The reviews themselves work fine, but on a dark theme (Dawn with a black background) the "From our customers" heading on the Reviews Grid is dark grey on black and unreadable. The color setting is right there in the theme editor, already set to white, but it's ignored because all styling is locked behind the paid Awesome plan. Charging extra just to make your own heading readable is a poor way to treat merchants. Spent over an hour tracking this down. Unlock basic text colors on the free plan.
App broke the rich snippets by modifying the JSON-LD for most of my products in a way that Google Search did not recognize the product anymore. Use with caution.
Overall, I like the app, but the review system is far too restrictive and complicated. I have run into several issues: * When customers verify their email through the QR code or review request, they are taken to a ChargeMe account page where it looks like they already have an account. This is very confusing for customers. They only wanted to leave a review, not create or log into another platform. * Merchants have almost no control over reviews. Even small changes, such as anonymizing a customer’s name (changing a full surname to an initial), cannot be done by the merchant. The customer has to do everything themselves. * The review edit links are unreliable. When I tried to send one to a customer, it never arrived. * Overall, merchants cannot make even basic adjustments. Everything is locked down to such an extent that it no longer improves security—it just makes simple tasks slow and frustrating for both merchants and customers. I think the platform is overprotected. There should be more flexibility for store owners to manage reviews and help customers without forcing them through unnecessary steps. Right now, the process is much more complicated than it needs to be.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. We genuinely appreciate the balanced review and are glad to hear that, overall, you've been enjoying the app. We also understand the concerns you raised around the review confirmation flow, merchant controls, and the overall review management experience. Since your review, we've been in touch via email to discuss these points in more detail. Your suggestions regarding the reviewer profile page after email confirmation and giving merchants more flexibility for legitimate review management cases have already been shared with our Product team for consideration. We're also still keen to investigate the issue you mentioned with the review edit email not being delivered, as that isn't the experience we want anyone to have. If you have a chance to reply to our email with an example, we'll be happy to look into it for you. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. Conversations like this genuinely help us improve Judge.me, and we hope we'll have the opportunity to make your experience even better over time.

incredibly frustrating to navigate
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your feedback, we’re sorry to hear the navigation felt frustrating. We understand how confusing it can be when things don’t behave consistently. We followed up with you and were able to clarify how to access the Reviews dashboard from the left-side menu. From our side, the section should always show all reviews, while the reports view is a separate page. That said, we understand you experienced some inconsistency, and we’re keeping an eye on this to better understand what might have caused it.
So far not a good experience. I will leave this review on until the issue is fixed. We have an e-commerce platform in CZ and the issue is that our customers get auto-replies and e-mails from Judge.me in Russian or Croatian language instead of Czech. I have already sent a ticket 2 times and so far no fix. Sadly, this makes our store look fraudulant. Thankfully, we are on the free version for now but I doubt that an upgrade would work if the codes are full of bugs in the trial version.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for raising this, you’re absolutely right that language accuracy is critical, especially for customer-facing emails. We sincerely apologise for the incorrect language appearing in Czech stores. That should not happen. We have identified the issue in the Czech translation layer and have already implemented grammar corrections in the reply notification email. We are also reviewing the handling of reviewer names in subject lines, particularly considering Czech vocative rules, to ensure the wording is linguistically correct and natural. We truly appreciate your detailed feedback and corrections, it has helped us improve the translations properly rather than applying a temporary workaround. Our goal is to fix this permanently at the system level so it does not require additional troubleshooting on your side. Thank you again for your patience and for helping us get this right.
