Thank you for letting us know about your experience. We’ve reached out several times to help resolve the issue and offered to schedule a call, but we haven’t heard back yet. We also recommended setting your reviews widget to read-only mode to prevent random users from posting fake reviews. If you’d like to explore other options or need further assistance, our team is always available to help. We are just an email away.
I have been using this app for 8 years along with their other apps, Yotpo Loyalty and Yotpo SMSbump. I waited way too long to delete their clunky apps. And because I was a long time member, they thought the need to disconnect my Klaviyo integration because I was grandfathered into their old plan. When I had an issue, they would try to get me to upgrade. Why would I want to upgrade and pay more money for less when I have been using your app since August 2017? Yotpo has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth.
I spent four months evaluating options before selecting this company to manage product reviews for my business. I’m a paying client, and the onboarding experience has been unacceptable. On day one, I received four different onboarding templates from three different support reps. There was no consistent guidance or version control. I was asked to complete onboarding materials that turned out to be incorrect, and had to redo them multiple times based on conflicting instructions. The platform's email delivery system shows messages as “delivered,” but test results show that emails are not actually sending. The failures are related to improper DMARC authentication and misconfigured CNAME records. As a result, there is no reliable way to confirm whether customers are receiving emails, or if those messages are branded or compliant. During setup, the system also sent out duplicate review requests to customers due to conflicting onboarding inputs. That issue took 24 hours to resolve. Additional issues include: Support replies take 24 hours, even for setup-critical questions Help documentation frequently leads to 404 errors There is no self-service path for resolving basic issues This is not acceptable performance for a paid service. I cannot recommend this provider based on the current state of their operations.

Thank you for the valuable feedback! We apologize for the negative onboarding experience you had with us - We are taking this feedback very seriously. We have reached out to you offline to discuss the items you raised, in order to make sure we do better next time.
They respond to issues, and collect the reviews, but their integration with Meta and other platforms is suspect at best.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your valuable feedback! From looking at your support ticket about this issue, we already see significant progress with your Meta integration issue that is caused by a very specific complexity of matching between your Yotpo product catalog and your Meta product catalog. Please do not hesitate to respond through your support ticket, so we can reach a resolution to your satisfaction.
Overall app is fine but the support I got was terrible. They took so long to respond and the issue I was facing hasn't been resolved.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for your feedback. We have taken action about the delay and we're glad we were able to fix the issues through your support case. Feel free to reach out again.

