Nice in theory, but it works inconsistently. For our Black Friday offer (free gift for a specific order threshold), it granted free gifts to orders that didn't at all meet the set order threshold. Don't recommend this app, I'm sure there are much better options out there that work properly.

Jeff killed it! I had a quirky issue after doing some theme modifications to my store and Jeff popped in and fixed it and pushed it live for me all while I was on the road just checking in on email. The GWP function is a life safer. Customer Service is thorough, fast and complete. Highly recommend.

This app duplicates the product you want to make free and then adds it LIVE to your website! Customers can add the product at $0.00 and checkout without hitting the sales motivator threshold. It also displays an incredibly unprofessional looking message in the duplicated product description about how it should not be deleted and is a hidden motivator product - again all live for customers to search for and view on our site. If you hide the free product then the free gift malfunctions and will not be added even to qualifying orders. Very bad user experience for us and our customers. Will be uninstalling and looking for a free gift app elsewhere.

I used this app to gift our customers a free gift card when they hit a certain order value. Two major flaws I encountered with this app: 1) My store is in USD but we do get Canadian customers who checkout in CAD. I set the goal to be USD1000 in order to receive the gift card. However, the app does not differentiate currencies so it issued my Canadian customers the free gift when it hit CAD1000 in order value. For those who are familiar with USD to CAD conversion, CAD1000 is worth like not even USD800 so I lost out on my promotion :( 2) I have 3 different goal levels and the customer is only supposed to receive 1 gift, whichever closest goal is met. The app ended up issuing my customer multiple gifts for EACH goal they achieved. The app's support page specifically mentions that they can do tiered goals but this does not appear to be the case. I've reached out to support 3 days ago and the problem still has not been resolved. So right now, I have to send my customer an email apologizing for the multiple gift offers and that I have to remove the extra gift. I wish this app was better built. I use other Bold products and trusted them. This was a rather disappointing experience. Thank you for your honest feedback. Our development team is constantly working to improve our apps. The app is nice as long it is working. So far the created goal has stopped prematurely every time we created a new onel. We have contacted Bold several times but no one there seems to care enough to fix the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you. I've used this app to offer various free merchandise type gifts to increase order value. We recently changed theme and I realised I needed to reinstall the code the day before Black Friday. I got stuck with the cart code and couldn't get it working, thankfully Paul from the Bold support team jumped right on it and had this resolved for me within an hour. I used this app to help me do promo bars. I really like how it does promote sales. It would be nice if it did the installation process better.

review update: 9/11 - customer support reached out right away today and installed the app on my account. I just tested it and it works perfectly. great concept and I love the bar that appears at the top that dynamically updates each time a customer add something to cart "hey you're only ____ away from getting a free ____". it definitely helps motivate higher avg cart values. I currently use other BOLD COMMERCE apps as well - it's actually nice to have a company that has a multitude of apps because you can be sure that there's no app incompatibility issues. I've had my fair share of having to remove code / remove this app / that app, due to incompatibility issues. So it's nice to know that when I install a new Bold Commerce app, I know it'll work with no compatibility issues. original review: If you need to use this app to give away a free product it requires a manual installation to your theme - and they want $10 for it. I have never had to pay extra for an app to help install their stuff on my shopify, but whatever. I was okay with this, I get it. So i followed the directions exactly and added their support email account as a staff account in my shopify site. 9 days go by and no one has bothered to accept the invitation. I emailed support and no one bothers to respond there either. you cannot use an app that is this bad at customer service - if you have tech issues, dont expect any help.

Support is great, very responsive. My one complaint is that the premium version of the app requires additional coding to be implemented. We lost a couple of days because of that.

The app has caused a lot of issues for the store, at some point, it deactivated my "checkout" button, it got installed in the wrong theme of the store for no apparent reason so when I was testing the banner was showing on my live store, it has been a pain, but on the bright side today I spent about an hour with Sukh from the support team. The chat interaction was super helpful, we figured out a solution together. If it wasn't for the great support I received from Sukh I would give the app fewer stars.

We LOVE this app, made a huge difference in BFCM and are continuing to use it more throughout year as the Goals really WORK. We use it for free gift with purchase and its a super star. Also love the support offered by Priyanka and rest of team is very responsive.

App seems designed decent. Install was pretty straight forward. If you want to just offer free shipping or a simple free product it will work decent enough. But for me I wanted to offer a free t-shirt once the customer spent a certain amount on my site and it doesn't give the option of variants to be used so they cannot select a size. Also, for pop up cart pages when people add something to the cart it doesn't show the message unless they go back to the site afterwards of how much more they have to spend. It just needs more work before it can be useful to me. Had to uninstall.

This app is simple to use. Simple to create goals / deals and very clean looking. It provides incentive for customers to reach a threshold to receive that "free gift" or the "Free S/H" Simply... simple! =]

Excellent. Very simple to use once installed. Needs a custom install, I used the option to have the team do it for me for $10 which was quick and straight forward.

We just downloaded to offer a free lanyard for orders over $50. The team installed the code and we easily set up the goals. We had some issues with cart functionality, but Alan was able to dive in very quickly and correct the code to make sure everything was functioning as it should. So far so good!

I am pretty good at understanding code so I didn't have any problem installing the app and getting all the features out of it. I have been able to increase my order value using Sales Motivator. The app does everything it says it do and support via live chat and email are amazing!!! I did have one issue however, when someone wen to my store and created a cart and the free item was added and then left, when they came back to that cart and added more product it was adding another free product. Navjot was very responsive and went in an edited my code and added a condition for me so this never happens again and customer don't get more than what they were supposed to on their free product. I highly recommend this app. I also have product upsell, and product discount

A good app that could be better. A little clunky in terms of user experience but does the job. Dan was very helpful in correcting our code to make sure customers can't order more than 1 free product from a goal. Would love to see a preview or test mode added to the app as the only way to see if it's working is to go live with it... not ideal. Also, would like the ability to have more than one free item for a customer to choose from.

