possible within one account. So I purchased a theme for $220 and started to build the 2nd store, only to find out that doing so within the same account is not permitted and that I'd have to open a 2nd account to have a 2nd store. I did so, with the indication from Shopify Support that I would be able to TRANSFER my paid theme to the new store. Only after having deleted the paid theme from the first store was I informed I would have to purchase the theme again for the 2nd store but would NOT receive a refund for the now deleted theme in the first store. The effect was that I've paid 2x for a theme and Shopify support DELIBERATELY MISLED me about my ability to get a refund. I have the support transcript to prove it. I now feel stolen from and stuck. BUYER BEWARE.

It's not an easy task to accomplish. I have crossed all of my T's, dotted my i's and my account was suspended, when priorly my account was up and running along with getting sales through this channel. There isn't any explanation of what violations have been committed so I do not know where to begin on how to fix them. Either way, i do not understand how my store could be fine and accepted for nearly a year and then suddenly, it's not up to standards. It would be great if there was customer support to help.

I would stick with the implementation of GA4 via Google Tag manager. The App does not capture all sales. Reported revenues are down 20% versus my previous GA4 implementation via tag manager. Pretty shotty ap.

Very bad app, the only thing that caused me was that my Google Shopping account were disapproved. Through this app you can't even install Google Ads tracking. I don't recommend it.

Thank you for the review. For now you will want to edit variant color and sizes in the Shopify product page. The manage products screen is really lacking. I need to add values for MPNs, Google Product Category, etc and there's no way to filter out products. I am stuck trying to scroll through thousands of products (which load very slowly) to get to the couple hundred I need to edit.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for the review. We have noted your feedback around the bulk editor. That portion is actually owned by Shopify but we will be sure to pass on the feedback to the relevant product teams. Worked fine but now it doesn't track conversions and says my tag isn't connected when I've made no changes on the app. I've disconnected and reconnected, and it still doesn't tracking any conversions.

The Apps works well when you have only a few hundred products. When you have thousands of products the App is useless. The "Manage Products" link only loads 50 products by default. You have to scroll down to see the rest. As you do the page loading time gets exponentially longer. It has taken me over 2 hours to reach the end of my product list only to find that when I try to edit and save, the process hangs... often with "Server Error" message in a pop-up window. It is not a browser issue as I have tried several with the same result. Please fix to download complete product list when selecting "Manage Products".

If you want any success with your store, you need to have it appear in Google, but with this app it is almost impossible. Between the strict standards on Google Merchant Center and the way Shopify does NOT intuitively help you set up your products and store to meet those strict standards, your store will likely never be approved for use on Google. I have had to spend hundreds of hours researching ways to make it work on my own, and even though my store appears to meet all of Google's requirements, I am still not approved. I feel Shopify should work more closely with Google to create an app that is more likely to get their shop approved, as this will ultimately benefit Shopify. I plan to continue my own research to try to get my shop working with Google Merchant Center, but I shouldn't have to. When you reach out to either Shopify or Google, all you get are canned responses with regurgitated policy references and no actual help.
Developer reply ·
Hi there and thank you for the thoughtful feedback. We are sorry that your onboarding to Google Merchant Center via the app has not been a smooth process for you - certainly not what we had hoped for. As part of the onboarding process each merchant undergoes a review to ensure they conform with policies. This is to protect consumers and merchants alike. Fortunately, we do have a re-review process if you think your account was overflagged. You can read about it here: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/13447091?hl=en&ref_topic=13402337&sjid=15119101867569295281-NA I believe you already have engaged with our support team who are helping with your re-review. However, if you want additional assistance with this, you're always welcome to reach out to our support team here: https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app I hope this helps and again, thank you for the review.
Continually asks to confirm contact page on site, which we have done repeatedly. It shows completed for a couple hours then goes right back to needing verification, again. We have multiple points of contact on our site. Also, will not let us enter Merchant Data...the only option is to create a new account.