Thanks for your feedback, we really appreciate it.
We worked with Ian Christian via chat support to resolve a minor issue we were having where the app recently began to prompt us to go through onboarding, despite the fact that we had set up and customized the app months earlier. We didn't want to reset any of our customizations, so we wrote into support to ensure we handled resolving this properly. Without confirming anything with us, the agent apparently clicked "okay" on our onboarding prompts (exactly what we did not want to do) and reset all of the customizations we had implemented. This erased all of the professional development work we had paid for in customizing the widgets on our website, and additionally reset all the emails we had customized as well. While I understand mistakes happen, the most frustrating aspect is that the agent did not seem to care that they had done this. They hardly responded to our follow up questions, then flatly stated that they can't revert back to before they erased all of our customizations. After some pressing, they said they would escalate this matter to tier 2 support, but they had no estimate of how long it would take to hear anything, or if they could help at all anyway. In this case, we regret reaching out to Yotpo support. They degraded our customer experience and now will cost us time and money to correct everything they erased and reset.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand how important your customizations are and your efforts you invested and we are taking this matter seriously. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused. As discussed in your support case, we have taken steps to ensure that the onboarding prompt will not affect your existing setup moving forward. Additionally, for the inconvenience, we have offered to have our help with customizing your assets free of charge. Feel free to let us know should you want to proceed with this through your support ticket.
It seems like a nice app but we've not been able to use it fully. We have over 1,000 reviews from our customers that disappeared after Shopify's review app was no longer supported and was removed, but Yotpo import doesn't work. It just pops up a blank page with no option to import anything.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for the valuable feedback. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with importing your reviews. We know how important it is to transfer your reviews and we are here to help you. Our support team reached out to you via your support case, please don't hesitate to respond to it so that we can assist you further.
no dynamic coupon codes unless you pay big bucks. this used to be available for an inexpensive monthly fee years ago. not worth the price they charge now to have this feature. And with out dynamic coupon codes, it is no better than any other review platform app available today. YOTPO will likely be on the chopping block for us down the road...
Developer reply ·
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We're continuously working to improve our products so that our merchants can get up and running without any hiccups. Dynamic coupon is currently not part of your package, however, we have submitted a feature request to our products team for consideration.
Will not uninstall from my store.
Developer reply ·
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review — we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences. Our records show that our team has been in contact with you. We've resolved the uninstallation issues and have removed all codes related to our product. If there's anything else we can do to assist you, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I am telling my fellow sellers a cautionary tale. I have been with Yotpo for 7 years.. a long time in the e-commerce world. I have watched this company transition and what has become apparent is 1- there are major speed issues with all yotpo products on your shopify store 2- you will experience Google Console issues and they will expect you and your dev team to invest time to assist with a fix with no economic benefit to you 3- you will experience cost increases year over year and 4- they will have no loyalty to you if you are an older client or if your business goes through a hard season Of course, companies need to make money but their business model has slowly pulled in things like SMS. What this means for you, fellow retailer, is that you will lose compatibility with critical channels (like say, Attentive for SMS). Their response? Just move to us... bundle and save- and they treat the precious company you've built like a cable and telephone contract. This insidious way of doing business is bad for all small businesses. There are plenty of better options that won't weigh down your site, cause SEO issues and throw compatibility roadblocks into the mix (as well as save you a considerable amount of cash). This is my 15th year running my brand. My reviews are few and far between for stack tech however when I see predatory contract management that hurts business and overall operations I am compelled to share it to prevent the heartache and replatforming we are now going to undertake.

We wanted to reach out directly to thank you for your candid Product review. We appreciate your partnership over these past seven years and do apologize for the experience you are currently having as it relates to product, pricing, and service. We understand there are outstanding items that are critical to your business to resolve. We do not take that lightly. Our Black Friday code freeze is still in place until the end of the week to ensure stability for our merchants during the busiest time of the year. As soon as the freeze is lifted at the end of this week, our R&D team will be able to push a fix for the SEO concerns you mentioned and as for the load speed issue we do plan to release improvements on that front as well in a few weeks. Regarding your experience with your contact, we do apologize for the experience you had and hope we can work together with your account team to find pricing that makes sense for your business needs today - especially in light of our longstanding partnership. We appreciate you and the Darn Good Yard team - and hope we can find a path forward together. We'd love to have a discussion regarding the alternative strategy and feature functionality that is critical for you going into 2024. We will reach out to you directly via email to discuss that.
I moved from free version Judge.me to Yotpo as Yotpo looked great and lots of raving reviews about it. I was told about the visual UGC plan which I also added. The review app is great that you can leave images - however, the customisation of the email for review requests is quite basic and clunky. If you want to update the follow up email it resets everything. The visual UGC has some issues too - with things like product album not being able pull from a source of images. I've also had a few issues with the homepage gallery how it shows up on shopify - in which support has taken about 5 days and counting to fix when I thought it should be a simple fix. Uncertain about this being worth the money as of yet as there is not much perceived perks compared to free version of judge.me yet. I'm glad I didn't pay for the prime version that sales recommended yet as it wouldve felt like even more wasted money.

"We never send automatic emails to past orders, this is a step in the onboarding flow that needs to be confirmed by the user." You literally do it without any confirmation from my side.