Easily the #1 app you need on your store. Desktop and responsive. Facilitates conversion on anything you're driving in your funnel. Super easy to implement too .... and super easy to change on the fly.

I needed a good way to give my customers free shipping over a certain amount and communicate that in a way that did not detract from the site. I also wanted to push upsells by showing them how far away from free shipping they were. The Motivator app not only did that, but I have also used it as a way to show specials or to let customers know when shipping times are extended because of heavy orders or vacations etc.

Awesome app!! Really does help get more sales since a lot of people don't know you offer free shipping once they get to a certain amount, specially if you have different shipping prices for different countries!! Highly recommended!

Yes The Motivator is probably a great app BUT: 1. In the video they promise that "You can customize everything". That is not true. Our store is Bulgarian, the symbols are Cyrillic but the app displays “???” instead the correct symbols. When we asked the developer to help us with this issue (you know that a lot of developers can easy solve such problems) the answer was: “Our applications out of the box wont support Cyrillic, however they do support unicode https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyrillic_script_in_Unicode, the work around at the moment would be to use the unicode characters or have your customers use chrome with the translate extension.” 2. In the video they promise “No liquid or HTML”. That is not true. You have to pay $10 even at the beginning of the free trial period for settings in the Liquid and HTML. So in our case we paid $10 at the first day of our free trial and then realize that we are receiving nothing. We are very disappointed, good luck for all that works with English alphabet.

Server reliability seems to be an issue with this app. We are in the middle of a promotion, and the app has stopped working for nearly 24 hours.

Cool App! Comes in handy when seeking more sales!

This is a great little app that every Shopify store owner should consider owning. We are already seeing approximately a 20% boost in our average cart size. We especially like the premium version as it lets us target our promotions to specific geographic locations. Finally, their customer service and support is extremely good. We also use Bold's Quantity Break app with equal satisfaction.

This app has worked really well already to increase the spend per order from our customers to reach the free delivery goal. It makes it clear to customers what their goal is and was ready and set up on the website within minutes. Plus, it uses the shopify currency which is perfect as well sell all over Europe and can target the motivator to certain countries! Excellent application!

We're using this in tandem with Bold's 'Upsell' and they are certainly doing the job they are designed for, i.e. increasing sales and encouraging our customers to convert. So both thumbs up for 'The Motivator'; it motivates. Recommended!

If I could give this app zero stars I would. We wanted to run a promotion that would give specific free gifts to customers when they reached various thresholds of cart value. Pretty simple use case. The app only actually added the free gifts to the cart accurately 1/4 of the time. 75% error rate is an absurd and outrageous failure from an application that is built for this specific use case. I don't know what the cause of the error is, I suspect that it has something to do with Bold's app/connection to Shopify being slow, but regardless it's unacceptable. This app creates an insane amount of operational headaches that we are now having to spend all day dealing with. Don't sell an app if it can't do what it is advertised to do. It's unrealistic to expect a customer to wait 5-10 seconds between getting to the cart page and clicking checkout. This is not the first problem we've had with Bold Apps. If you are a store of any scale I would strongly, strongly suggest staying away from this application. It's completely incompetent.

We geared our entire holiday sales around this app + 2 others from BOLD & all 3 failed us miserably. Free products would be added to the cart about 50% of the time. NOW after I've turned off the "goals" they're still rolling in with customers who have doubled up on discounts... yesterday's & today's discounts together. Literally costing us thousands of dollars this holiday! Just based on our experience needing it to work properly for ONE DAY, I would avoid at all costs! (Especially if you run a very big online shop & have a lot to lose if it doesn't work properly!) We are not looking forward to the headache this app has created for us today.

Brilliant App, installed seamlessly and quickly. I would say however it would be good to point our to users that are just going to have cart based goals such as free shipping threshold only, that they do not have to adjust their Liquid template (this only needs to be done if you offer free products when a customers order reaches a certain value) as I almost hesitated in completing the installation when It looked like it would require a little more work to get it working! Brilliant app though, works a charm and we have already seen results from it.

Love the idea of this app! The install was easy and setup was easy. Unfortunately we're not able to use it because there isn't enough flexibility to exclude/include certain products, collections, etc. from the set goals. See, we have wholesale customers and retail. We also have 1 particular product that is extremely heavy and needs to be excluded from free shipping. I use several of Bold's products and really love most of everything they do. I'm sure they'll add the flexibility I need in the future. - I hope it's soon!

It's a great app that is very simple to utilize. I had them install it as I'm not good with code and they did it in a less than a day. I also needed something tweaked and they did that for me promptly as well. Customer service is great and would highly recommend. Why 4 stars ?... that's only because I think it could use a few more options, perhaps font styles, background designs and optional placement areas on the website. As it stands now you need to know coding to fancy things up. Other than that it's certainly worth getting in my opinion.

Just installed the Motivator. This is my second bold app... based on the wonderful customer service and the powerful features, I am planning on buying 2 more! I feel comfortable using apps from a company who has released so many. The apps work really well together to help you segment your customers and provide motivation to purchase. I will continue to troll their offering looking for more bold apps!

We notice our sales have increase the very first day we added this app. Multiple item orders are now 70% of our daily sales. Before it was around 30%.