Es ist nicht möglich ein bestehendes Merchant Konto zu verbinden. Lediglich wenn man über die App ein neues Merchant Konto erstellt funktioniert es. Vom Support keine Antwort erhalten.

Hi -- Thank you for your feedback. You should be able to connect an existing Merchant Center Account as long as you have admin access to that Merchant Center account and it is the same google user account you are using on step 1 of this app. I've reached out to you privately over email to try to help you resolve this issue.
This app doesn't let you push the required Variants info to the merchant center. - The app appends the Product name + Variants options in the title attribute for content API by default - The "color" field is disabled in the Bulk edit page for variants. - "Custom labels" are disabled in the Buld edit page for variants. - ***missing Feed attributes*** on the Content API prevent you from fixing the issues aftermath using Feed Rules. I would love to see google to atleast offer all the required listing fields to shopify users.

Great, when it worked. This app does not properly read our tax settings and constantly defaults every state to taxable, with shipping set to not taxable. We have tax nexus in roughly half the US states; half of these still charge tax on shipping. This default behavior of resetting the tax settings despite what I have manually configured in Merchant Center has caused our google merchant account to be suspended, and I'm stuck in a neverending loop of shopify pointing their fingers at Google, and Google pointing at Shopify. It's hopeless.

I wish Google would work with independent distributors. Google isn't very user friendly with Shopify online stores who are distributors of products. These products have a logo and the company requires the logo to be a part of the picture. Google doesn't support pictures with logos, and therefore a lot of my products are advertised.

Hi there, Charlotte here from Shopify support, thank you for taking the time to install and use the Google channel on your store and leave a review. App not working, customer support is pointless. The person that can help fix your suddenly pulled off product cannot be reached but will respond back within a week. However, you can talk as long as you want to a service representative that cannot help you but sympathizes with your frustration, so there is that.

Very disappointing app. Basic functionality does not work. Cannot sync GTIN, which is essential, cannot sync shipping pricing, resulting in account suspension, cannot sync product stock status, resulting in suspension, etc. Only thing it does do is sync products, which it seems to do fine... until the products are all disapproved...No help from Google or Shopify developers.

Using this app has increased traffic to my website but has done nothing for sales. The problem is that google has only one classification of "sarees and lehengas" in their list for all the millions of varieties of sarees that are available in India. I have been using this app for nearly three years. There has recently, not sure how recent, been an update to the Google Shopping app that has changed to bulk editor. This change has not only increased the time to make bulk changes with an infinite scroll, but also while loosing some flexibility in the interface. Additionally, I noticed that a lot of my product attributes have been automatically changed without my consent. All of my apparel now says "infant" and all the genders on my clothing were switched to "Male". What a terrible experience. I will now spend hours correcting all this data. In addition to hours more spending on adding new items. Stop the infinite scrolling, bring back the page numbers for starters. It is too much data to compute with larger catalogs. Update on 6/1: This has been awful. The Shopify team reached out to me after my review, and after I spent over 24 hours of continuous work on my Google Merchant Center fields, to state they "fixed" the problems with the attributes shifting from Adult to Infant, and the Genders switching to Male. Their "fix" reverted all of my hard work back to its broken state of Male and Infant. I spent HOURS of my life changing them back to the right age group and genders. This has been terrible. Since I have highlighted this issue, their support staff has not responded to any of my follow-up. It's like they made my life more difficult and just forget about my business. Which has had an impact on sales due to this problem.
It has been almost 2 months since GTIN issue but no fix. The app loses alot of value without GTIN synchronizing properly

This app doesn't take into account package sizes, so Google banned me from the advertising account I've had for over ten years! The shipping costs on my website can't possibly match the shipping costs shown in the Google Merchant Center and according to Shopify tech support, there's no way to fix this. Maybe if you only sell small boxes that are all the same size you won't have a problem, but I have some things in a 4x6 box and some things in a 40x30" box.