Waiting on senior team and email now...actually my case is still not solved...so im reducing this to 2 stars.....i didnt get a promised email from senior level staff to investigate why yotpo didnt have any reviews for a year...im an owner of a small business..i dont have anyone helping me so i do need a wee bit of extra support..havent got it to date...
the app was easy to use, but the overall cost just doesn't justify the product. it's too expensive to use. judge.me offers better quality products for a better price however, their customer service is on point. Daniel p had helped me transition and export all of my reviews to a new platform.
The app is not very customizable, slow, and requires HTML and coding experience to integrate in any sort of robust way. Also, the 'Immediate Update' feature, which is describe as a developer mode where you can experiment rapidly with different features of the widget, actually take 8-24 hours to update. This resulted in my customers not being able to leave a review for a day.. right after I sent out review request to all of my customers. The customer service representative who helped me solve the above described catastrophe was at least knowledgeable and helpful though. 5 Stars to Ronel for that. 2 stars to the app.
This is a very poor app. Not so much when it comes to features but in order to access the features, even some basic ones, you need to upgrade. We were paying $299 per month. It was not worth it. We found a more affordable app that offers a lot more things at $15 than what Yotpo did at $299. Customer service is ok, but again the app we use now has a much better one. We did not feel that it actually generated more reviews than the previous app we had on store. Basically we feel more cheated than benefited, mainly due to the pricing model. Very poor. Not worth it. We also had issues with the right reviews sittig on the right pages. When we changed theme reviews got mixed and we lost some. Had to go to the previous theme to find them.
Beware of the info on the site. It lists wishlists as one of the checked items on the growth plan, but NOPE. Even though it is checked, it is not included. I will stick with the free version until I find a different provider. Mostly just upset about the amount of time wasted.
This app was really confusing to set up and I didn't receive any help from the company after reaching out several times. You would think that they would respond quickly to a potential customer, especially because it seems like a big, reputable company. I had to pretend I was a huge customer with 1000's of orders per month, then they got back to me right away. That was really disappointing that I had to lie to get a reply. Particularly, Jamie Conway never got back to me -- but then replied right away when I said I was a big customer. I wish you would give everyone the same treatment Jamie. Or if there's no support for small customers, just plainly say it. Then I spoke with Dan McHugh. He was helpful and answered many of my questions. Then I never heard from him again after our first phone call, which was also disappointing. I was surprised that he couldn't answer simple questions like "What happens when I enable automatic emails? Which of my previous customers will receive those emails?" It's not his fault -- he should be trained in these sorts of questions by the organization. Now I have things set up correctly and the app is working fine, which I had to figure out on my own. I have found the best way to get help is you have to create a ticket. I really appreciated the support from Leizel Ann. This was the first person who actually got back to me and answered my questions. Thank you Leizel Ann and I hope the rest of your company will follow your example of great customer service. 5 stars for Leizel Ann. The app works fine, I like the fact that the customer can compose the review right in their email directly, rather than clicking to another page. I have the "Reviews widget" set up so all the reviews will show up automatically on my "Reviews" page, most recent reviews showing first. I am using the free plan. If you try this app, I hope you will have better luck than I did with setup and getting support from this company.

Firstly, we'd like to thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Please know that your claims have not gone unheard and that we hear and understand your frustration. We're very happy to hear Leizel Ann was able to help you and that you're up and running smoothly. Again, thank you for leaving your feedback. Please feel free to reach out to us again if there are any issues.
Eh, personally I don't feel that it's good enough for $30 a month. Yotpo site isn't pretty, and its not very intuitive (they should def hire some UX designers). The one thing they are very good at, is upselling you to pay more for more features.

Hey, Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback, we apologize for your experience. Our pricing model is flexible and is available on our website and in your Yotpo admin. For our Growth plans (up to 800 orders per month) you can choose from packages ranging from just $19 a month. Don’t hesitate to reach out to share more feedback with us on how to improve our product experience. Thanks again for your feedback.
Works fine and easy to install! But it is too expensive. Everything cost, if you would like ratings on your Google Shopping Ads it starts from USD 249/month. Now looking to move over to other apps that are more cost effective. A bit of lack from support also..
I thought this app would be helpful but it only sent like 20% of the review emails. Most customers have reported they never received a review email. Waste of time!

Interface is cluttered, and the software was constantly buggy. When issues came up, support didn't seem to know what was going on and wasn't helpful. Didn't seem like they cared at all. Price is very high, and order caps are low. If it was totally bug-free and functional, and support was awesome, we'd pay the price, but it's just not worth it for us.