We are downgrading our review from 5 stars to 2 stars after several years of use, as this rating now better reflects our overall experience with Judge.me. Judge.me is clearly built with good intentions. The interface is clean, the app is easy to use, and customer support is responsive, human, and available 7 days a week. On that front, nothing to say — the team genuinely tries to help within the limits of how the product is designed. However, we are now facing a much more serious concern: we are starting to doubt Judge.me’s ability to reliably fulfill its primary purpose — collecting reviews. We have a significant number of POS sales, with real human interactions and customers who are genuinely willing to leave reviews. Even accounting for the usual delay between a purchase and a review, the gap we are seeing is far too large to be considered normal. At this point, we are no longer talking about optimization — but about trust in the system. A reminder system that works against review collection The core issue is the reminder logic. Reminders are not sent if the initial review request email is not opened. This rule is: • counter-intuitive, • poorly documented during setup, • and discovered only after investing a lot of time configuring reminders. In real-world scenarios — especially with POS customers — many people: • see the subject line but don’t have time to open, • miss the email entirely, • or intend to come back later. These are precisely the cases where reminders are most useful. Instead, the system prioritizes reminding people who already opened the email and chose not to act — which statistically makes far less sense. The result: a carefully configured reminder system that simply doesn’t trigger in many real-life situations, leading to an artificially low review rate. Needing to rely on an external tool like Klaviyo only to compensate for this design choice is not a reasonable solution. At that point, it may be more efficient to invest in another review app altogether. Growing concerns, not an isolated case After investigating further, we realized that we are not alone in experiencing unusually low review rates despite having many orders and correct setups. This reinforces our concern that this is not just a configuration issue, but a product design problem. Additional issues • The “All Reviews” page significantly hurts performance, especially on mobile, with poor LCP, TBT and CLS scores — which is a real SEO and Core Web Vitals issue. • There is still no way to create dynamic collections based on: • most-reviewed products, • best-rated products, • or recently reviewed products. • Custom questions are displayed raw and often dominate the visual space, while written reviews — which require real effort from customers — become secondary. Summarized insights (e.g. “99% of customers were satisfied”) would be far more useful and less intrusive. Final thoughts Judge.me remains a well-intentioned app with strong support, but good intentions and nice UI are not enough if the review collection mechanism itself is flawed or overly restrictive. For a review app, collecting reviews is not a secondary feature — it is the product. Right now, too many key decisions work against that goal, and that’s why we can no longer confidently recommend it as a reliable long-term solution.
I have been trying out your product to see if I wanted to buy a premium paid version. I just hand wrote 40 emails to existing customers asking for reviews. I used the link invitation that goes to my own website as it's higher trust for my customers. A few of them have just reported the link doesn't work. I've tried it and it doesn't consistently for me either. I have lost the chance of good reviews and look incompetent in front of my customers. I'd like you to fix this or I'll go to another app. Your own internal submit review button doesn't work. Absurd!!!
Developer reply ·
We’re really sorry to hear about this frustrating experience, especially when you took the time to personally reach out to customers and then ran into issues with the review link and verification. We completely understand how important it is to have a smooth and trustworthy review flow. We’ve already followed up with you privately and are actively investigating the specific cases you mentioned. In some situations, reviews submitted directly through the storefront widget require an additional verification step (and older orders placed before the app was installed may need manual matching), and we’re working with you to get those reviews properly verified. Thank you again for flagging this. Our team is here to make sure everything works reliably and to help you collect reviews with confidence.
While the app itself is reliable and well integrated, the customer-facing emails are not usable. The new “smart” template allows only minimal styling and offers no control over margins, padding, or spacing between blocks. As a result, a medium-sized logo and the first line of text take up nearly 50% of the screen, which is frustrating for recipients. Although the older custom template still exists, it’s only applied to review requests and reminders. All post-review notifications are forced to use the smart template. Additionally, there is still no support for separate logos in light and dark mode—something that should have been implemented years ago.
Not great. not user friendly and helpful with styling. not clear on where the rating can appear and how to do so. the important stuff to a store. y'all feel like a tech company vs human company.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback, we’re really sorry the setup and styling felt unclear and impersonal. We completely understand how important it is for ratings, widgets, and emails to feel intuitive and professional on a live store. We’ve already connected with you privately to go through your concerns in detail, including email styling options, widget placement, and Google ratings syncing, and we’re happy to continue walking through everything together at your pace. Our goal is to make Judge.me feel supportive and human, not complicated or distant. Thanks again for taking the time to explain what didn’t work for you, it truly helps us improve.
new using the app support been great but the app setup keep having issues that i have to keep reaching out to support
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really glad to hear you’ve had a positive experience with our support team. We’re sorry, though, for the repeated setup issues you’ve encountered, that’s not the smooth start we want for you. We’ve already followed up privately to review your widget configuration and make sure everything stays stable going forward.
great and super fast support. Solved my issues immediately. Thanks guys :) edit: what seemed to be good changed into a nightmare. We have to check manually which vouchers have actually been created, since the app is buggy with that functionality according to support. Worst thing is, our customers come back to us saying they cannot use the vouchers
We have been using the App (paid plan) for months now. Functionality and front end are okay, but the backend literally is unusable due to constant pop ups and spam. Sad to say, but we'll consider moving on.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your honest feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the frustration the in-app pop-ups caused. We completely understand how disruptive that can feel, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We’ve already reached out privately to discuss your preferences and can disable all pop-ups and promotional messages for your account if you prefer a cleaner experience. We’ve also shared your feedback with our product and marketing teams to help improve how in-app guidance and updates are delivered in the future. We really value your long-term trust in Judge.me and hope we can make the experience smoother for you moving forward.