We have been using this app for over a year. However, in December 2021 we noticed that customers were using discount codes that are for internal employees, friends and families. It turns out that any 'active' discount code is being sent to Merchant Center and they in turn open it to the universe. We had to inactivate all our discount codes except for just a few. We had to cancel multiple orders where customers used them. Bad time of year, bad customer relations. We reported it immediately on that day (Dec 10) and have not gotten any word from support since. Multiple shops have reported this problem to no avail. Would be great to give the shop owner the ability indicate what channel the codes can be 'shared' on. Currently we are operating at a big disadvantage with no ability to treat our mailing list customers special.

If you sell drop-shipped items or manufactured items this feed is probably amazing. As a small, custom-work shop, this App has been disappointing. First what it does well. It put -some- of my products on Google shopping ads internationally and brought in a good traffic boost of mostly empty (accidental) clicks from apps that I have to pay for. It also gave me a semi-functional merchant account feed I can use for my own marketing. The Smart Campaign wont allow me to change any settings other than budget so I ended up using the feed with my own Ads in my own campaigns. Now for the difficulties: My Shopify Product database keeps randomly dropping my Google product categories or - GUESSES at what I am selling after I have already chosen the product categories (they get overwritten by SMART?? Machine Learning guessing them). Next, Every. single. time, Google scans my Webpage it produces price random mismatch errors that result in 10-15% of my listings being blocked. At any given time 10% of my products are blocked by Google because of a Google Web Crawler issue. Considering they are all listed properly in my Shopify feed (barring weird category choices by Shopify) this is a pretty high error rate. The Google web crawler locks on the initial displayed product price on my web page. My variants are priced differently according to size. So to Google my Shopify merchant data feed is different than how Google's web crawler sees the web page (I don't think Google crawler is fully compatible with the Shopify Web Page formatting). Finally, Google's solution to fraud prevention and offering price comparisons to meet EU online sales guidelines results in a bias that favors mass-produced item listings. IF I am going to use Google Shopping ads, Google would like me to have a Manufacturer's Part Number for a custom-framed photo and I can't fake a registered number; Google insists on a registered part number to sell my items in the US and some other markets. Even selecting "This is a custom product" allows only limited functions - so for the most part a small custom or hand-made product merchant can't meet those requirements. Therefore this app is not fully functional for everyone.

Hey there, Adil here from Shopify. Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. I'll be sending an email out to you shortly to open up lines of communication. I look forward to communicating with you there. Adil | Shopify
For listing things it's great, until it starts wanting settings that shouldn't apply to that product at all. Gender, age, etc for paint. Fixing this does nothing since the item is back up on the list for yet something else the next day or hour. Image crawls? 3 days? Nope. They never finish. I don't even know what they are looking for in image crawls. Missing GTINs or wrong ones? Fix them? Nope. It still says it's the wrong GTIN even though you scanned right from the product. I have been fighting this daily for a month now and still have over 500 products on the publish error list that keep coming back. Edit: Now over half my products are coming up with the error of not having a GTIN... but only when the GTIN is scanned or the product altered in any way. THey all have barcodes (gtins) in the listings! Customer support has stopped responding after the first email.
This app creates a feed automatically and link it to your merchant center. However, it's a feed you have 0 control over and this will affect performance and tracking. I appreciate when the support replied to me, but their only suggestion was to add another app to download the feed (at the cost of 20$ a month). What's the point? Fortunately, I found Feed Donkey which does the job very well.

Same issues here. We are very much unhappy. It was working great but stopped working from around 3-4 weeks ago without giving any notice or issues. Still it's not working. Our sales and traffic are lost too much. Please investigate ASAP. Thanks.

I've spent months of fixing "contact us", "misrepresentation", etc. and google just keeps sending the same requirement with no clear answer to why my account is suspended. They told me to activate my ads account. I spent money and won't spend more advertising with them is my account is suspended.