The app does the work of collecting reviews. However, note the app stops collecting reviews when your shop sells over 50 products a month. I had installed this app in the middle of the month with over 10 orders processed in my store to start with, so it quickly reached the limit and now the app has stopped unless I upgrade my plan. Our site sells over 50 products a month regardless of the help of this app, so it is difficult to understand why the plans are charged based on products sold. Only a third of our customers return with reviews so the plans should be charged based on the number of reviews collected.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We always want to ensure a business is on their 'right fit' plan -- meaning how much they're paying should align with the services their receiving and what their business needs to see success with Yotpo. This pricing model is intended to most comfortably scale with your business and can be found across the industry. Our pricing model is available on our website and in your Yotpo admin - For our Growth plans (up to 800 orders per month) you can choose from packages ranging from $19 up to $249 a month. As part of Yotpo's effort to generate the most reviews for our customers, we offer 200 extra orders for new users to help get them started in the best way possible and generate reviews from past orders. If you would like to get in touch, we would be happy to assist you further. Thanks again for your feedback!
the app was ok stopped using it as the cost for value wasn't as good as the app I use now. if you have money to burn yotpo is the one to do it with

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really appreciate your feedback. We're constantly reevaluating our pricing model to try to give each and every business the right package in terms of price + service, but understand it might not be the right fit for everyone. That said, we have recently spruced up our pricing & plans to give you more for less! You can find out more on our pricing page.
As a stand alone tool, unintegrated, it works fine, does what it says on the tin. But in a modern ecommerce environment who wants tools that are unintegrated and in the review context, not communicating with Google to present your reviews in search and ads, as per this stated feature: "Drive high-intent traffic by displaying ratings in organic search results and Google Ads."? Well disappointingly, it cost $8500 per year to get access to this feature, it comes with other features, but when you are trying to grow your store this feature is very useful without the rest, but totally and completely unaffordable for smaller stores. Great if you are already the size of John Lewis or Amazon, but you probably need it less if you are already that size.. Thanks for your help Yotpo in enabling the growth of our store... NOT!!!
Exceed 10 orders a month and you'll learn that it's ludicrously overpriced! 50 cents to send a form email? Really? I'll send them myself at that rate.

Hey TrueToSource! Thanks for your feedback. Regarding orders, our pricing model is available on our website. For our Growth plans (up to 500 orders per month) you can choose from packages ranging from $29 up to $199 a month. We would be really happy to assist you in understanding which plan is the best fit for your business, and to ensure you will be happy using Yotpo's product! Thanks again! Melanie - Customer Care Team
Good basic app for collecting basic reviews. But if you want ANY additional features you are going to pay more money and big bucks for it. Their literature is very unclear as to what features are included in your plan. I spent countless hours trying to install features they advertised on their site, only to hear back that I need to pay more $ for these. Not cool guys.

Hey Grip Clean, Thanks so much for your feedback. I have also reached out by mail to see if I can help at all with the features you would like to use. Our pricing model is available on our website and in your Yotpo admin. For our Growth plans (up to 500 orders per month) you can choose from packages ranging from $29 up to $129 a month. Would be really happy to assist you in understanding which features are available on which plan, and to ensure you get set up well! Thanks again for your feedback! Melanie - Customer Care
This app is horribly overpriced in today's marketplace. After being with Yotpo for more than a year, and consulting with their marketing team to get me to upgrade to their higher tiers for other add-on services, I have since found that there are other companies offering similar services for far less coin. Worst of all about Yotpo is the customer service. I am trying to export my reviews via csv file, and the app will not export the reviews. This could be just a technological glitch, and no one should expect a company to be perfect in this regard. However, I have contacted Yotpo three times now in the last week to get tech support help with this bug in their app, and I have received NO responses. Not even one acknowledgement that they are going to help out. Buyer beware. If I were you I would look elsewhere. As for me, I'm not looking back....but I do hope I can get my hundreds of reviews exported, and yotpo does not seem to be willing to help.