Judge.me Product Reviews App – 1 Year User Experience Pros: We have been using this app for over a year; its design and ease of use are great. The app structure and live support are very good; they respond quickly and help efficiently. Cons: We have been using the app for over a year and switched to the paid version 1 month ago. Unfortunately, it has been disappointing: despite having many orders, we have not received a single review. Paying for the paid version doesn’t make much sense for us. Because no reviews were coming in, we reached out for support. Tasnim helped us, thank you. She checked our system and website, confirming everything is set up correctly. However, we still haven’t received an answer to our main question: why aren’t we getting reviews? In our opinion, there is an issue with the app. Is it normal that not a single customer leaves a review among so many orders, even though we offer gifts for every review? Now that all conditions are perfect, why are no reviews coming in? Other features in the paid version seem useless to us; we haven’t seen any benefit so far. The difference between free and paid versions, based on our observation, is negligible. We will continue to try for another month, but we are not sure this app is the right solution for us. Note: We are unsure; we will continue testing for another month. If we still do not see results or receive reviews, we are considering canceling the paid version as it would be an unnecessary expense. Everything is set up perfectly on our side, but the app doesn’t seem to deliver the main purpose. We will update this review after another month of experience. Wishing everyone great sales!

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review, we truly appreciate both your kind words and your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your review collection results haven’t met expectations since upgrading, and we completely understand how important it is to see a clear return from the app. We’ve already reached out privately to go through your setup in detail and noticed a few recent changes that might impact open rates. We’ve also shared a full overview of the Awesome Plan features and offered to help set them up to improve results. Our team is standing by to assist as soon as you’re ready, and we’ll continue working with you to ensure you get the most out of Judge.me. Thank you again for your trust and for helping us make the app better with your feedback.
A Disappointing and Frustrating Experience. I encountered several bothersome bugs in the template editor. The most frustrating issue is the what you see is not what you get problem, where the live email does not always match the preview in the editor. This makes it impossible to trust the tool, forcing you to constantly send test emails to verify every change. Additionally, the customer-facing flow is broken and cannot be fixed. For example, the review page mixes my chosen language with English, and there is no way to edit or correct this. The lack of proper language support is a major flaw. Finally, the support was mediocre. I lost my patience after a few hours of trying to get help, and I don't feel they will provide a timely solution. Due to these unresolved issues, I am looking for an alternative.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, and we’re truly sorry for the frustrations you experienced with the template editor and language settings. We understand how important it is for the preview to match the live email and for the customer-facing flow to work seamlessly in your chosen language. We’ve already reached out privately to address the issues you mentioned. In particular, switching from the Smart template to a Custom template provides much more control over formatting and language, and avoids the limitations you ran into. Our team also offered extended support to help set this up if you decide to give us another try. We appreciate you taking the time to point out these pain points, it helps us improve both our product and support. We’re committed to making the experience smoother and more reliable, and we hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust.
Die App versendet eigenmächtig E-Mails an Kunden!!! Bitte aufpassen!!!
Amazing app. The support team are always so helpful. 1 Limitation you need to be aware of, is that joining reviews across Colour Variations is manual. eg: 1 Shirt in 10 Colours. There is no way to automate this by anything useful eg: Tags, Metafields etc. This makes managing linking reviews across Variations manual and a huge time sink if you have lots of products/variations. I would give this a 5 star rating if this function was built.