As so many others have said, this is easy to initially set up, but the editing is atrocious. Google disapproved many products. I've wanted to go in to make edits, but there is no way to filter, so every product we've EVER had in our store shows up--not just those that are currently available. SO TEDIOUS.

As far as I know, there is no way to set up a second feed in shopify for another country. You can set it up in Google, but you can't synch them with your shopify products. That doesn't make any sense in German-speaking countries. Anyone who speaks German would sell to Germany and Austria or even Switzerland. ...No products in Austrian google :( If there is a possibility - please help!

The app worked for the first campaign I created in May 2019. For some reason it started giving errors so I removed the old campaign and created a new one however the new campaign in ads account keeps saying it's misconfigured and missing conversion tracking. As per shopify if I'm using this app it automatically has the conversions setup but it's not happening. Also not to mention there is 0 support from Shopify and Google. Planning to move to some paid apps where I can get quality support!!

This App has been the best & worst experience for us. We installed the App & very quickly it turned our buinsess around in the most amazing way & solved all our Google Ad challenges. We loved what this app had done for us BUT soon after, we starting experiencing problems with product feed & syncing on Google Merchant Centre and the nightmare began, before we knew it, our active poroducts on Merchant Centre dropped from more than 6000 to less than 1700 and kept going down & our wesbite came to a grinding halt - no more revenue!! Contacting support has been a frustrating experience and each day that passed we lost revenue while they 'tried' to fix the problem with little actual feedback, to the point that we swithced to another app just to make sure that our issues with Merchant Centre were as a result of a problem with this app - once we switched, all our product issues resloved and almost zero issues on Merchant Centre but the app we installed is not Google Channel and has not yet done what Google Channel had done for us - we are so very sad that the support team had not helped us and that we know have to deal with the problem of knowing of probably the best Google Shopping App which has issues with product feed that we have had to leave and now sit with an app that has no product feed issues but has added no value as Google Channel did - nobody from support of this app will probably even read this review so it probably doesnt matter that I write this - if only a real person from support would actually care enough to truly want to help us, we could keep using this App that we know is able to produce amazing results - I don't know what to do.
This app is for those who trust Google with their 'Smart Shopping' campaigns, but not suitable for proper Google Shopping Campaigns (where you can manage bids and segment, switching products on and off etc.). Smart Shopping does not provide the best ROI for businesses so would recommend choosing a more versatile tool and managing your Ads more effectively.

After I saw all the great ratings of this app, I was very excited to use it. I'll start out by saying it's not all bad, but unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. The good: 1) set-up was very simple - my unpaid listing appeared on Google Shopping and after a few days was showing up for all relevant searches; 2) customer service is 5-star (Luke really did his best to help me out and was successful with helping me with the free shipping piece since it was originally displaying the highest priority shipping I charge rather than standard). The bad: 1) we currently have two products, and even though nowhere in Shopify does it say they are variants, Google was treating them as size variants of each other; 2) only the feature images showed up on the unpaid listing result - when you clicked on the listing however, very old images were showing that were out of date (Luke tried to do a reset on these two things to get our current product images to display, but sadly it didn't work); 3) more of a suggestion than a bad thing, but it would be really helpful if this app integrated with review systems like judge.me - currently this app does not support this because Shopify creates its own ID that it sends to Google rather than grabbing your gtin/SKU, meaning you can't get your product ratings to display on Google Shopping because the numbers won't match up. Although I've decided to try out another app in the hopes of a better result, I do want to emphasize the excellent customer service - thanks for trying guys; it's the app that let me down!