Hey Decoboom, This is Melanie here from Yotpo's Client Care Team. I looked into your case and saw that one of our Support agents replied accordingly with the import list that you requested. We are sorry to read that you haven't received this. If you could please reach out to me directly at support@yotpo.com with the correct email address and I will happily resend you the list. Looking forward to your response so I can help you resolve this as soon as possible. Thanks again for taking the time to give your feedback.
We have used Yotpo for a couple of years now, it has many wonderful capabilities, and ways of acquiring reviews. However, they offer no technical support, only time you will hear from them is when it’s time to renew your contract, and when you find someone in support it’s someone from sales, with a superficial knowledge of the app, not someone who actually knows any of the technical stuff, which is why you needed them in the first place. We are looking for other options.

Easy to use but its not cheap if you have 500 orders in a month the price is 199 dollars/ month. If you have more than 500 orders in a month you have to talk the sales team... wonder what that price tag will be??

Unfortunately not usable in German, due to really bad translations and no opportunity to change that.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us improve. Seems and feels like a good platform. Very easy to customize and find support for online. Problem is the pricing is not very small business friendly. You're looking at hundreds of dollars per month in subscription fees for just a few hundred orders. There are better alternatives for small businesses to work with and grow on.
Free Version is good but very very limited... and Pro is so expensive that 99% of business owner cant even think to afford it. 399$ Per Month asking to pay Annual together is 4788$ Upfront. Mind Boggling.
As one of the top 3% performing brands on Shopify we were very excited to add Yotpo reviews to our store. Before adding the app, we did our due diligence, spoke to other Yotpo customers, etc. The Yotpo rep tells us how amazing the engagement is and how it will dramatically increase sales and pay for itself in just months. After being told the price is $12,000 a year we thought that was a lot for us but decided it was going to be great based on all our fact checking. Unfortunately it was the opposite. We installed the app just before Black Friday 2016 (most traffic we get all year) and the results we're far from stellar. If you're looking for a review app, my recommendation is if you have the annual budgets for this type of investment with the potential of no return for months or years then I would recommend because the engagement is actually great for us. Its just not converting to increased sales at all.
This app used to be great. I was using it for several years and very happy with it but recently they changed their pricing structure so that the most basic plan starts at $399 per month. This prices out all small and many medium sized businesses. Also when I had a tech problem, it took them OVER A YEAR to solve the problem, just in time for them to raise their prices beyond what is affordable for my business. Thanks to other reviews on this thread I just discovered Judge.me. It's an awesome app with all of the functionality of Yotpo and more for only $15 per month and their team responds immediately!
The Application itself is amazing. We had a five star review up before they decided they really wanted to get greedy. The guy who helped us set it up was super helpful and did everything we wanted. The issue we had was the gigantic price increase. We were paying 9,000 dollars a year for the program, which is more than any other program we have by 2x, and this year after renewal they contacted us saying they wanted 14,000 this year. A 5,000 dollar increase from the year before. The guy who pitched it to me was a complete car salesman type and really just makes you feel like a victim of the deal. "Well our program is worth it. O our guy didn't say this was a promotional yearly discount?" I have 0 apps in my store that change their pricing. Even shopify doesn't change their pricing when you go month to month. It is a very shady and sad business tactic and I remember seeing a lot of 1 star reviews on here regarding it and now they are 5 again. I am not sure what that is about but here we are.
Mixed reviews about YOTPO, But be careful and read this before you install it in your system. When I started out with Yotpo I was very happy with the free app. Since I have been with them for 3 years. Over the last 3 years the free version is getting smaller and smaller. I have nearly 100 reviews on the system, so I wanted to keep with them on the site. Recently I spoke to the sales guys about using the services and upgrading, but this is the catch, if you're a customer that has been using this system for a while you I am not paying $5000 per year for the service. It now looks like we will lose our feedback which we have built up because of the pricing of yotpo. Not sure how they can justify this price, personally I think they live on another planet.