Developer reply ·
Thank you so much for your kind words about Judge.me and our support team, we truly appreciate it! You also raise a very fair point about linking reviews across color variations. At the moment, this does require some setup, but we do offer a few automation options to reduce the manual work: - Grouping by Tags: Reviews can be shared across products with specific tags. This requires providing us with the tag list, and any time new tags are added, you’d need to let us know. - Grouping by Vendor: We can set this up once, and afterwards any new products with the same vendor will automatically share reviews. - Grouping by Product Type: Similar to vendor, this can be run once, and any new products with the same type will automatically share reviews going forward. We understand how important it is to simplify this process, and your feedback helps us prioritize improvements. Hopefully these options help bridge the gap for now.
The app works well, and we’ve had helpful agents in the past. But after a recent support request to fix a display issue with review stars, the Judge.me team made theme changes that created duplicate elements on our product pages. When we reached out for help, support flat-out denied touching the theme: “We haven’t made any changes to your theme code.” “This falls outside of our scope of support.” “We recommend you contact Shopify support.” These statements were repeated over and over—even though the changes had been made by another Judge.me agent two weeks earlier, which we had to prove with a chat transcript. Only after escalation did their advanced team step in... and break our live product template entirely, removing titles, descriptions, and buy buttons. We run a high-AOV business and spend heavily on ads. Losing product functionality for seven hours during peak traffic is not something a $45 refund fixes. We also asked to speak with a supervisor multiple times and were refused. A senior agent eventually apologized and promised internal changes, but the damage was already done. If you're running a store where uptime and reliability matter, be careful: Judge.me support will edit your live theme code, and if things go wrong, you may be left without real help when you need it most.
Developer reply ·
We’re very sorry for the experience you described. We understand how disruptive this was, especially given the scale of your business and the trust you placed in our support. We’ve followed up in detail via email, and we want to reassure you that we’re taking your feedback seriously. We’re reviewing what went wrong, both technically and in how we communicated, to ensure this doesn’t happen again. This isn’t the standard we hold ourselves to, and we truly regret the impact it had on your store. We're committed to doing better!
I want to love it but its glitchy and a number of things don't work well. Changing settings does not seem to have an effect, I had to get tech help to change code to get things to work and I will have to do so again with a new theme update likely.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your honest feedback, and we're really sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been experiencing. It sounds like there might be some conflicts causing the settings not to apply properly. Our team lead has reach out to you directly. We’d love to investigate and help resolve these issues as quickly as possible so you don’t have to rely on tech support each time a theme update occurs.
Developer reply ·
We're sorry to hear of your frustrating experience. The ways in which we use and process personal data are GDPR compliant, we only collect the personal data required to operate our services. We are also processing your data erasure request and will update you shortly once this is done. The reviewer however, has full control over what is public or not, including the reviews. They can at any time unpublish their reviews or even completely delete them. In addition, the reviewer can choose how their name is displayed, including making it anonymous. They are free to change this whenever they want by logging in to their profile. This is to give reviewers more control over their reviews and their data. We understand that the reviewer name logic could be improved and this is something that the team is working on. Our team lead has been trying to get in touch to explain and we look forward to be able to connect with you.
We faced significant challenges while integrating Judge.me widgets into our theme. The process was plagued by bugs, requiring us to repeatedly explain the same issue to different chat support agents, which was both time-consuming and frustrating. Unfortunately, after nearly a month of setup, we still didn’t receive a satisfactory solution. Some of the support advisors were rude and not very helpful. To make matters worse, on the day of our planned launch, we discovered that the 4,000+ reviews we had collected over 5 years couldn't be displayed on Google Shopping due to policy restrictions. This was a major dealbreaker, as Google Shopping visibility was essential for us. Ultimately, we decided not to move forward with Judge.me as our review app. Disappointed with the entire experience.
I hoped it will make it easy to import reviews from Etsy, Trustpilot and eBay (and maybe Google Shopping and Amazon too if we needed) but all I can see is some unknown integrations (for us in the UK at least) or the possibility of doing it manually via CSV. I suppose Judge.me is more like a Trustpilot competitor and not really focussed enough on bringing in reviews from other platforms and marketplaces as well, despite the customer support insisting that thats their best feature. There is a way to read Etsy reviews as long as we also install the paid Shuttle app which we don't need as we do already integrate with Etsy via Shopify Marketplace Connect. In comparison, the Fera Product Reviews App makes it fairly easy to import the JSON file with reviews we download from Etsy. Fera also imports easily our reviews from Trustpilot and Google Shopping which Judge.me claim are covered by copyright. While for eBay and Amazon, despite the same copyright excuse, the Opinew Product Reviews App UGC can also import easily our reviews from these marketplaces. It is a shame though that none of these apps can do the job fully and properly. :( The Judge.me chat support person told me that we can import the reviews manually via CSV and do it easily with their AliExpress integration. But we're not interested in AliExpress at all while apps like this are meant to help towards automating things not doing manually. I can get ChatGPT to write for me the code for my own app and do it manually... This app is not for us at all and I'm frankly disappointed given the many positive reviews but I'm taking it that most people use it the same way we use Trustpilot.