*Update May 2020* I will keep updating my review until all the issues are fixed I keep having to open tickets to get this app working and the constant babysitting of the feed is getting frustrating. The following issues still remain: 1. CSV import is broken, the metafields in the csv are outdated and are ignored by both Shopify and Google Merchant Center. The only bulk way to update the correct Google Shopping fields is with a paid app or using the bulk editor. 2. The only way to use the free bulk editor is you have to click manage availability from the app, you cannot use the normal bulk editor, which means you cannot filter products you want to edit. 3. Bug: if you have a product with variants and one of the variants has UPC filled in and the other variant does not have a UPC the app pre check will complain your UPC has the wrong digits and will not submit the variant to Google Merchant Center. 4. The feed stalls frequently and you have to open a ticket to get the team to resync your products. If you are not careful you will be missing products in the feed and several times your feed will expire and Google will delist all your products. 5. If google flags an issue with a product and you go and fix it, depending on the issue the shopify app will fail to reimport that product and submit back to google. I have several where I entered UPC wrong, google flagged it, I fix the UPC and the product disappears from the feed. You have to open a ticket with the team to have them re import your feed. *I know the team is trying and they are working on this app, but they really need more technical help or resources, this is an import app/feature for shopify and critical to every business.

Hi there, my name is Jonathan and I'm a member of Shopify's support team. I'm sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with the Google Shopping application thus far. I can imagine that's very frustrating! We sync your product catalogue with Google once a day, unless nothing has been changed in which case it is approximately once every 15 - 20 days, but should anything come up that requires a sync of your products you can always reach out to our team and we can sync your catalogue from our end if it's warranted. I'm so sorry to hear that you've had that experience with our team in the past, and I’d love to help make it right by reaching out via e-mail and determining if there's anything else I can do to make the Google Shopping application work for you. I'll be in touch very soon! Jonathan E. | Shopify Support Guru

Looks easy to install, I've setup Google Merchant Account successfully. But my products have not been approved. This is the message I'm getting "Google is reviewing your Merchant Center account. Your product will be re-reviewed once your account is approved." No clarity at all. How can I resolve this issue so my products are Approved by Google Shopping? Do I need to wait or what?
Developer reply ·
Hi there, my name is Jonathan and I am member of Shopify's support team! This is a great question! That notice is letting you know that your Google Merchant Center account is still within the review period with Google and that once that review is complete, Google will review your products for approval! This process typically takes between 3 - 5 business days. I'm going to reach out to you via a private e-mail so that I can provide some more information on that process, and offer support with getting the app up-and-running for you. Be sure to check your inbox (and junk mail) for that! Jonathan E. - Shopify Support
Results not good. Campaigns not specific enough. There are apps in Shopify market that result in better & more specific Google ad campaigns.
Developer reply ·
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The Google Shopping App uses "Smart Shopping campaigns". These campaign use machine learning with the goal to achieve maximized conversions. Google's systems will pull from the product feed to test a number of combinations and then show it across the most relevant ads across the Google network. You can learn more about that here: (http://bit.ly/2D13WdH). I especially recommend reading the "Best practices" section. There's a lot of different ways that these campaigns can work, but you can also look at designing your own without the smart feature. I've gone ahead and sent you an email with some additional resources to help you determine the best marketing route to take for your business, and see if there's anything I can do to assist. Hope to hear from you soon. - Ryder, Shopify Support
If you have simple products that are easily submitted to Google Merchant Centre then this app would probably be fine. The products I was trying to submit required a lot of fine tweaking because they were medically related. This app does not make it easy to make changes specifically for Google Shopping. If you want to make changes you have to change your entire product in your store. Which is not ideal. I ended up deleting it and starting again with a whole new app.
Developer reply ·
Thanks for leaving a review! The Google Shopping App does import your existing product data from Shopify, but you may need to add any required additional information before you can sync products with Google Merchant Centre. I see that you have reached out to our Support Team in regards to the trouble you've experienced with your products, have you had an opportunity to check their response? I've also gone ahead and sent you an email to follow up as I'd be happy to work together to have your products sync appropriately. I hope to hear from you soon! - Ryder, Shopify Support
The products added here dont get updated. Recently, all my products were marked as errors and hence my ads stopped. No idea how to fix it. Pls help.