We use Yotpo, and pay the (very, very expensive rate) for their Powerhouse Plus plan. Here's the most important thing you need to know: they don't actually support inline SEO with Shopify. It's one of the biggest features of the Powerhouse Plus plan offers on their website, and there's no mention of it not working with Shopify. It wouldn't even be that hard to implement - they'd just need to tap in via the Shopify API and put the review data in a metafield, then have some code to render it in the product.liquid template, then have that block replaced when their javascript code renders the full review functionality. Their customer service people are well-intentioned, but the corporate/billing department is difficult and apparently don't particularly care about making customers happy. For example, they refused to move our billing back by a week even though they enabled our Powerhouse Plus account on the wrong email address initially. Their dashboard and website also looks like it was designed in the early 2000s. For a product that costs so much, it's kind of disappointing. Apparently there is a redesign in the works. The sales guy who we worked with was overly pushy and didn't seem interested in answering my technical questions very thoroughly. But here's the upside: at the moment they're the only service that offers Product Listing Ads and Seller Ratings, as well as a Q&A feature. So I gave them two stars for that. Until someone else brings out a competitive product, they have a de facto monopoly on the space, so I can't really complain too much. I'll update this review if any of this changes.
What should be included in a basic plan isn't... I emailed in because there was an issue and was told that the plan I was on ($30) a month was going away and it was going to $399 a month!!! Who in their right mind would pay $399 a month for things you can get with other review apps for under $40 a month ????? They take FOREVER to respond to support requests. I'm really still unsure why their reviews are so high..... OH and they hide prices on their site now so you have to give them your info to find out it's ridiculously expensive.. No thank you.
Yotpo works well for obtaining reviews and posting them to your site. BE FOREWARNED, however, that you will not be able to access the most helpful functionality (Google Seller Rating for CPC ads and organic listings and social media sharing of reviews) without upgrading to the $399/month version. Other reviewers have made similar comments, so I won't beat a dead horse, but this is a ludicrous amount for the average small business on Shopify, especially DIY startups. Shopify's own review app provides much of the functionality of the free version of Yotpo. This company is missing the big picture (ironically), which is always keep the needs of your customer foremost in mind.
Not for small sites, under-featured, too expensive. The free version is under-featured and nearly useless (only 50 review requests per month.) The starter version at $25 per month doesn't add any features. You have to get the $300/month to get *some* of the features. And the good stuff is at the $500/month level. Additionally, even while testing the free version, it was not performing anywhere close to what they advertised. We were getting only 1% review conversion, when 10% was advertised as a benchmark. When I asked support if they had any resources to improve conversions, they told me to upgrade to paid plan. When I said that their core service was not performing like expected, and we would need to see that it was effective, they said that the Free plan only sends 50 emails per month, because apparently Yotpo support doesn't know what a percentage is. We use many paid apps, and every single one of them has a plan where we get a nearly full-featured service, with ability to implement and optimize, and pay for utilization capacity, rather then a brutally under-feature service which doesn't allow us to actually see if the service will have a positive ROI. Sorry, but I don't trust salespeople. It may be cost effective and have a positive ROI. If Yotpo believed this, and trusted it, they would *at least* give a trial period (They don't have any trial period!!) It's completely within their rights to not care about smaller sites, but if you're doing less than $1million revenue, there are more cost effective options out there. I don't have a complaint about the software, really. Even though it under-performed, I bet that could be improved. Their plan and pricing model is just prohibitive.
Priced for enterprise users - not for Shopify clients. The review engine is nice, but if you want any features it is a MASSIVE jump in price. They make it sound like its an easy upgrade to the useful features - it is not. I am one step above the free version at $25 dollars a month. Just to get the basic feature of responding to reviews, the price goes up 12x. (That's right, an extra $275 a month.) Plus they also charge you for each email sent out after a set amount. (That's right, not completed reviews, just email requests) I am not sure why it costs an extra $3,300 a year just for the basic feature of responding to reviews, but it does. I am sure it's great for Zappos, but not even close to reasonably priced for a small business.
We make half of our sales online and through Shopify POS. Yotpo only works for online purchases, NOT available for your POS customers. There is no feature to manually send out reviews, otherwise we could have made this app work for us. We tried to get help, but we had to go with a different direction.