Developer reply ·
Thank you so much for your detailed review! We understand the importance of centralizing your reviews from different sources to your Shopify store. Unfortunately, as our agent mentioned, a lot of these marketplaces (Amazon, Trustpilot,...) claim copyright on their reviews, and while it's still possible to import them, it's always best to be cautious. Having said that, our team is in the process of making it easier to import from platforms without copyright concerns. We'll first start with accepting JSON file from Etsy and expand from there. We have reached out to you to discuss this further and we would love to hear more of your feedback on how we could improve this to benefit you and other merchants.
So far everything looks great. We just installed the app, so time will tell of course. Support was extremely fast and helpful when I ran into a snag during the install. *Update 1/4/24* Woke up this morning and 817 reviews were duplicated on our website 23 hours ago. Contacted support and Mohamed was absolutely infuriating. He tried pushing the blame on to us for importing the reviews. We have literally been driving for the past two days and have not made any changes to our website or any of the apps installed. He kept telling us to turn off the Shop App syndication setting. Fine, that will remove the duplicates. BUT that will also prevent any new reviews collected by the Shop App from being published. So why, all of a sudden yesterday, did the Shop App syndication become a problem? And why would you try to push the blame on the customer? Nothing was changed on our end.
Developer reply ·
Hi there, thank you for your feedback. Our team has been looking into the issue and was able to find the root cause. Both the reviews from Shop App and from Judge.me should be showing normally now, without duplications. Our apologies for the duplicated reviews and for making you feel like it was your fault. We will make sure this won't happen again.
It's getting worse. Not as good as the beginning use
Developer reply ·
Hi there, Thank you for your review. Could you also let us know if you're having an issue with certain features? Our support is available 24/7 and we'd be more than happy to work with you to solve any problems you have. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
Great customer support. However, it was no good for us as they don't allow you to change star shape from rounded to hard edges. So it has a pretty cheap look and feel to it. Perhaps good for dropshipping stores but not higher end products.
Developer reply ·
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. The star shapes bare Judge.me branding so we don't support changing it from rounded to hard edges by default. However, it can be achieved with Javascript and CSS. If you're feeling technical or have a developer with you, we're very happy to share with you some tips and tricks to make this happen.
Updated. Did not have a good experience w/ their support. They tell you if your reviews are real or not and make you prove it, which isn't cool considering their agents are random people overseas with no authority or eduction surrounding your company history. Will give them a couple more stars becuase they reached out and tried to help. The interface is decent at least.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for letting us know about your issue and sorry for the frustration. Judge.me prides itself on being a trusted review platform and we have a strict authenticity policy. We automatically verify reviews based on detecting historical order information from Shopify, and our customer support team will verify reviews collected from other sources (e.g. imported reviews or from the web) as long there is evidence that the reviews are associated with a genuine purchase or order from your store. The process is easy - simply send us a screenshot with the relevant orders. That said, you are free to disable this feature if you prefer (we have also done this for you). We're sorry to hear that our customer support agents weren't able to address your concern adequately. We do have agents located all across the globe who are well versed on our products and features to be able to provide timely customer support. Our customer support team has reached out to you and we are available to help and will be following up on your concerns. Look forward to connecting soon!
I signed up for Judge.me and immediately had issues with the formatting of the reviews on our PDPs. It is now the third day in a row where they claim to fix the issues, I check later, and the issues are still there or now exist somewhere else. Giving them another chance before I switch to a different app.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for giving us another chance to work with your store. Our team lead has reached out and will make sure the issue is fully resolved. Looking forward to continue growing with you!
Hello, can we hide the judge me reviews on products page when there is No review? It scare customers.
Developer reply ·
Hi, Yes you can hide our widgets when there are no reviews. Our support has reached out to set this up for you.