Please keep an eye out for my email and I look forward to hearing back from you. -Victor, Shopify Support
It would work as expected if the developers had taken the time to give the user the choice on what variants to feed to google merchant or not. The app is feeding all the variants per product which I do not want. The most expensive variant shows at the top on google shopping and make my products look more expensive than the competitors'. The less expensive variants do not rank as high. I am expending money on a campaign and this app can not even give me the choice to pick what variants to advertise or not. I get many impressions in google but a few clicks and no purchases. This is lack of vision is costing me money. I may unistall this app un less they fix this ASAP. Seems like an obvious problem.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for writing your review and for providing us with your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you've had this issue with the Google Shopping app, and I'd like to know more about how you're setting your ads up so I can look and see if there's a solution to your problem. I'll be sending you an email shortly and look forward to hearing back from you. -Victor, Shopify Support
no problem installing or running the app, easy no issues. Not being able to set your ads is the biggest problem with this app. You are not setting your keywords, pictures or what it says. I see my ads all the time and they look like crap. It will flash whichever picture for the product without any explanation on what it is. In proper google ads, my keyword is about 1.80 per click. In this campaign, my rate is 0.11 per click. Also the bounce rate is way high, so this app actually hurts my shop standing with google
Developer reply ·
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for providing this feedback. I can appreciate why the lack of flexibility with regards to keywords and images is restrictive, and how this has had a negative impact on your ratio of keywords to clicks. We are always seeking to improve the apps we offer, and feedback such as this plays a big part in how we enhance the functionality of these apps over time. I will be submitting your feedback to our development team for their consideration, so thank you again for explaining the issues you've had with the app in a detailed manner. -Victor, Shopify Support
Data feeds expire in Google Merchant Center and the app didn't renew the feed at all. Not good. I saw a lot of complaints about this online. Why don't you fix it ?
Developer reply ·
Hi, there. Your feedback is valuable and will help us improve the platform and apps so we thank you for taking the time to share it with us. Google does currently have a limitation where if a product is not updated within 30 days, it expires. The Google Shopping app should update your product before this timeframe so products should not expire. If for any reason it does expire, you can contact Shopify Support and our team can assist further! I’ve followed up with you via email in case you needed any further assistance on this. Hope to hear from you soon! - Alex, Shopify Support
Only allowed me to create a product feed for Canada, so I manually created product feeds for every country in Merchant Center. Then the app re-submitted products that were already active, messing up all my Google Ads campaigns.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. This is actually expected behaviour as you can only target one country (determined by the currency in which your Shopify account is set to.) with the Google Shopping app. We’re always working to improve the way our apps work, so I’ve followed up with you via email to log your feedback for our development team. -Emma, Shopify Support
Incredibly clunky and time consuming. Pretty disappointed in Shopify for not putting any actual effort into this and making it a functional app.

Thank you for sharing this feedback! Shopify works hard to ensure that our apps have an efficient workflow and meet the needs of our merchants. Our support team is available 24/7 for any issues you experience with our platform. That said, I’ve reached out to you via email so we can dig into the specific concerns you have and log this feedback with our developers. I hope to hear from you soon! - Lauren, Shopify Support
Stayed in sync made never finished syncing had to uninstall. Never moved for weeks after retrying. Maybe you will have better luck. Let me know if you figure it out @jdroyalty
The app needs to have an option of selecting which variants a merchant wants to publish to Google Shopping product listing ads. It is a very common scenario where a merchant may not want to publish all variants of a product to Google Shopping. Currently there is no workaround & that means wasted marketing dollars.
I don't like the fact that the number of products is limited to 10,000. I sell tools. I have nearly triple that amount of SKU's.
Well, there is definitely plenty of room for app improvement. For instance, better tooltips or links to explain the configuration of google shopping fields.
The idea is there but still needs a lot of work. Please create a setting allowing the meta title and description to be used.
